The Blades - The Rescue

Post » Thu Sep 30, 2010 12:48 pm

Still lying on the floor with her eyes closed, dreaming about things going on in her life, Raime sat bolt upright as a thundering crash shook the room around her. Surprised, she turned to see an Orc and Imperial rush into the room through a shattered oak door.

They checked the cells, then the Imperial announced himself as Captain Cussler. He was immediately swamped with questions and requests. Some asked for food, others for shoes, weapons, or medical items.

By the Gods... Raime thought. He's not a walking commissary people.

During the bombardment of commentary, one of the prisoners announced himself as a Knight Errant of the Imperial Legion. Raime had worked under a Knight Errant during her time in the Anvil Coastal Patrol. It was a noble position and required nearly a career of dedication to achieve. Surprised to find one here with her, Raime caught his eye and saluted him. Normally it was offensive for a commoner to salute a knight in the traditional military fashion, but Raime was a retired Legionnaire.

"Imperial Agent Raime Baudoin, Coastal Routes Patrol, 32nd Legion Cavalry - Retired," she announced to the Knight and the Blade. "My services are yours, Captain, if you have need of them, or yours, Sir Knight."

She had no requests and no questions, only overwhelming joy and a sudden sense of duty.

I can't believe we're getting out of here. I guess I was lucky to fall in with this lot of prisoners after all, Raime thought.

This keeps getting better and better.. Nina thought bitterly, hearing that most of the prisioners were (or used to be) a part of the legion.. Which made keeping her true identity secret all the more. Am i the only criminal here? those Nords must have thought i was a goody goody too to be thrown in with this lot If the asassin's hands were free she would have covered her face with her palm at this point, but being in the higher security cell, that was impossible.

In total there was a knight errant, a imperial agent, a blade and if the current pattern followed there would be at least a few more goody two shoes in the mix. It seemed the Nords really didnt like those who were on the right side of the law. Without including the other blades that were fighting outside and the ones inside the room with them, Nina really did not have alot of options in front of her if she wanted to live and not be caught again.

Hearing the other asking so many requests and questions made her sick.. It made her even more so that the blades weren't suspicious of any of them. Any one of them could have simply been placed in the same room as the dead blade to kill his rescuers.. but then again it was so secret that not even the Shadowblade had found out who the man's identity had been till now.

Unlike the others Nina kept her mouth shut, She had everything she needed stored safely away with an associate.. funnily enough it was in the same direction the caravan was going. And if the men and women needed weapons.. then they were weaker than the imperial woman thought. Her mind began to think about plans of slipping away into the shadows as they travelled back, but timing would be everything, as too soon, and she would not be able to reach her destination in her current state.. too late and who knows what would happen. Every second she was around these legion and blade members, the less time before they found the mark.

"Oh Sithus you do have a sense of humor after all.." She muttered, too quietly for anyone to hear unless they were right next to her cell.

Gravious

The questions began to irritate Gravious, "I am not here to supply you with arms, we are rescuing you. That is all." He stated calmly, raising his voice so that all could hear. "Gorun, open the cages.. Just.. Let that one stay here." He added, looking into the cage of Nina, she'd been giving him strange looks ever since he'd entered and he didn't like it one bit.

Nodding, the orc began to smash the locks with his mace, "I'll remind you. You are in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nord warriors, follow me and you will live. Otherwise.." His voice trailed off as he realised he didn't really have to finish the sentance. Gorun stopped outside of Larry's cell.
"Sir.. Uhh.. What'cha wanna do with this one?" He asked, not sure whether or not to unlock it, considering the man behind it was obviously insane.

Gravious stepped up next to him and inspected the man who was rolling on the floor, his words a mix of Cyrodiilic and random gibberish. "Open it.. I'll set him free." He ordered quietly, drawing his sword and walking into the cell. Larry backed away, his eyes were focused on the wall but he could obviously sense a presense. "No.. No.. Not again." He mumbled.

Gravious raised his sword and pushed it into the mans chest, the sharp blade pierced the heart and caused instant death. The captain shook his head and cleaned the blade, "I understand they have done some terrible things to you here.. But we cannot begin plans of revenge until we're all out safely. There are lives other than ours at stake." he insisted, his eyes watched Nina intently. "Get back to it Gorun." he issued and once again Gorun began to destroy the cells with his mace.

OOC: Sorry I’ve fallen behind

Apparently, according to what the imperial had said, the Blades were rescuing them. This struck her as very unlikely. Weren’t the Blades supposed to be guarding Emperors or something? Why would they care about a load of no-names in a castle in Skyrim? But when the Orc started looking in cells it became clear-they had lost one of their own.

“Either that, or someone who owned them money,” the Khajiit muttered to herself. Though once they had found the person-dead-it became clear that they mattered to the two Blades. Maybe she should show them respect. But about a second later it seemed half the legion had also been imprisoned here and she wasn’t sure what to say:

Ma’Kahdar, traveller? Well that the best I’ve got going. Better than Renrij. Oh, come on, stop moping about the past. What’s that going to fix?

The Blades were now being assaulted from all directions for weapons and someone asked for a potion.

If they’re giving weapons to people they barley know, maybe I should ask for some brandy. Or money, perhaps, got to think long term.

However, the Blade just then conformed he wasn’t giving weapons and ordered the Orc to start breaking down the cell doors.

Still, they’ll have food, right?

Marcus Percious

Marcus returned the salute "Thank you Raime but we will follow the Blades orders" he told the retired Imperial Agent. Looking her up and down she had the look of a warrior about her "she seems very young for one to have joined the legion and then retired. She would make a good Ally to have" he thought to himself.

Looking at the blades a bit of pride took over, though both the Legion and Blades worked for the good of the Empire that did not mean that got completely along. There was always a bit of friendly competition between the two Fighting Forces of the Empire. Even though Marcus was getting on in years his body was still heavily muscled and in great shape. Standing up Straight he looked Gravious right in the eyes " Lead on ........ i am sorry but i never caught your name sir?" he asked even though he had heard the orc call out to him, Marcus still felt it was important for a person to be introduced properly.

DoNashi

"I am not here to supply you with arms, we are rescuing you. That is all." The captain stated calmly, raising his voice so that all could hear.

That’s a bummer I’ll have to follow them for safety then. I do hope they’ll share some food with us otherwise I don’t think we’ll make the journey to Bruma.

“fair enough.” DoNashi answered.

"Gorun, open the cages.. Just.. Let that one stay here." He added, looking into the cage of the strange woman.

So they are not taking the emotionless woman with them. What a Relief, I don’t know about the others, but she sure gives me the creeps.

Following captain Cussler with his eyes, he saw him entering the cell from Larry, who was still laying on the ground, his words were some random gibberish. It was clear he completely lost his mind. Gravious raised his drawn sword and without waiting another second he pierced the heart. Ending the man his live.

"I understand they have done some terrible things to you here.. But we cannot begin plans of revenge until we're all out safely. There are lives other than ours at stake." He explained his action.

I guess it was for the best. Like when a horse breaks a leg, it’s best to kill it. it’s quick and eases the pain. But I’ll miss the man. One of the only ones that actually talked during our time imprisoned.

Showing no emotion that could be directed to the death of larry, he waited for the big Orc to finally open his cell door.

"I am not here to supply you with arms, we are rescuing you. That is all." He stated calmly, raising his voice so that all could hear. "Gorun, open the cages.. Just.. Let that one stay here." He added, looking into Nina's cage as he did so. So he was paying attention.. good. Not the exact reaction i was expecting, but i already have my own plan of escape if they do leave me here.. she thought to herself, a grin grew on her face.

As the one in charge went into Larry's cell 'setting him free' it styed there. "The compassion of the Blades hasn't changed it seems.. First you leave an innocent woman to rot that has been incarcerated injustly merely because of the way she looks at you, and then you murder a man who has merely lost a few marbles, but still could be saved. Sherogaths worshippers are more insane that what that man was, but then again everything you do is 'for the good of the empire' " she coughed at this bit purposely.

"But let me tell you this, without your beloved Emperor to protect what are you now?" As she spoke her bonds were amlost completely cut through, by her nails that had grown long from her extended stay here. Lets see it that rattled his cage.. The bit about their emperor should really get to them.. she thought leaving the last strand of her bonds till the time was right. After all if she freed herself now, her comments would have them kill her rather than let her be free. This didn't bother her, as if it was time she would not fight Death's Embrace. But the time was not now, which meant the man must be trying something otherise she would be dead like Larry.

"If you want my views to change however.. Let me out and i won't have to join you.. if you do not wish to take me with you." Nina added, seeing that she had very little choices available to her. At least by having her door opened she had a much better chance of getting out of here.. Despite from the temperature of the place and the sounds she had heard from the windows in the weeks staying here, her chances of survivng on her own were diminishing by the second. Dammit.. why must the room be filled with these people.. I may have to.. 'cooperate' her thoughts left a bitter after taste. Sometimes even a woman of her calibre would require help, no matter how much she hated it.

But to be able to get that help would prove to be difficult.

Barrett, Prison Cells

Barrett frowned as another prisoner announced herself as an Imperial agent. Great, he thought, I end up in a prison cell with a bunch of Legionaries. Just my luck. He glanced up as Captain Cussler announced that they weren’t going to give out weapons, and ordered his Orc lackey to begin opening up the cells. The Orc proceeded to begin smashing locks with his mace, but stopped at Larry’s cell. Barrett looked out of his cell, and saw that Larry was rolling around on the floor, speaking gibberish like a lunatic. He finally snapped. Well, I guess it was just a matter of time Barrett thought, unsurprised by the Blade’s apprehension towards setting Larry free.

What Barrett was surprised by, however, was the Captain’s manner of setting him free: a stab to the heart. “Well, I guess that’s one definition of freedom.” Barrett muttered. He stepped back from the door again and waited for the Orc to get to his cell when the emotionless girl, the one who had attacked the guard earlier during her imprisonment, spoke up. Cussler had apparently ordered his friend to leave her in her cell, and she didn’t take kindly to that, it seemed. But it was understandable, in Barrett’s opinion, for the Captain to not be thrilled about letting the girl free.

She gave Barrett the creeps, mainly because she reminded him of some of the people he had run with in the old gang, back in the day. Her manner of speech, her attitude, even the manner in which she carried herself reminded him of the freaks who were the worst killers of the group, who took some type of sick pleasure in killing people. Barrett frowned again. He really hoped that the girl didn’t get free, but he knew that people like her usually have ways. Barrett shook his head to rid his minds of the thoughts and leaned against the wall of his cell while waiting to be freed.

Vanas, Prison

Vanas awoke from his forced slumber with a jerk. The Dumner had accumulated quite an infamous reputation in the prison facility, using the magical school of Illusion to warp the minds of his violent tormentors, allowing him extra privileges and less punishment when the magic was applied correctly. Of course, such power came at a price, and the previous night the guards had beat him into unconsciousness after discovering his power.

He shifted gingerly on his blood soaked bed-roll. I was probably on the brink of death, Vanas thought grimly as he tried to gain his bearings. A distant sound filled his ears as he slowly rose off the cold stone floor of his cell, a thick fog obscuring his vision, and a throbbing pain pulsating through his damaged skull. Almost losing balance, his warrior’s reflexes caught ahold of the wall before he collapsed back onto the ground. The sound was becoming louder and more concise, it seemed like a battle of some sort. A battle would mean a chance of escape, and a chance for revenge. Vanas liked revenge.

The battle outside his cell seemed to have stopped, the figures who had assaulted the prison were now milling about. Vanas slowly shuffled over to the cast iron door to his cell, the confusing fog that obscured his vision slowly lifting. “Hey, someone, let me out” he croaked.

The captain stated that he would not be giving out any weapons or other supplies and Arwayn frowned a little. Damn... It was worth a shot though. I hope I can make this journey considering I have been without food, water and magicka nearly this whole time. She then heard the man tell his orc companion to keep Nina locked up, because he did not trust her, and nina quickly fired retorts back at the man. Arwayn shook her head at that and thought sarcastically to herself. Real smart, an attitude like that will certainly make them want to assist you...

Gorun and captain Gravious then walked up to Larrys cell, who was still on the floor babbling like a mad man. She watched as the captain drew his sword, and pulling the man to him, he plunged the blade into the man's chest, killing him instantly.

Tragic... but the man is out of misery now, he would certainly parish anyways in his broken mental state.

Arwayn then watched as Gorun slowly freed all of the prisoners, and as the orc got to her door and smashed it open, she slowly walked through the doorway, flashing him a thankful smile and giving the large orsimer a humble 'thank you'. She then stood quietly until she heard the orders to start following them out.

Gravious

Gravious looked up at the "Knight-Errant" or whatever he thought he was and smiled, "Captain Cussler." He stated, he hated giving out his first name to people, besides - He was on duty, this was a mission and people were dying while they exhanged pleasentries. Ofcourse.. Pleasentires until Nina opened her mouth. The part about his decisions riled him, but he was truly stammered and confused. His first thoughts were on pain and suffering, he wanted to charge in and begin to give lessons on how to take a mace to the face. His second and more controlled thoughts were on whether or not she was manipulating him into a trap. And the final, more powerful thought, was to just stab her.

Gorun reacted quickly though, as Gravious dropped his mace and went to unsheath his sword again, Gorun jumped to his side and placed a hand on his captains arm. "No Captain.. Leave her. She will gain no victory this day." He advised. Gravious fought him for a few seconds but the orismer was too strong and sadly - He was right.

With great force he shoved his sword back in it's scabbard and picked up his sword before storming out of the room, "COME ON!" He barked, "We haven't got all bloody day!"

Gorun simply sighed and opened the final cell that wasn't occupied by Nina. "Alright folks, you heard him.. Follow us and stay close." He looked into Nina's cell, "Sorry, but.. Well, Captain's orders.." He shrugged and turned back to everyone else. He didn't like the idea of leaving the woman here to die, especially just for her opinion. But Gorun was a soldier, he'd been ironed into a strict sense of duty and respect. If the man above you said jump, you jumped. It was how he lived, and how he survived.

"Hurry Up!" Gravious barked.

"Sorry, but.. Well, Captain's orders.." the orc said making the Imperial woman just laugh. Just like a good puppy, listening to your master than acting on your own to save someones life she thought, but shrugged. If the roles were reversed she would do the same thing, except kill someone like her instead.

"Don't worry i will catch up with everyone real soon" Nina called out as the blade commander told everyone to hurry up, after he told the orismer to leave her behind. Im not about to die here.. luckily i still have something to get me out.. Victory is still going to be mine dont worry she thought her face changed from her stone-like ways, to one filled with glee. She wasn't about to kill any of the blades until they tried anything.. If she escaped they wouldn't take her out. But some of the legion members might if they ever realised who she was.. They wouldn't take kindly to having soeone tag along that killed their commander in such a public and humiliating way.

They wouldn't be paying attention to her cell now, so quickly Nina scratched oped the last of the leather straps on her hands, allowing her to fall and land on her feet (but almost falling on her backside). She had this planned for a very long time, Ever since she killed that guard.. Her plan to leave everyone one else behind was now justified, as the rest didn't even seem to be upset that Nina wa the only one being left behind.

Oh.. they will get what is coming to them.. I did them a favour and they still do this? Oh well luckily the shadow is on my side today.. i should be able to slip out with my ability.. maybe even get myself some provisions while these guys fight their way out. I really dont want to die out there in these clothes and without any food.. she thought to herself, already planning her next move as she set herself free from her bonds. Finally she would be able to escape from this place.. and maybe take out her target after all. Hopefully the guards would come in and check all the cells, so she could slip out or pickpocket the one with a key..

As the shattered padlock for her cell clanged to the floor, a tear came to Raime's eye. Her cell was the last to be unlocked, then she stepped out into the open space with the others.

As she walked she suddenly realized how very tired she was. Tired and hungry. Starving.

Gods, by Talos I'm starving, she thought.

She was not quite weak, as she had been staying as fit as was reasonably possible in the confines of her cell. Even so her senses were dull and her body was aching.

I hope this march is mercifully short. At the very least, I hope we find some proper rest and nourishment soon.

With that thought she followed the Blades out into the hallway, pausing only briefly to consider the woman they had left behind. That's the same girl that killed the guard isn't it?
A pang of guilt overtook Raime as she left the room.

Maybe... does she need some help?

After Nina reacted aloud to the captain telling Gorun to leave her locked up, the captain quickly unsheathed his sword, stepping towards her cage clearly affected by her words. Thankfully the captain was stopped by Gorun who told the captain that she was not worth killing and she would recieve no victories this day regardless. The captain reluctantly resheathed his blade, then quickly stormed out of the room, barking at the others to hurry up. Arwayn moved as quickly as she could up behind Gorun, the orc seemed to be the more level headed of the two from what impressions the men made so far; that was something that she found amusing considering what races they were.

Holding her stomach while she walked, she could hear loud grumbling coming from her body with each step, she gritted her teeth slightly with the pain she was feeling and she silently scolded her stomach to be quiet, and at her body to hold on just a little longer, she would finally get a meal soon enough now. She watched as the orc stopped to look at Nina, and to apologize to her for not letting her out, saying he was only following orders, then she followed the large orsimer out of the dungeon, anxious about having to head out into the fray of battle in her malnourished state.

Marcus Percious

Marcus stepped out of the cell and eyed the other prisoners "seems like a motley crew what could the Nords have wanted with all of us?" he wondered. Looking over to the cell of the strange women Marcus's eyes narrowed she seemed so familiar "damn if i can remember her though" he thought to himself.

Marcus followed after the Captain of the Blades not wanting to wait any longer in the prison.

Barrett, Exiting Prison Cells

Barrett nodded at the orc as he smashed the door to his cell open and headed out after the captain. It seemed like they were going to just leave the disturbing girl behind after all. Barrett understood why, and felt it was most likely a wise choice, but he hated just leaving the girl behind to rot, especially when she could actually just be a civilian who’s really bad at social interaction. Barrett frowned and lagged behind the rest of the prisoners. He paused in front of the girl’s cell and looked into her eyes.

Barrett was disturbed. Her eyes were just … cold. Emotionless. He had seen people with eyes like those before. He had seen people with those kind of eyes murdering innocent women and children with smiles on their faces. He had seen those kind of people burn entire villages to the ground to get at one person. Of course, she may not be like those people, Barrett thought, his brow furrowing. He blinked hard and said to the girl quietly, “Good luck, kid. You’re gonna need it to get out of this place.”

With that, he turned and followed after the other prisoners and the Blades, hoping to come across a weapon that he could use to free his bound hands.

In the hallway outside the cells, the group of prisoners gathered around the two Blades. As a group, they began to move through the prison compound.

Raime noticed some clear signs of fighting. The corpses of bloodied and crushed Nords occasionally dotted the passages. As if she was tired, Raime stopped to take a quick rest and leaned against the wall near one of the fallen Nords, then slid down the wall and sat beside his corpse.

The group paid no attention to her. They were following the Captain, and he was set on his mission. Raime turned to the corpse and examined the armor.

Way too heavy for me to use, she thought. She checked his weapon, a massive claymore. Again, too heavy. In fact, there was almost nothing useful about the corpse at all. Almost.

What Raime was searching for was small, and not particularly striking. She was looking for a key. Digging through the armor, Raime came across a small metal belt tucked under the big Nord's chest plate. Attached to the belt and hanging by a small strap was a skin pouch with a drawstring. Within it lay a keyring and about a half dozen tiny metal keys. Some were rusted and looked as if they had never been used. Others were well worn from repeated handling.

Best I can do, girl.

Stealing off from the main group, Raime trotted back to the cell block as quickly as she could in her current state of health. There, she found the cell of the girl they had left behind.

"Hi!" Raime said. "So uh, look," she fumbled for a moment, "I don't know why the captain left you behind. Maybe he knows something I don't. I certainly see why he wouldn't like you. I don't like you. But that doesn't mean I would leave you to rot in this frozen wasteland, so, uh... here." Raime tossed the ring of keys into the cell.

"I don't know which is which or anything, but hopefully that can help. It's the best I can do. Good luck!" With that, Raime turned to leave. She stopped just at the entrance to the hallway, though, and paused.

"Ya know, I never got your name. Mine's Raime, how about you?"

After hearing the response, Raime turned. At a trot, she ran back through the halls of the prison compound following the sounds of the group she had just left. After a few moments, she caught up with them.

ooc: The dead guards armour is mostly of a fur/iron/leather mix. Mostly the cuirass and the helmets are destroyed. Their swords are heavy nordic broadswords/claymores/maces made of a simple iron. If they have any shields, they're small. And they may have a few coins/potions but it isn't terribly likely.

ic:
Gravious

Gravious didn't wait for Gorun to catch up, his mind was racing with the ideas of repremanding him. But then again, the orc had never stepped out of line before.. And he's a friend. he added, feeling the weight of his decisions on his shoulder. He stopped and looked behind him, he was standing ontop of the four corpses that Gorun had killed. "Take what you can. We're not out of this yet." He instructed, watching as a redguard in her 20's, maybe 30's inspected one of the corpses, deciding to go for something he didnt' get a glimpse of.

He felt a twinge of trechary as she rushed back to the cell room. What is she doing? he wondered, he instantly came up with an answer. She's going to same that bleeding woman. Gravious fumed. He turned to look at other prisoners. "Quickly, find your boots and anything to keep you protected." He added, picking up a shield and holding it out. "You'll certainly need this."

Gorun rounded the corner and nodded to Gravious. "Tell them we're ready to come out Gorun." Gravious ordered. The great orc smiled and ran past him, his heavy armour clanking loudly. "Alright folks, we have other men and women here.. It's time to act as a team. When I say go. You go. No waiting, no second thoughts. Run. If you don't run, you die and that slows us down. You run, you live and everyone else gets away happy. Alright?" He asked, to confirm if everyone had heard him. If there's one thing he hated about civilians was when they didn't know how to take orders.

DoNashi

He followed the two blades outside to the hall where he saw some dead bodies. Making his way to one of them he saw Raime already searching one of them for something. Without giving an explanation she got up again and made her way back to the cell. I hope she is not giving that woman a chance to escape. If it were up to me, she would stay behind.

He set down with the dead Nords and searched for whatever he could use. On one of them he found a small sharp and simple dagger, which he used to cut leather straps out of the armor. He then used the leather straps together with a wooden stick from the Nords axe to give his broken arm some support.

Damned guards! Breaking my arm like that. he thought while he tightened the straps. He then took the sharp dagger and put it away in his pocket. He then took a right forearm protector and put it on. he then took the boots of one of them and tried them. A little to small but it’ll do. He then took pulled of the rests of the leather cuirass the guard was carrying. He threw it aside and then put on the warm shirt thee dead Nord wore under it. then he took the gauntlets, carefully putting it on the hand of his broken arm. next he chose a small round shield that he took in his right arm and could give him protection from all kind of things. i gues i won't be fighting back.

With a soft growl he stood up. His body still aching everywhere. god, I’m dying for some rest. he then started to make his way to the captain, slightly pulling his right leg.

"Alright folks, we have other men and women here.. It's time to act as a team. When I say go. You go. No waiting, no second thoughts. Run. If you don't run, you die and that slows us down. You run, you live and everyone else gets away happy. Alright?" Gorun shouted when he rounded the corner.

Let the fun part begin..

As she waited for her opportunity her mind went back to the reaction the Captain made to her retort. Seeing how he reacted almost made the girl giggle. He could be fun to toy with if I get stuck in the position to go with them... she thought before hearing fast paced footsteps, as if someone was jogging towards the cell. Nina quickly moved into the shadows and waited to see how it was... mainly because it did not sound as heavy as armoured guards would if they were running.

Her assumptions proved to be correct as the redguard girl who had called her stupid earlier came up to her cell.

"Hi!" the girl said. "So uh, look," she fumbled for a moment, "I don't know why the captain left you behind. Maybe he knows something I don't. I certainly see why he wouldn't like you. I don't like you. But that doesn't mean I would leave you to rot in this frozen wasteland, so, uh... here." the Redguard tossed the ring of keys into the cell.

"I don't know which is which or anything, but hopefully that can help. It's the best I can do. Good luck!" With that, she turned to leave but stopping just at the entrance to the hallway.

"Ya know, I never got your name. Mine's Raime, how about you?"

This entire time Nina just blinked, not knowing what to think about the woman, but her eyes returned to their normal state, and she shrugged. "You can call me Nina, last name you won’t need to know unless the Captain already knows" She said before the woman nodded and left leaving Nina with the ring of keys at her feet.

Looks like someone gave me sympathy after all.. The Blade will not like that one bit she thought as the assassin crouched and flipped through the keys, trying each one, before hearing a relieved click. Let’s hope luck continues to smile upon me she added, taking her plan to the next stage; escape. As she was about to leave, her eyes scanned the area she had spent the past few months of her life. Looking at the man whose life was ended so suddenly made Nina [censored] her head to her side. "You could have been useful as a cute little decoy Larry.." She said to the lifeless body in front of her, her mouth curved into a smile thinking at how that could have turned out.

Now hearing the sound of heavier footsteps, Nina decided now was the time to get moving. A faint emerald glow emanated from her body briefly as the magic of her sign began to weave the surroundings around the imperial woman's body. Soon she was concealed to untrained eyes, and walked slowly towards the exit. Being more fatigued than the others, the assassin knew she wouldn't escape without at least a way to restore her condition.. Urgh.. Since these nords don’t seem to be the magic or alchemist types.. Finding something to fully restore me won't be around. her mind continued to think of what the guards would have around, but it seemed that her luck continued to come to her as two men rushed from a room in the corridor, rushing towards her.

Sticking close to the wall, she watched the two run by, and quickly slipped into the room they had run out from. Nina's eyes widened (if they could be seen) as she looked at the items in the store room. There weren’t the best items lying around but they would do the job of giving her at least a fighting chance.

Mostly the items she took notice of were a potion with a yellowy liquid, a few standard grade weapons, and fur armoured crafted for cold weather climates. Score.. Not the best of tastes, but a girl can't be picky in this situation.. she thought to herself, sighing at the fact it wasn't her armour and weapons. Briefly Nina unmelded to become visible again, so she would be able to see her body. Equipping oneself while invisible can be disastrous, the assassin knew that for a fact. Disposing of her horrid prison clothes and putting on the worn out but still useful armour (not for battle, but for warmth.. fur never is useful), she uncorked the restore fatigue potion and downed the contents, coughing in disgust of the taste. Definitely not the more purified of potions.. Can still taste.. Cheese? who makes these potions.. she thought bitterly spitting and grabbing a chunk of the stale bread next to where the potion laid to get rid of the taste.

Feeling some of the strength come back to her, Nina finished preparing herself for the challenges to come, and melded back again into her surroundings.

Marcus Percious

Marcus crouched next to the body of one of the dead Nord Guards with a small frown on his face Marcus removed the guards black leather boots "Damn these are very nice for a Nord to have" he thought as he slipped them on. "A perfect fit!" thought Marcus smiling down at his now covered feet.
Reaching around the Nord he took a Iron Broadsword for himself checking its balance and the edge of the blade "Say what you will about these Northern Bastards but they can smith with the best of them" he muttered admiring the the perfectly balanced and sharp Iron Nordic broadsword he now held. Taking the Nords belt and scabbard Marcus stood up straight feeling much better now that he had boots and a sword again. Glancing down at another corpse Marcus noticed a large silver flask, Taking the bottle he gave it a experimental sniff of it. The strong smell coming from it could be only one thing "Rotgut" he thought happily taking a deep swig from the flask a broad smile now covering his face he offered the drink to the others "Strong stuff but it will make even a Bosmer feel like a Nord in a snowstorm" he said.

DoNashi

Marcus turned to the others and offered a drink from a silver flask he found on one of the Nords. "Strong stuff but it will make even a Bosmer feel like a Nord in a snowstorm" he said, smiling at the others. DoNashi gladly accepted the drink. He could feel the liquid burn down his throat leaving a great feeling behind.

“this stuff is great!” DoNashi thanked the man. He then took out the last pieces of the dead rat he found.

“this is all I can offer you..” he said, with a small glimpse of shame on his face, while holding out the rat to the man.

DoNashi

giving Marcus a smile, he ate the leftovers from the rat up himself. "that's a deal!" he said with a smile. "this rat was long overtime anyway, wouldn't have been the best way to repay you for the drink."

The sound of a heavy object hitting wood reminded her to cover her eyes just in time. A moment later a large splinter of wood was sticking from her arm and the cell door was broken down. The Khajiit had never been gladder that she was wearing a thick robe and the splinter hadn’t gone into her arm. Pulling in out, she joined with the group as they left the room.

Ma’Kahdar stopped to see if one of the fallen Nords had anything of use to her. Unfortunately the Nord’s boots would be too small for her feet and most of his armour was shredded. The next Nord, however, was wearing iron gauntlets in fairly good condition.

These should protect my hands in any fights. Also give some extra weight to my punches.

The Nord was also holding a shield, but she decided it would be of no use to her. It was so small you had to know how to use a shield to have even half a chance with it. Up ahead she could see two of the escapees sharing a drink of some sort, and a rat. Examining the Nord again she found a small bread roll, stale but still edable.. Feeling a little happier already she took a bite, while hurrying to catch up with the rest of the group.
