Oh maybe our spouse and child are dead and we time travel to try and save them! Only to kill them again :)

It's hard to tell, but it does seem to me he's wearing a pipboy, which could confirm it's the main character after the bomb drops, and with him disappearing...memory den?

... ?__?

Not to be confused with Mammary Den across the park, which is a far shadier establishment. ;)

...I think you've just created my favorite plot theory yet. Sure, amnesia's as cliche as it gets, but I think they could make it work.

I thought you were going to post https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jw1UN1Iz78. But no, and I hate that song. Bad! BadMadCat!

Cheers!

I really can't wait to get to the memory den. It makes me think of the premise in the movie Strange Days.
Who's memories are they? Who is the primary customer?
If it is truly about memories, would pre-war memories go for a premium? Are some memories taken from extricated vault dwellers? Ghouls?

More than likely I'm getting my hopes up, and it's a place where synths go to clear and/or defrag their memory banks. Which I suppose would be a robot equivalent of getting hammered.

Well, you see, that isn't a cut scene.. That was them creating an interesting camera shot for use in the trailer.. To do that means your character is standing around somewhere while you swoop the camera around manually. Why he disappears? Maybe someone simply went "oops, forgot to make the character invisible" and hit a button to do so. The footage probably then went into a big pile of footage that could possibly be used for the trailer and nobody noticed it when they edited it all together.

I concur. It was just a minor editing mistake when making the trailer. Bet it was kind of creepy when it was first noticed. :D

I think he is just part of the Vault 111 Garrison/Maintenance crew.

Is it so weird to see a blue near a vault?

I've seen this before. I just assume it's you (the PC) watching the false memories put into his android memories while he was sleeping. It's the moment when it's being explained to him by his son (who is really just a scientist) who and what he is.

Gee I thought everyone knew this.
