The blood Thickens when boiled with Dragon-fire

This is a tale from an age long forgotten by all who now live. No proper recollection of the events of this age exists. This is merely a retelling of an old story with a deeper meaning than those we have told about our now common enemy. It begins with a familiar yet different poem to the one we owe our lives.

Dragonborn
By honor is sworn
To keep shadow forever at bay.

The fiercest foe flies
when the shrill tongue crys
Dragonborn
For your honor we pray.

And honor is boldest when the dark ones are coldest
when evil doth grasp for your heart
thou unsheathe thy blade and strike truer than true
and rend foes back to their start

In the birth of mankind on the world we know now, life was less than hospitable. We dealt with foe after foe, unwilling to compromise our arrogance for peace. This was our biggest folly. For we have paid for it with the blood of our own good people. The wisest of our race could not contend with the ignorance and greed of our weaker peers, and could not foresee the impending danger coming from those we offended most:

The mortal gods of wrath and flame and their high king, Alduin, a great dragon of shadow and ice, and his siblings spread across the vast mortal plane, many who have been worshiped by those of lesser knowledge of the mythic. These were once great allys and fearsome foes all the same
In the dawn age the dragons were one being, the great god of time and space for which we have no name, yet some propose to be still among us: imperial fools. It was not till the excavation at high hrothgar that we have discovered the truth.

this is just me messing with lore, take it for what it is.
tell me what you think about my altering of the poem. :hubbahubba:

consider me like a dissident priest but instead a exiled graybeard.
