the bloodskal blade.....useless?

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 3:17 pm

As with everything else, if you done like it, you dont have to use it. But there are those of us who would like to use this weapon, the bloodskal blade as ive described. "the warrior and his trusty greatsword. Relies on nothing but his blade" is easier to do when you play on master and youre thing to not die by arrow.

Then perhaps ( im not trying to argue with you for the sake of it) your playing the wrong kind of character?

I have tried many, many types. Maybe THATS the problem. Ive done sooo much, sooo many thst ive gotten bored. To me the bloodskal blade could be the basis for a character ive not yet done and im held back by the weak 30 damage enchant. Even on novice, once youre over lvl 15-20 the enchant is too weak to matter. That obsticle could be fixed of the bloodskal could be disenchanted. I would appear some of those who have posted agree. Also, im not arguing and i hope ive not come off as though i am. I just like friendly debates.

Im sure some people would agree. I personally dont think it SHOULD be the basis for a new character. Obvioulsy thats your choice but to me it breaks the 'stereotype' of what each time of character should be... and in a bad way.

Stereotypes arent always good, or true. How many stories are there with warriors with special swords? King arthur and muramasa (of japanese folklore) to name a few...

What difference would disenchanting it make? the issue is making the LAZER bit more powerful yes?

Even if you could DE the bloodskaal blade, without abusing glitches you'd only get ten or twenty more points of damage on the enchant.

I think the sword is fine, though it is ugly as all hell. I hate the steel great sword, Nordic great sword, and the BS blade with the leather extra gripping part. I know it is so that in real life a warrior could choke up on the blade if his range was going to be impeded. However, in skyrim it is purely for the William Wallace highlander looking claymore, I utterly hate it!

This is still a thing? Wow.

It's a novelty item. It's a nice little bonus Bethesda tucked into the DLC for us to play with. It's not part of the MQ, it's literally used to open one doorway in one dungeon. That's it. No lore books surrounding it, no NPC pvssyr, no actual "quest" even devoted to it, you literally stumble across it on your way to get something else.

Get over it.

I want a sword that shoots dragons from the end like I'm a walking, talking Ronnie James Dio concert. But I'm not gonna blow up the boards demanding the developers to make it. (not really)

Hmm...the attack actually staggers enemies? That's pretty damned good. Maybe I'll respec (otherwise known as mastvrbating, for those who were there for the meeting :P) my character so that he can use it effectively. Weapon enchants were never a big deal to me, so the stagger effect may come in handy for me.

Edit: Scratch that, I'll probably stick with my "happy funtime whirlwind" spell, instead. If only there was a perk allowing me to wield a claymore with one hand. :P

Yeah, the actual damage on the energy wave is completely secondary. It staggers enemies, and if you side-swing power attack you can stagger several at once. That's gold right there.

Hmm...this makes me wanna try a two handed battlemage. Are all enemies staggered by this?
