thought I would start a thread for my fellow book worms

any other gamers here love reading?

reading is one of my favorite Pastimes.. if I am feel depressed or Aggravated, from time to time I just grab a book and drive to my cottage in the woods and just read while listening to thee beautiful sound of the river running and absorbing the beauty of nature..


last week when I had no power, i had reread through all the Lord of the Rings Novels in just over 4 days..



what books have you read recently? were they good? Were they Bad? what are some books you would reccomend to others?

I love reading, but I'm sad to admit I haven't been doing much of it lately. Every time I try to read I get distracted by the thought of doing some other activity, and so I stop.

But right now I'm trying to read through The Count of Monte Cristo, I haven't gotten very far into it, but it's a pretty cool book. It still amazes me how much better written it is than The Lord of the Rings, vocabulary wise, despite its age.

And the last book I read fully was The Two Towers near the beginning of the year. I kinda gave up on The Return of the King, for now.

We do already have a thread about reading http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1502784-what-books-are-you-reading-4/, although it has fallen off the front page a little. Dunno what you want to do with that, just putting it out there.

In order to stay on-topic, I just put in a big order on Amazon. I ordered a Pratchett novel that I did not have for some inscrutable reason, a Star Wars book by a favorite author who recently passed away, and a number of classic sci-fis and books on eastern religion/philosophy. So I will be doing a lot of reading when they arrive.
