I'm probably overreacting, but I am tired of people relying so much on Boone as a companion. His perk svcks because I can see the enemy fine and I would rather he focused on enemies I wasn't already killing. Every other companion offers a perk that makes my life far easier, but Spotter is simply redundant...

I like his dialogue/story and James Marsden gives a heck of a performance, but Veronica's story is just as compelling and SHE can kill everything in one attack as well. Yet I never hear people suggest her instead of Boone or discover the benefits of drinking with Cass or simply save a fortune on items with Raul and Arcade. Yes, Arcade's a bit of a weakling, but he starts off with a plasma pistol and can easily be given better equipment. And Lily is a TANK! For STEALTH characters! INCONcIEVABLE!

And yet... I still only hear about how awesome Boone is. I understand his ability is specifically killing people while you're looking, but this is just showing off, not practical gameplay.

And /agree on Lilly. Nothing ruins the feel of sneaking worse than a huge supermutant in overalls and a bonnet tomping about. Although, it is quite comical.

On my first play-through I had Boone - I thought a Sniper team, go, go go ... then I encountered his melee bug once too often and also I had to play nice with the NCR with him.

On my second run, I only have Ed-E ... I only use him as a backpack and landmark, but I like the sensor perk he provides. I am thinking of Veronica, but idk. I am more of a lone wolf then anything.

I only like boone as unlike veronica, uses a gun so he wont charge into deathclaws and get killed like her

i have to agree with boone being overrated
i kinda like his perk when sniping makes it easier to snipe but not that much
i love veronica i just wish you could give her a long range weapon when you want her to use one not oh lets pull out the stupid piece of %@*! 10mm all the time like she does use other weapons and fails miserably but yeah shes still an awesome char
cass is awesome too love the perk as well plus the side quest with the loot
has anyone found a *decent* secondary follower ive only found ede and rex.....
omg a minigun id ask where but i dont want you to spoil it

Raul is the same as Boone, but short-range and with a superior perk.

I wouldn't say Boone is "overrated", but I prefer to use a companion because I like them, not because they're useful.

I like him, I sniped an entire legion base today, somehow a few found my location, boone got them, annoying when I am trying for new vegas samuri though. Spotter is useless, but he kills things well, and for that im happy. I think Boone and Ed-e are a good team for my sniper build, lilly annoys me, I cant unlock rauls cell, and acrade dies to soon.

Used all companions, minus Raul, and I do agree that Boone is defiantly the most overpowered of them all. If its anything besides a Deathclaw or Cazradors he usually kills it before I even get close enough to hit it. Fixing to switch to Raul for his pretty awesome perk.

Give Veronica an incinerator, she lobs fireballs at people from really far away with great accuracy. Then switches to melee when they get close.

i like Boone not only because of how he plays, but because it makes refrence to not only U.S. vets, but all people who go through war.A lot of vets, too many, suffer from pdsd,and other issues.Im glad they tried to point that out through him.

Veronica suffers a bug that even if she wear T51-b her DT would still be 7(WTF?), as I am not putting any mod one my 1st play through, that svcks.

Liliy is a good tank only if she doesn't repeat the same thing over and over again (guess that's what happen when you hung out with grandma).

Rose is kinda random, sometimes I think she actually drink the alcohol you gave her and she can handle a Legendary Cazador(!); but trip in Vault 34 she got swarm by Ghouls in matter of seconds.

Boone + Chainsaw + salvaged power armour = double win

Spotter is useful when the "night scope" actually DESTROY the colour difference for a clear shot.

His beret got cloned for me since I was still wearing it when it got removed from my inventory. It's pretty awesome having 2 guys walking around in 1st Recon berets.
