The BRINK satisfaction poll

Post » Sat Apr 02, 2011 11:27 am

this game is awful right now......If I buy a game that is multiplayer focused it should be good to go out of the box, no lag, allowing people to join as parties then search for maps, etc....this game has none of that, when I saw it getting slammed in reviews I thought that it couldn't be that bad, I was right cause it is worse, I would give this a 4.5/10 right now.

the textures are slow to load
its a multiplayer game that is unplayable cause of the lag
no party system
been delayed for 3 years and its still a P.O.S

Not every game comes straight out of the box not needing any tweaking, there is still hope for BRINK yet.

Man, you went all in. I applaud your bravery. I'm still riding the fence on this one. Been waiting for months for this release, but I can't get a true feeling of the value on this game. The threads and reviews are all over the map - they all come with the "it's a great game/it svcks - if only "blank" didn't occur." Based on the 3 forums I have been monitoring for the past two days - this is definitely a rent before buy (or buy used with the option to return [GS]).

yeah it was definitely a risk, it was either that or L.A. Noire, I'll get L.A. Noire eventually. But I've been a fan of Brink for a while and I just said heck why not go for it. The campaign is HORRIBLE, that's my only real gripe. SD made a multiplayer game first and attached a shotty campaign. I though the online portion would make up for it dramatically but it really doesn't. The objectives are all the same and pretty lackluster, but outside all of that, the game is genuinely fun after you upgrade your guy a bit and hop in some of the matches.

They really need team death match, capture the flag, and king of the hill, and a LOBBY, oh and dedicated servers for the consoles or vastly improved netcode. If it's just going to be the same objectives that are in the campaign I really doubt this game will last no matter how much we may like the premise of Brink. That's just honesty.

need more people to use their mics. I've only been in 2 games where folks communicated and it made things a lot better.

Good poll. Unfortunately I can't vote yet because I can't start to play before friday. But actually my anticipation for this game is 100% gone due to all these negative comments and reviews. I got the game yesterday but not sure if I'm gonna install it tomorrow. Maybe later when I'm in the mood. I've been playing computer games for almost three decades but something like THIS never happened to me. There are always negative things to say and no game is perfect. It's also a fact that there is always a troll who just enjoys to talk something down that is liked by others. But comparing all these things that were said in the reviews with the comments that have been made here in the forum let me think that Brink is indeed nothing else than overhyped and probably one of the biggest flops in gaming history. I really hope that I'm way off with this view but the atmosphere here is so bad. Sure there are a view positive comments but the main part just shredded the game. Although I will make my own opinion but this "can't wait to play"-feeling has vanished completely :(.

unsurprising since VOIP is turned off by default. Seems crazy nto me given the nature of this game. Oh well.

Brink is amazing, but the damn latency is atrocious, I've never seen lag this bad, even in Gears of War.

Game runs fine for me, it's pretty fun. But that doesn't mean the game is perfect, far from it. AI is terrible and it's clearly meant to be played with friends.

This is both good and bad. For one, it's started out just like Counter Strike did but better off, the mechanics of FPSs have changed. The difference is CS has had a long time support and I think this is where Brink's longevity will be determined. Enough with the DLC mentions, it's a horrific word that should not be used especially for PC gaming. Look, the reason why CS and TF2 exist TO THIS DAY is because of the community. Community, community, community. Without an SDK, this game will be forgotten in a few months; you've created a system we can't fully embrace because we can only do things the developers force us to do. While in comparison where Brink is superior to CS and TF2 in their Day 1 forms, these two games have had years of Valve's constant support while giving the players complete control of the game's engine to continuously evolve the dynamics of the game. Don't look at Black Ops thinking Gun Game makes it great, need people remind you that it started on Counter Strike Source.

I want this game to be great and it has the potential, but you're dooming your product by mentioning the dreaded three letter word that is a staple of marketing. If developers really cared, which initials like DLC tell us different, they would try to go the extra mile to ensure a perfect experience. I bet, instead of giving demos exclusive to PS3, the PC players got their hands on Brink; weeks ago these problems would of been fixed.

It was a poor decision on Bethesdas part, and it'll be redeemed if an SDK is released soon. Doesn't matter if the community bastardizes your engine, user created content is the direction and way of the future for gaming in general; so let us have it as quick as possible. It's a fun game, but you burn out easily because content is so limited. I stopped playing TF2 a month after it's release because of this same exact issue.

Can't answer it yet, because I don't have the game. Nonetheless, this looks like a good poll.

This, sadly.
