So is the X0-1 bugged?

Post » Mon Jan 18, 2016 7:16 am

I finally got my full X0-1 the other day but now random people are instantly hostile. I already knew about the intimidation bug related to PA but goes way further than that and only affects me while in X0-1. So far 2 different quests where you are supposed to talk to someone and try to convince them not to fight you have been instantly failed because they are auto-hostile...so is the armor bugged?

I haven't experienced anything like this, however I have noticed that sometimes in V.A.T.S it will show someone in red as if they were an enemy, when they in fact aren't. Seems to happen a lot with robots.

Now that I think of it twice I failed the USS Constitiuiton quest because the robot crew turned and randomly started attacking me while I was defending the ship

Ahhh, that explains a lot. Didn't attribute it to the PA tho! Couldn't understand why that sentry bot captain suddenly turned on me :D

Did you install the Targeting HUD in your X-01 Helmet? I've heard that causes issues, but I've never heard of or experienced regular X-01 armor giving people grief.

i did indeed, it is by far the coolest mod for the helmets...I would be very annoyed to find that it causes this...

The one that highlights enemies red. Apparently there's a weird bug with it where it can be considered a hostile effect on NPCs because of how it works. I know there's reported bugs of the Targeting HUD causing the boss of the Reunions quest to aggro immediately instead of engaging in dialog first.

Odd, I stopped using that though, highlighting everything red got real annoying real quick, engaging in dialogue with that thing on was like trying to have a conversation with a Christmas tree

I use the targeting HUD, never had this problem.

I've heard it's super-easy to get the USS Constitution 'bots to go aggro on the player though.

It can happen with or without the targeting hud for PA, regardless of PA variant. Though it seems random could be some improper code that accidentally fires making friendlies hostile to player.

I've had that mod on my X-01 since I got it and didn't have issues like OP. Although there were times where neutral/friendly NPC names would be red in VATS.
