The S.M.A.R.T. Button

Post » Mon Aug 16, 2010 11:25 am

I've watched all the instructional videos on the website, but i am unable to discover which button really is the SMART button. Is there even a button? Or do u just sprint at something and SMART responds automatically? :huh:

Yeah its like your sprint button but you look to where you want to go.

You can also do the parkour moves manually using a combination of the jump and crouch button

S.M.A.R.T = Sprint Button I believe.

SMART is a dedicated button on your controller/keyboard. When you press the SMART button, your character sprints until you stop. When you hold the SMART button, the game will try and read your character's intentions as you approach obstacles and it will do parkour moves to navigate around (holding also will let you sprint).

SMART and sprint share he same button, and can be mappable to any button on your controller or any key on your keyboard. Tap for sprint, hold for SMART; whatever you are looking at, your character will vault over, slide under, or wall jump across.

Hope I helped.

I saw when someone was opening the boxes and reading the instruction manuel or if you prefer 'ManWel', for the PS3 the default setting was L2, which IMO a weird button for running and S.M.A.R.T.

Tapping the left bumper or L1 makes you sprint and you can jump and do everything manually with the A button or you can hold the LB or L1 button to enable smart running which does all the cool stuff for you.

Get google goggles if you have an iphone or android phone, they solve them, lol.

i have a question, I play on PC, and will most likely be doing the smart moves manually, now clicking sprint and letting go while still sprinting works on console games, but I dont know anyone including myself that uses toggle sprint with PC games, and if the sprint and smart button are one in the same, this can be a problem when trying to do the smart moves manually, if you know what i mean, to fix this is there a way to make the smart button and sprint, not the same button (1 button for sprint and one for smart moves)?

if you tap the sprint button, you enter sprint mode until you tap it again or stop moving. if you hold the sprint button, you enter auto-SMART mode and jut have to look slighty in a certain direction to perform SMART moves OR tap a button. you can also tap the buttons to manual SMART before auto-SMART kicks in for a slighty faster move.

IPUR3 EVIL is right, the controls are fully customizable, so you can map any function to any key/button.

Hey everyone, this is my first post here, so go easy on me if I say anything stupid :P

I'm a really big fan of the L2 being sprint, because it let's me move my anolog stick without trying to keep it pushed in, and that seems to be essential in this game.

It'll probably take a little getting used to, but after that, i think it'll be the preferred method of sprinting by BRINK players.

Welcome! Have a turtle. :turtle:

Not a stupid post at all, that's precisely what the developers have been quoted as having intended. Though I may swap sprint to R2, since I'm used to it being there for Lost Planet 2 and SOCOM: Confrontation... I know there are a couple controls I'd like to be swapping around, like crouch.
