The Can Be Only One (Becoming Emperor)

Post » Thu Mar 27, 2014 12:29 am

I, like many of you I'm sure, am excited about the prospect of becoming Emperor of all Tamriel. However, it obviously is not a task suitable for one player to accomplish alone. I'm curious as to how communities of players might work to ensure that one of their own becomes Emperor.

Guilds who are coordinated enough might be able to identify a member with an insane skill in PvP and therefore help that player to ensure his reign. This adds a political aspect to the game, in many ways, something that no MMOs that I've encountered have had.

From the RP perspective, this adds a more bonding relationship to a player and his guild. The guild thats member is the Emperor himself/herself definitely gains credibility and is therefore more exclusive. A guild of the Emperor could ensure protection for the Emperor and even allow succession of the title of Emperor to remain within that Guild.

While this would be difficult and strategic, I am interested in your thoughts about this idea.

you don't get to pick who becomes emperor unless you rigged it as a guild. Which would, if my information is correct, take some serious effort. It's based on the leaderboards and one of the factions winning all 6 keeps.

I love the idea of this, I played a game that each alliance had a leader, was called twelve sky 2. He could give the alliance a buff and coordinate assaults. I personally don't look forward to being emporr and do not want it, I am a leader but when it comes to all of the realm id rather just follow orders, I was in the Navy so im better at following orders anyways. I think adding a political side to this war based game will be fun

Yeah, that part I understand. But Guilds, in theory could work to ensure that one of their own makes it, or recruit the one who is the closest. A "rigged" guild is perhaps too harsh a word, it is merely a strategy to gain both credibility for the guild and emperor for a player.

becoming emperor is far less about skill and a lot more about the amount of time you can be online

How long can one reign, 90 days or less? Sounds like too much trouble for too little reward.

True, having a limited social life is going to have a lot to do with becoming Emperor, lol.

From what I understand you also get a skill tree, unique to becoming Emperor, that makes you very powerful

That's one skilled individual emperor, not all of them will be this resilient.
