Name of Build: Assasin of Mass Murder
Race: Breton
Starsign/Stone: Paralysis for emergency
Small paragraph describing basic premise: An assassin who can kill a mass in a hurry. Use bow and arrow as sneak attack for hardest enemy, with x3 and a good bow it should normally take the enemy down for at least 1/4 health at start. At this point the fight should be easy. With magicka restore robes, as well as bonus to stamina, you can run around groups of enemies, Ive done this with 10 guards, and blast them with fireball. When you find yourself weak, run away cast invisbility, and sneak to a place where your sneak says hidden or (conjure an enemy and run back, use a shout to gain leisure). Here you can heal. Guards are quite easy without using the tactic later on, but if its a must it is a very useful strategy. Problems are it is slower way to kill sometimes and robes aren't heavy enough to avoid fus roh dah from drougers. Benefits are that it leaves room for you to specialize in more than just a few skills.
Major usage Skills and Minor usage Skills: Destruction/Archery/Restoration/Sneak, Minor Skill Enchanting/Smithing/Conjuration
Health, Stamina, Magicka (ratios or endgame stats): Health 200 Magicka: 600 Stamina: 310
General Perk Allocation: Destruction/Archery/Sneak, advised and optional conjuration and smithing
Character gear: Expert destruction robes, if you can double enchant then balance stamina to health with about 75: 25 %
Appropriate morality (optional, eg. Lawful Good for a Paladin) You sneak which is pretty much killing someone behind their back which isn't very chivalrous. Also you normally don't have to mass murder things. This is fit for an assassin who can mage their way out for an escape route.
Appropriate background (optional): Great for the Dark Brotherhood
Playstyle tips: Shown in basic summary
Picture (optional)

I love this cause it fits me, but every player has their own playing style, if you like it then great!

Pilgrim
Imperial
Steed (most would work, though)
Pious adventurer who makes pilgrimages to places of religious significance as well as other places. Also tries to rid the world of daedra and necromancy as well as help people in need.
Major: Restoration, archery and speech
Minor: Heavy armor, alchemy, enchant and illusion
4 health:3 magic:2 stamina
Pretty much any perks you want in any of the aforementioned skills, but be sure to take fists of steel.
Steel plate armor and an ebony bow of banishing
Neutral good
Use archery for long range and use fists for close quarter combat. Use speech and illusion whenever possible. Always have a good stock of potions and scrolls. A companion is helpful, so you can heal them and use your bow without getting harmed.

Here's a brief description of the various builds I've played with since release. Some I've created back stories for, others I haven't. Alignment is open to whatever meshes with your chosen back story, I'm only presenting my bare-bones builds. All builds are permitted to take "Arcane Smithing" to improve gear, but I generally steer clear of maxing out any crafting tree aside from Alchemy.

Smuggler
  • Focus: Archery, Stealth, Alchemy, Pickpocket
  • Restrictions:
    • No magic whatsoever, be it scrolls, staves, etc.
    • No beneficial potions-- poisons only.
    • No armor perks. The Smuggler is permitted to wear light armor at most, preferably unarmored. This makes game play simple: Stay hidden or die. Period.
Cleric
  • Focus: One Handed, Heavy Armor, Block, Restoration, Illusion, Alchemy
  • Restrictions:
    • Limited to Restoration magic and only buffs from Illusion (to buff companions)
    • Prioritizes quests at temples
    • Will complete and prioritize any quest from any God/deity regardless of alignment
    • Only beneficial potions allowed, no poisons
    • Maces only- no other 1h weapon. This is modeled after a D&D Cleric.
Summoner
  • Focus: Heavy Armor, 2 Handed, Conjuration, Enchanting
  • Restrictions:
    • bound battleaxe only-- no other weapons (this works better with mods for bound weapon scaling)
    • No magic aside from Conjuration and light Restoration for healing
    • Banned from Smithing and Alchemy, focuses Enchanting armor
Gladiator http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1348517-swordsman-long-back-story-included/
  • Focus: 1 Handed, Block, Alchemy, Light Armor
  • Restrictions:
    • Banned from all schools of magic
    • No Smithing or Enchanting
    • The class name is misleading, all 1h weapons are allowed
    • No heavy armor allowed
    • No shouts aside from Unrelenting Force

Okay so I made the Altmer conjurer and at only Lv9 and he is WAY more powerful than anything I've had before. It's insanely awesome and epic!

Race; Altmer

Stone; Ritual (or just stoned heh )

Base Overview; Relies exclusively on conjuration to summon both weapons and allies from Oblivion.

Skills; Every perk into conjuring, here http://skyrimcalculator.com/#86534

Attributes; 70% magicka, 30% health

Attire; Apprentice robes, apprentice hood, boots and gloves and a ring that increases my health by 20 as well as the Gauldur Amulet (very, VERY useful)

Personality; Typical arrogant Altmer, views most other races as childish and stupid (after all, who can amass true wisdom in a mere few decades???), hates Dunmer with all his heart and soul.

Back-story; Altmer mage who decided to further study conjuration in Skyrim. Nasty little mix-up near the border though.

Play-style/Morals; He is above any laws, save those set by the Dominion. Doesn't break them just for the heck of it though and will NEVER, EVER lower himself to theft or other petty crimes.

Tips; This is a very fun character for those who (like me) are lazy and prefer to watch others put on an excellent show but those who prefer to be in the thick of things may find it boring. I personally invested all perks into conjuration, and will later move on to one-handed. I normally summon a frost or flame atronach and then a blade and occasionally I help my servants in the fight. If your looking to play this character, then make sure you have a lot of magicka, and stay out of harm's way as you are not wearing armor. If preferred then one can study alteration to make up for this. I also have the awesome power of the Ritual Stone which can turn the tide of any battle by raising all nearby dead and putting them under your command, I don't really use necromancy other than that though. Some players will also choose to become vampires and this can help but I left it out, so far.

Again, I would like to say that this is possibly the strongest build in the game and if you know how to use it (a little Real-Time-Startegy experience can help), then you will wield awesome power. I recommend it to any pure-mage or just a warrior who wants some allies who aren't totally incapable of anything and go away after the battle (thank goodness!).

This seems like the most appropriate place to ask this. I would like some thoughts on this build as a Jack-of-All-Trades Mage without going into Enchanting. http://skyrimcalculator.com/#85501

Necromage is the only "wild card" I have as it depends on if I want to become a vampire or not, I'm leaning toward vampirism though.

That's a nice, solid mage build and IMO it's good you didn't go into any other fields as that can seriously weaken you (again IMO). I would personally ditch some of the destruction and invest in conjuration as destruction becomes utterly useless on higher levels, against tougher foes (that is, unless you have a tank companion, in which case it becomes quite the deadly-duo).

No companions for me, and there's only one more perk in Conjuration that would deal more damage but is breaks a certain artifact I like.

Elemental Potency would increase the power of my Atronachs but a certain artifact would cease to work, doesn't seem to be worth the perk to me when I have many other ways to do damage.

Name of Build : Murtagh, Spellblade
Race: Imperial
Starsign/Stone: Warrior (currently)
Small paragraph describing basic premise: Uses Destruction long range and switches to sword and shield for close range. If it's looking like a big fight, he'll use Alteration to fortify his defenses, and if things go badly, he'll stall and use restoration. Wards also will be used against long range opponents.
Major usage Skills: One-handed, Destruction, Alteration, Block, Restoration
Minor usage Skills: Light Armor, Sneak, Archery
Health, Stamina, Magicka: About even with some slight lean towards Magicka and Health
Character gear: Mage's Robes
Appropriate morality: Between Neutral Good and Chaotic Good, with a substantial lean to Neutral Good
Appropriate background:Imperial son to a once prominent Thalmor "ambassador" in Imperial City that was influential in the Great War and the White-Gold Concordat and known for ruthlessness against any supposedly "inferior" race. After his dad is killed and since his mom (an Imperial servant) has been missing since his birth, he escapes from the comfortable and privileged life of a noble, but also from his father's cruelty. His dad never really appreciated his son because of his race, and often regarded him as a mistake. But the son was trained in the magic arts and picked up swordfighting as well. He, as a teenager, witnesses not only the cruelty and oppression of the Aldmeri Dominion, but also the corruption of the Empire. He doesn't feel a particular loyalty to either the Imperials or the Stormcloaks, but he does resent the Thalmor. He is subdued and captured as he attempts to enter Skyrim, one of the few places left where the Thalmor haven't completely dominated things. (My character is loosely based on Murtagh from the Inheritance series.)

I have one question for the conjuration build up higher, and that is how would you be able to kill dragon priests with that build. Dragon priests turn you conjured against you, it basically suicide to summon. and since you have no other build of fighting, i would imagine you would die quite fast.

Heres my build I liked: http://www.skyrimcalculator.com/#88327

Destruction Mage

Breton

Atronach Stone

Throws up mage armor and maybe paralyzes, then uses destruction to take care of the rest and throwing in illusion as needed.

Uses destruction and alteration as main skills and illusion and enchanting as minor skills.

3:1 magicka and health

Maxed out destruction, alteration and illusion, only the basic perks, armor enchanting perks, and double enchanting perks.

Archmage robes and enchanted jewelry that boosts destruction and alteration

Try to get enchanting up quickly, frenzy + mass paralyze + blizzard = lulz

Totally up to you really, I prefer to use one-handed swords (conjured of course) in situations like these.
