The Chosen One?

Post » Fri Nov 13, 2009 10:13 am

I've encountered an NPC named "The Chosen One" several times now in NV. He'll appear, in T-45 Power Armor, no helmet, and with a minigun, he'll kill whatever is around and disappear shortly after. Has anyone else encountered this? I'm wondering if this was from one of the mods i'm running, or if it's vanilla. I've encountered him in 3 places, just outside of Nipton, in the river north of Cottonwodd Cove, and the last time was in the Misfit's tent at Camp Golf. I managed to activate the console and snap a pic of him just before he disappeared, the picture is [censored] i'll admit, but it was the best one I could get at the time. His reference number was "ff001542" as you can see in the picture.

There was a discussion topic on "The Vault" wikia about this. Other people have said they've encountered him and he acted in the same manner and looked identical to what I saw. I'm just hoping to figure out what is going on, haha.

I'd think He'd be running around in Remnants Power Armor rather than T-45d or at least T-51b.

I believe it was T-45 power armor. Also, I tried to kill him using the console when I took that picture, he still disappeared.

No mention of "chosen one" in The Vault in NV either. So it has to be a mod.

I wear T-45d. I also pass it to Cass when I want her to use melee attacks.

She's in http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36264 usually in my game, Don't give companions PA normally (only Veronica since BoS PA is available early and it fits her character.

I like Cass because of her reasonable body shape, and the fact that she cover herself up.

It happenend in 3 seperate places for me, in the discussion topic on the vault other people said it happened in a few different places for them. Also someone said that they've encountered the chosen one on the 360 version, which would make it vanilla if that's true.

it might be a mod, I just have no idea which one. The thing I found the strangest was the chosen one's PRID starting with "ff", I couldn't select him using the console after he disappeared.

Mod index of ffxxxx means he was spawned in your save. Usually through a levelled list.

And I did a search in the GECK and he's doesn't exist. It must be hidden in a mod somewhere.

An easy way to check which mod it is is to use FNVEdit and look through each mod's NPC heading. Sort by name.
