Figgin was born in Cyrodiil on the 17th day of the First Seed, about 20 years before the events of today Skyrim and the return of the Dragons. He was born to Vikrim Fordonia and Ileania Fordonia. His father was one of the last Dark Brotherhood Listeners in Cryodiil an his mother was said to be the Grey Fox herself. They lived in Anvil and were quite happy. Figgin's Grandfather, Alkarian Fordonia, lived during the Oblivion Crisis and had to perform the Purification of the Dark Brotherhood at the time and ascended to Listener as well. He was killed mysteriously by an unknown assassin in his sleep and that paved the way for Vikrim to take control. Rumor has it that it was Vikrim's blade that sent Alkarian to his death, but no proof has ever been proven to be the case.
Things were going well for Vikrim, until Figgin reached the age of 5 years old. Figgin loved Vikrim and aspired to be just like him. When Figgin turned 5, Ileania was savagely [censored] and killed by a band of Imperial Legion Soldiers who caught her stealing cyrodilic brandy from the Legion Barracks in the Imperial City. She had an insatiable appetite for the drink. Upon finding out she was the infamous Grey Fox, they had to set an example of her. After her death, she was hung by the waterfront as a symbol of what the imperials will do to those that broke the law.
Upon hearing the news of his wife's savage death, Vikrim knew he had to avenge her, but feared for Figgin's safety. Since there was no family left in Morrowind and due to their discreet lives they both led,, there was not many options for Figgin. With the demise of the Guild without the Grey Fox, Vikrim left Figgin in the old Cheydinhal Sanctuary in the care of his oldest assassin friend, Ja'Agusta, an Argonian Shadowscale. Vikrim set off for the Imperial City. That would be the last time Figgin saw his father.
Vikrim arrived in the city and found where the men who murdered his wife were through his contact in that city who was with the Dark Brotherhood. However, little did Vikrim know that this informant was arrested earlier that day and sold the brotherhood and his friend out to save his own hide. Vikrim walked right into the trap that was laid for him and he was caught and beheaded under his wife's hanging dead body. At the same time the Sanctuary was raided by Imperial Forces and every member of the Dark Brotherhood was killed. Figgin was placed in an old vampire coffin belonging to Vicente Valtieri until the attacks were over. When Figgin finally came out, they were all dead.
With most of the brotherhood dead and the rest on the run and hunted, the brotherhood was in disarray. Figgin found himself alone and scared and only 5 years old. He took to the sewers of Cyrodiil and learned to survive on his own. He did go and see his dead mother and father in the waterfront but only once, the display was too intense for him. Upon that visit, he heard the name Pelanius Sergitus, a Nord Soldier who was Vikrim's contact and betrayer, being praised for his actions in bringing down the Dark Brotherhood. That face and name will never leave Figgin's mind. The Imperials did search for the boy Figgin for quite some time but figured him for dead.
Figgin spent 10 years in the sewers of Cyrodiil. He became an accomplished thief in those years in order to survive. He does not go by his last name at all because of the notoriety of his mother and father. At the age of 15, he would set out for Morrowind to learn more about his heritage. He learned the ways of the Dunmer from an old but wise family friend of Vikrim's. His name was Clavius Dreth (son of Valen Dreth). Dreth taught Figgin everything about the Chimer and Dunmer and taught him the ways of the Assassin.
When Figgin turned 20 years old, he left Morrowind for Skyrim in search of one Pelanius Sergitus. He was arrested at the border as a suspicious character and possible Stormcloak. Figgin knew nothing of the war and could care less about it, but given his eternal hatred for the Imperial race, he was less than cooperative and attacked the soldiers. He was subsequently arrested and put on a cart with other rebel prisoners......
This is where the story begins.
