The Class thread

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 12:20 am

This needed to be made. How does everyone play this game? TELL US!
Based on the skillsets used. If you're not sure, just choose what you focus MORE on.
If you "don't fit" in this list then choose what is closest.

This is based on your favorite way to play not what any specific character currently is.

EDIT: A note on classes.... there are no classes in this game. Only 3 skill categories based on 3 generic classes.
Here are the categories and skills)
Warrior: smithing, heavy armor, block, two-handed, one-handed, archery
Thief: light armor, sneak, lockpicking, pickpocket, speech, alchemy
Mage: illusion, conjuration, destruction, restoration, alteration, enchanting

Warrior/Thief.

Being a Warrior is vital for pretty much any situation.

Being a Thief is great if someone has something you want/need.

I dont play as a mage much, but its decent.

There are as many classes as possible combinations of perks. I'm not going to list all possibilities. I'm listing the categories that matter.
Proper game design philosophy too. Only have what you need.

Ranger(Warrior/Thief)

Major Skills: One-Handed, Light Armor, Alchemy, Archery, Sneak

Minor Skills: Security, Speechcraft, Smithing

I'm planning on playing an all around class next run, basically a Light Battlemage or Spellsword, who uses One Handed, Destruction, Light Armor, Alteration and Enchanting.

If I can Sneak and backstab, I will.
If I can't or won't kill an enemy in one hit or there are multiple targets, I switch to Destruction.
Once I run out of Magicka, since it's usually at the end of the fight, just melee the rest.

Oh yeah, I also use the bow against game and dragons.

So... you tell me buddy.

Archer/Thief

Mage/Assassin

"Pure" Mage

Light Armor Warrior

Oddly enough, none of my "classes" fit into this neat poll.

Thief/Mage or leans towards Thief more.

Light Armor Warrior

To you and the previous quotee: Choose what's closest. I'm not going to list all possibilities. Choosing what's closest is just fine.
Go by the numbers on your actual skills.

I play many different characters but my favorite is the one I like to call the Barbarian. Warrior, Thief, Mercenary, King.

I generally go warrior, but last night I started a High Elf mage just for fun and am loving it. Conjuration is amazing.

Well, I'm level 45, and am pretty much as high level as I am going to be with my current character barring level ups from miscellaneous skill increases.

The final spread of Mastered skills is:

-Two Handed
-Heavy Armor
-Smithing
-Enchanting
-Alchemy

Therefore, I voted warrior, both because that's where the majority of my points are and because the two skills I use the most (Two Handed, Heavy Armor) fall under that category.

Primary archer... with a 1hand+shield combination for when they catch me, and alchemy for potions during a fight, with restoration for after the fight and destruction for hunting animals and/or softening up trolls.

You tell me, OP. You tell me.

since archer is warrior and alchemy is technically mage, you are warrior/mage leaning towards warrior. Archer is not a category, it is a single skill in the Warrior category.

I deem thee.... WARRIOR/MAGE!

I picked warrior/thief, but I'm not sure if that's what you mean.

My Khajiit is primarily a stealth character (thief), but uses a bow, and sometimes -- when the bloodlust is upon him -- he breaks out the dual swords and carves it up (warrior).

I am not ruling out magic-use, it just hasn't been a focus yet.

Did I get my poll response right?

I love playing my TES Ninja class in Skyrim because of the dual wield system. Now I can fully utilize my dagger and illusion spells fluidly.

I'm a Demigod. I am a master of all skills, There are no classes in this game and it svcks. You have to RP in your own head if you want a class. My guy in full steel armor with a sword and shield who has never picked a lock in his life can grab a lockpick and pick a Master lock in 1 attempt. My rogue who sneaks around pick pocketing people can grab a book of fireball and start blasting like he's done it his whole life. My little mage who spent his whole life studying spells and enchanting can walk outside, grab a battleaxe and iron armor, and turn Conan on someone like he's been in melee combat since he was a kid.

They should've never removed the major/minor/misc. skills.
