I have it pre-ordered but I am kind of having second thoughts. I keep asking myself, "Is the map good enough for me or do I want that big dragon statue?"

It's like £120 or something £130. I would never pay that much for a single game.

In my opinion.. Yep. But someone preordered it before me at gamestop and now i can't get it unless i buy it on ebay. -_____- And gamestop was the only place that had the CE of Skyrim in Italy. It's worth it for me('cos probably i would have paid the CE with the money my parents/relatives gave me for my birthday and Christmas eheh).. Guess i'll have to be content with the common edition, those DLCs and a guide..

What does it have that the regular edition doesn't have? An artbook, making-of dvd and the dragon statue? That's not worth more than the game itself IMO.

Hell I can get the game for 30-40 euros and the CE is 150 euros here.

No. Its very nice, but not at the price.

What price would you expect them to sell a Collector's Edition like that?

Game - $60
Making-of DVD - $10
200 page Hardcover Art Book - $35+
12" High Quality PVC statue of Alduin, made by IP factory - $45+

You're looking at a very reasonably priced CE, I just think that Bethesda shouldn't have put together a CE that has such a high retail value.

Actually, you can't.

You're typing your post about not being able to buy the CE on the biggest store in the galaxy, the internet. There are several non-auction website where you can buy the game online.

Yes, after the price drops Allot, and who knows how long that will take.. lol

It could be a long time.

Since the TESIV:Oblivion ones are still going for $150.00 USD on Amazon, they have two that are New for that price.

If the CE had the soundtrack, maybe, but still it wouldn't be worth 149 bucks. Though, if the soundtrack will be sold separatly, it shall be mine. Forever.

Its' more up to the individual, but personally I think it's not even close. You can see the making-of on you-tube. It doesn't even have a soundtrack. All it has is a foot tall plastic dragon that makes it cost 150 bucks.

Its a shame really. I really wanted that art book.

this, if it was 80$ like the fallout new vegas collect then that would be worth it, but imo im not paying a extra 90$ for a book and cloth map...its a rip off and as much as i like bethesda this is just another way for them to take advantage of real elder scrolls fans

Nope.I said that there are not nearby stores that have the CE available, and "the biggest store in the galaxy" apparently doesnt offer a price good enough for me,given that im just 15,i do not want to order the game on ebay for like 150 €(im european) + shipping costs. And i wont probably get the game on 11-11-11. And there's a good chance i get [censored] by a swindler.

You're looking at a very reasonably priced CE, I just think that Bethesda shouldn't have put together a CE that has such a high retail value.

Parts of, or all of, the making of DVD will eventually be posted online - and we have already seen videos on the sound production etc. on Youtube.

The Art Book looks cool, but I'd rather just buy it on its own. And the Statue just looks like every other mundane dragon statue I've ever seen in any hobby or fantasy games shop. Go to Google Images and type in 'dragon statue'. Alduin's statue is beyond generic. The idea of including a statue is great, but the subject matter and execution leave me wanting.

But I agree with you that Bethesda shouldn't have put together a CE that required this pricing.

My thoughts exactly. I'll get the art book on Ebay or something at a later date.

A new Elder Scrolls game comes out every 5 years or so. I played Oblivion for all 5 of those years as its still on my desk to this day. I surprised Elder Scrolls games only cost $60 because compared to other games, you get far more content. In saying that, the CE is worth it....get it

Oblivion is garbage, mang.

On topic:

It's only worth it if you're confident that you will like every ounce of this game and are willing to give Bethesda the extra money to improve on future games.

In my opinion, this would make the game alone worth the price they are charging for the CE. However, they're being kind enough to offer a version that's 60% less expensive.

Anyway, the CE is a nice package, and I don't begrudge anyone who wants to have it. But for me, the extra material doesn't justify the price hike. I'm giving Bethesda my money for the game, not for stuff I can look at outside of it.

Frankly, I think I'll be SICK of looking at Skyrim stuff that isn't Skyrim by the time 11-11-11 rolls around.

I want everything that comes with it except for that stupid statue. I don't want some cheesy dragon statue in my house. I wish they'd get rid of it and make a cheaper version at gamestop.

No. Horribly overpriced and you'll find loads of other games having collectors editions with much more stash to a much lower price.
