One question, will this mod get rid of the horrible Cloud ruler castle look? Never understood why an Imperial castle would look like that, even though the Empire is kinda Roman/Greek looking, the castle just seems out of place with everything else since the Empire isn't Asian themed.

After an short "alliance with the empire Akavir left behind alot of different stuff.. including the flag of the empire, the organisation of it's army, weapon and armor styles, and even architecture... and see there Cloud Ruler...

Cloud Ruler Temple's Asian style should remain as according to lore and that is Oriental/Akaviri

I guess it's time I post some screenshots of some of the work done so far.

The screenshots are taken from within the Athynia Shrine. This shrine can be found in a very remote location built inside a mountain. Since there are little to none legion patrols in the area it is unlikely that the Mythic Dawn is going to be found in this shrine anytime soon, if at all. The screenshots are from the Athynia Shrine's Main Hall.

The shrine is divided in the following sections:
- Entrance
- Main Hall
- Administration & Library
- Armory & Practice Rooms
- Prison Hall
- Torture Hall
- Upper Levels
- Master Bedroom
- Dining Room

I think that's already a tad more realistic than Bethesda's Lake Arrius Caverns layout I suppose :P

TradeMark CloudTopTemple can hold off than army, first than any game to be playable you cannot have hundred's blades there as it would show down computer. Second there where many castles and forts that where very hard to capute. Being locate on than very hight mountain top with only one side being ready apportable up than swithback trail with sleep angle of travel. Your idear sound good.

Currently stuck in an exam period till March. Yay for European ATPL exams... My friend is still working on the Athynia shrine at the moment though.

I am aware that you can't have 100 NPCs in the game, however, there is room for more than the default. As for the new locations, they're perfectly feasible.

Alright a little update on what's going on. The mod is still going, my friend is currently doing most of the work, still on the Athynia shrine. I havem't really had the time to do anything due to those bloody exams. Fortunately, I've passed the first 6 exams out of 8 (6 in February, 2 in March) so far with really good scores. Most of the load if off my back now seeing as I only have to study for two exams instead of 6. In any case, I'm planning to some screenshots from my friend in a few days. I didn't really keep track of how far he got, but I imagine he has got a fair bit of work done already,

Don't let my silence fool you people, I'm a ninja :ninja:

Here are some new screenshots of the Upper Halls in the Athynia shrine. Basically this is where the Dawnies can hang out and rest, or just read a book in peace. The dawnies share rooms with the exception of some who are fortunate to have their own room. There's also a bar. It's precense is greatly appreciated by the "soldiers" of the Mythic Dawn.

Please make this mod compatible with Darkrder's upcoming "Sancre Tor"-addon. I highly appreciate the aspect to be forced to make choices that really affect the storyline. Anyway, keep up the good work!

I don't know what that mod changes (not the full details at least), but I assume it touches factions and locations in a significant way. Compatibility may be possibility with the help of esp mastering, but the problem is that such a patch would be a rather complex one. Not sure if it's even worth the development time. Right now, we're just focussing on getting this mod done, which is already time consuming. It's really too early to tell I'm afraid.

Yes, we attempt to create detailed interiors which have traces of "people" living in them. Although Oblivion is fairly limited when it comes to real liveware-hardware interaction, good interior design can make up for it. For the most part at least.

In any case progress is good so far. Even with the limited time he has, he managed to put a good amount of work in it. And it pays off, I'm satisfied.

I've been thinking of a potential list of enemies and I could use some input. There are quite a fair amount of factions that really do not like the idea of having the Mythic Dawn or Mehrunes Dagon in charge. Among them are of course the Blades and the Empire. Now that's all fine and dandy, but I was hoping I could come up with a more interesting enemy besides just those two or other common factions (Nine divines, fighters guild and whatnot). I expect that by the time the Mythic Dawn is back to full power they're going to have to deal with more than just the Empire and the Blades. I can see the Empire employing the services of the Fighter and Mages guild if things get real ugly to keep their numbers up. No doubt the Nine Divines affiliated factions would also join in to help. It's also not unthinkable that other Daedric princes don't really like the idea of sir Dagon and the Mythic Dawn changing things to their liking.

I've been doing a little digging to see if I could find anything that could be added as an interesting enemy, something or someone who hasn't been seen before in the TES games, but is present within TES lore. I came across Ebonarm. Ring any bells? No? Well not surprising.

From the VERY limited information available, Ebonarm is the god of war and he pretty much is the enemy of all Daedric princes and he apparently seems to dislike the temple of Stendarr and the Cabal (which is apparently a subfaction of the mages guild). He seems to be a lot more positive about the Fighter's guild.

I can't really find any information on wether he's Daedric or Aedric, but whenever he is named, he's always called God of War.

Here's a quote from one of the books available in Daggerfall:
. . . . The ground shakes. The great armies continue to wage their unrelenting battle. The battlefield is red, the rivers flow crimson, the sky reflects a deep pink. In the distance lightning flashes, and thunder sounds. Two huge ravens begin circling the field; their blackness is vibrant against the various shades of red in this vista of death and suffering. The bright lashes of light and rumbling begin to increase. The redness surrounding the battlefield begins giving way to a golden glow from the east, almost like a summer's setting sun. From the false sunset a massive golden stallion and single rider approach. All become suddenly still on the field of battle as both sides recognize Reymon Ebonarm, God of War, and the companion and protector of all warriors, also known as the Black Knight and his mighty steed War Master.

. . . . He rides into the middle of the blood soaked field and dismounts. He is a very imposing figure. His very tall and heavily muscled body is encased in ebony armor. His ebony helmet does not hide the flowing reddish blonde hair and beard which appear almost as shimmering gold, nor does it shield the steel blue eyes that seem to pierce all they fall upon. In his left hand he carries a massive ebony tower shield on which is emblazoned a fiery red rose. As he raises his right arm, all see an arm and a magnificent ebony blade which are extensions of each other. The fused arm and sword are a result and symbol of the wounds suffered by this god during titanic battles in the youth of this world.

. . . . The ravens come to rest on his shoulders. And, as the point of the ebony blade seemingly touches the sky, lightning flashes, thunder roars. Then total quiet descends and a shudder rolls through both armies.

. . . . The leaders of both armies approach Reymon Ebonarm and kneel. In turn they tell their reasons for this war. Each asks for the favor of the Black Knight for their cause. Reymon Ebonarm listens, but there is no acknowledgment that he has chosen to favor one side or the other in this fight. However, each of the leaders has heard the other state his position. And, each now knows that this war is baseless. They embrace and turn to their armies. They instruct their forces to bury their dead, tend their wounded and return to their homes.

. . . . Reymon Ebonarm mounts his great golden stallion, War Master, and again raises the ebony blade skyward and extends the huge rose emblazoned ebony shield to both armies. A massive chorus of cheers rises from the armies. The ravens again take to the air. Lightning and thunder follow him as he rides into the sunset followed by the two birds.

. . . . The armies do as they have been bidden. They care for their wounded and bury their dead. As they retreat towards their homes each warrior is sure that the great God Reymon Ebonarm, the Black Knight, has responded to their individual prayers for intervention. Each side has won, neither has lost.

. . . . As the armies depart the field, the rivers begin to run clear, and a single red rose begins to bloom near the grave of a fallen hero.

In any case, he's an enemy of Mehrunes Dagon and that gives him a good reason to piss good ol' Merhunes off. Why didn't he bother doing so during the Oblivion Crisis? Well he obviously saw the soon to be Champion of Cyrodiil in action and realized it wasn't neccesarry to interfere. With the Champion of Cyrodiil fighting for the red camp, the balance is upset and interference is required. That would explain his interference wouldn't it?

If there are any lore buffs available to comment on this I'd greatly appreciated it, I'd rather not [censored] the available lore, I'm only willing to build on it or blend in.

Sorry if this sounded somewhat incoherent.

Yoah, Trademark..you're brillant. Finding Ebonarm is great thing, since now my paladins have a new but lore friendly God to fight for..I"m going to go retexture some armor & cloaks soonest (soon as I decide to use either an armored arm holding a sword or a red-rose as the symbol)! Please do include him & his Devotees somehow into the your Mod. Even though Servant of the Dawn already allows does alot of all this on the evil side of things, having both Good & Evil (pronouced "eee-vil" :) clearly represented would set your mod apart and possibly increase its overall appeal. I'm all about variety & more development of vanilla Oblivion, so even just increasing the number of Mythic Dawn places to raid is desirable. I'll be watching developement of this mod closely..Thanks again & Good Luck!

I hope my friend and I can work out a proper way to implement him. Keep in mind though that Reymon Ebonarm is not entirely "good". He can be considered an enemy of Stendarr, the god of Mercy. Also keep in mind that this mod is mainly aimed at evil players not good ones. You won't actually be fighting the Mythic Dawn, you will be fighting for them instead. Thanks for the input!

Also I've been nagging my friend about sending me some more screenshots, got the whole bunch today. Basically all he has to do is finish the prison area and dining hall and I'll take care of the library and administration. Will also have to do pathing and stuff like that, but that shouldn't take any longer than a measly hour.

Updated the first post with a progress tracker. This should give you a rough idea of how we stand. Keep in mind though that it is really rough and does not give an accurate indication time-wise.

Do you and your friend plan on doing this entire mod yourself?

As for the Ebonarm idea, I think this would be a way to enhance the mod to more than what you currently have going on for you. Perhaps as the Mythic Dawn begins the skirmishes in the cities of Cyrodiil, you begin to have the tale of Ebonarm's warriors unfold before you. You will see them in places, and cutscenes, etc. But you will not actually fight any of them until much later in the mod--perhaps after a few battles with the Empire. They could be very strong, with some kind of magical helmets or some sort, and all ebony armor (as a pun).

But I think the epicness of this mod could be enhanced greatly if you decided to shift the focus onto another enemy. Fighting the Empire will be old stuff, and you could turn this into an amazing quest mod.

As for your plan, I see a few details, but I think it might actually be a good idea to write everything out before-hand--all of the NPC's, the scenes you will include, everything. Then you could turn to other modders for help in implementing different stages of this product.

Of course, this all depends on how big you want this mod to be, but you might get a lot more support if you think of an entire plan--no matter how large it is.

If you have any needs for help on writing quests, or the mod, or cutscenes, etc., I would be willing to help. Heck, I'd write a novel on this if you wanted me to.

Just some suggestions for you. The bases look great, btw!
