LET'S MAKE THIS WORK PEOPLE!

Okay, now as anyone could see there are HUNDREDS of tech threads floating around in CD - ranging from questions about graphics hardware, to questions about pricier graphics hardware and other tech such as monitors, hard drives and Processors to announcement threads of new technology and more. (I accede - I'm not being very eloquent here)

Any questions you have, tech news or ANYTHING related to buying/selling/information/announcements of new hardware should go here.

For example, if you come to the forums to ask "What is the better graphics hardware" or "What sort of RAM should I put in my PC?" then it should go here - I'm a little hazy, I know - but please keep all those graphics card and tech questions to one thread! Please!
So here's the summary, all:
  • Announcements and queries on new or unreleased tech
  • Benchmarks and results of hardware/discussion
  • Questions on what sort of hardware you need/want for your machine
  • Questions about existing tech and/or function
  • Pricing and recommendations
Should be kept to THIS THREAD.

This has been A-okayed by CCNA for all who were wondering - it's up to you to stop filling CD with the same topics again and again that ask what the most powerful card in existence is so you can (not) buy it.

If you feel you have a question or can answer one - please feel free to do so.

Thanks all.
Adding more links shortly, thank you for your patience.

(Threads 1-85 have been all pruned, may they rest in peace)

Do I also have to put a big glowing neon sign to this in my signature? THERE ARE TOO MANY TECH THREADS - THIS IS NOT A FORUM FOR YOUR TECH WOES!

But we will gladly help you anyway.

Oh and PLEASE, if you want us to "Build" you a PC, please indicate the following:
1.) your budget in your country's currency
2.) what country you reside if not listed in your avatar area
3.) pre-assembled PC? ...or can you build your own?
4.) what is needed other than the PC tower? Monitor, speakers, mouse, keyboard, Windows OS disc? All these can jack up the price.
5.) product preferences, preferred seller, and intended aim

but please, no "I want teh superererest Peecee evar1!!!!11!1", because really, only Bill Gates has that much moolah.

And, speaking of building your own PC, two sets of good how-to videos from Newegg:

OK, i have some problems getting connected to the forums anyway...

@Minamir

What i want to say about the two previous configurations:

First of keep that in mind: Not going to see a world of difference between the two CPUs...its only .1 GHz which can be achieved through the chips turbo boost feature (So, what Tig Ol Bitties say)

-----------------------

Secondly the GTX 760 is faster than the GTX 660.

That means:

Higher memory bandwidth: 192.3 GB/s vs 144.2 GB/s

Higher texture rate: 94.1 GTexel/s vs 78.4 GTexel/s

More render output processors: 32 vs 24

Wider memory bus: 256 bit vs 192 bit

More texture mapping units: 96 vs 80

----------------------

This calculates to frame-rate differences between those two GPU's.

Far Cry 3: 41.5 fps vs 32 fps

Battlefield 3: 103.4 fps vs 82.5 fps

Crysis warhead: 49.8 fps vs 39.6 fps

(Those frame-rates can change accordingly what CPU and what drivers do you choose. !!!!) - (But more or less, there is a difference between those two.)

...meaning you will gain more, buying the GTX 760 with the i5-4440 CPU. !!!!!

Thanks guys, the framerate difference speaks much more than GB/s or bits. I'll probably need to save on RAM and get 4GBs, with the possibility to upgrade to 8GB total later on. I'm already stressing my budget, as I'll be buying all internal PC parts + operating system (I'll take monitor and other peripherals form my current rig).

--The first thing you should consider is RAM. !!!!!

You can have super components installed and because your lower ram, you system will be generally slow. !!!!!

And you can have a decent configuration with quiet a lot of Ram installed, and your system will be very responsive. !!!!!

For the first step 4 GB of Ram is enough. (I assume you have a 64-bit system). Later if you have some money left you can buy another 4GB module. !!!!

(Ram cost's not too much so there will be no problem)

--Secondly i would prefer a GPU change for the big first change, because i thing today games (especially games with heavy physics) relying on a fast Graphical Processor Unit.

It's better to have a far better GPU, as opposite.

I mean, it's much preferable to have a Dual Pentium at 2.9 GHz and a GTX 660, as an i7 and a GT620. !!!!! (you got the picture anyway. !!!! lol)

--Last but not least, and that's very important: your PSU. Don't underestimate the PSU.

In fact this is one of the most important hardware piece in a PC, because every hardware component relies on it. It provides your PC and all of it’s components with the power it needs.

The mobo, the memory, all your hard-drives, DVD burners, fans etc. etc.
