It's a cute idea, but I'm not sure I see the difference, really. We're still all going to list our favorites in the positive categories and our least faves in the 'negative' categories.

I don't get this one. Last I knew, she has the exact same stats as your 'most efficient' Boone.

And her perk is better.

I'd say Boones is the worst. It's pretty much the standard stock Hollywood movie and war game character. "I'm a scarred war vet, lost my wife, I got this gravelly voice so I can look like a hard ass, and I'm an emo kid minus the swoopy hair"

Apart from Arcade, Raul, and Rex. I don't care for most of them, the only one I can't stand is Veronica, she act's like a child.

Edit: Also, if you want to say whos dumber, Boone has the second lowest int. IE, He has a 3 INT, it's pretty sad when the only competition for 'dumbest companion' is you and a dog, IE Rex, who has 2 INT.

I gotta be honest, there are some missions I wouldn't have passed if it weren't for Boone. That being said, he svcks at any position but long range.

I like Cass because of her wit, especially that remark about "Long dike Johnson", but her weapons aren't very practical.

I hate the whole Robin Hood thing Veronica has going on, so I put her in some power armor to get rid of that ridiculous outfit and make her power fist seem less bulky. For whatever reason, I actually hate Veronica, mostly because of that giddy phrase she uses every time I access her inventory.

Rex is awesome, especially with that "aggressive" brain. I like the idea of his perk, though I haven't made use of it yet.

I haven't gotten to Raul yet, but from what I've read he sounds like he'll be my favorite so far. Nice perk, nice weapons, and he's got an accent.

Fun fact: All companions and some random NPC's are part of the Don't Taze Me Bro faction so the robot guards don't murder them when they go through the gate in Freeside to enter The Strip.

I've only dealt with Veronica and Boone, Veronica was murdered by a pack of Night Stalkers(?) and Boone was murdered by me. Next playthrough I'll have to check out the others.

ED-E is my overall favourite companion, his perk is the most useful of all the companions IMO. He is even better if you use the "ED-E avoids traps" mod [http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38886] , I prefer this to the "Light Step ED-E" mod [http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35526] as he will still set off mines(they are proximity weapons after all).

Veronica is my favourite humanoid companion.

Yeah Boone kinda svcked for me.
Didn't have good damage output, missed a lot of shots, had bad personality, annoying quest requirement, and he died way too easily against everything.

Most efficient is Raul to me.
He has a lot of health and put a good armor on him and he's nearly unstoppable, he needs to get enemies to mid-range but once he does his default weapons is a beast.
An he's also the funniest to me.

Yeah....that's it for me too. Something about her voice and mannerisms I really don't like. Which surprises me because I usually like the actress that voices her. :/ I've tried and tried to complete her quest but I can't to listen to her long enough. She's good enough in combat tho.

All the other companions I think are fine in terms of combat and are at least tolerable in personality. Cass never shuts up and I don't like her quest/her quest doesn't inspire me at all, but if I need another gun I'll take her along because she's as awesome in combat as Boone. Cass/Boone/Arcade make a great fighting combo (using a mod). Heheh.

I dunno. I gave Ronnie the Ballistic Fist and Tri Beam Laser and I just follow her through caves and vaults. The only thing she is not good at is Cazdors, she will not stay ranged when they get close. Rex and Ronnie cleaned out Vault 24, I don't think I killed anything.

No, you're not alone. I think Veronica is very sweet. My only thing about Veronica and the reason I said most annoying is because of her comment(s) when you open her inventory. I open inventories a LOT. Sometimes it's so they'll carry something but it's most often to check on their weapon that I gave them and how much ammo they have left. With Veronica it was also campfire ingredients. If the companion complains when I access inventory, it gets really annoying. It's not always about how much weight they have to carry and when I get the dress, she'll get it. It's often so they have what they need in combat. This is another reason I love traveling with Boone and ED-E so much. All Boone ever says is "Fine by me" when you access his inventory. He'll carry anything he's asked to carry without complaint. He steps up. ED-E too although for all I know, he might be complaining.

Lol. As a Boone hater myself this gave me a good chuckle. But I would have to agree, Boone is not a very compelling character.

I think Arcade and Raul are the most interesting. Raul has my fav back story, even if I'm turning into a bit of a ghoul hater.

there's something about a ghoul wandering the world unable to die of old age and trying on different personas I thought was very interesting. Made me think of what a non feral ghouls life in the fallout universe is really like. That is, when I'm not shooting at them. :biggrin:
