It's illusion.

You can see the "ion" quite clearly, only 5 magic skills are there, we know they are grouped together so that's all it can be. =/

I wanted to facepalm when I saw that heavy and light armor are still separate skills. They streamline the weapon skills into 1H and 2H with perks for specialization, but they don't combine the armor skills? And can someone explain to me why a pure stealth character would need armor of any type? The only reason I can think of is for backup when they engage in combat.

Wearing plate armor is completely different than wearing chain or leather.

And what the Christ would be the point of single armor skill, why wouldn't you use it?

You don't, and that's why light armor is already on the list of confirmed skills. How about reading it next time before jumping in to tell us how it's obviously light armor?

Sorry, I accidentally missed something. What's your problem?

I expect security to be merged into sneak
I expect mercantile and speechcraft to be merged into one

That still leaves 2 open spots for stealth

Combat:
Smithing - Heavy Armor - Block - TwoHanded - OneHanded - Archery

Magic
Illusion - Conjuration - Destruction - Restoration - Alteration - Enchanting

Stealth:
Light Armor - Sneak - ? - ? - Speechcraft - Alchemy

So, we are left with two unconfirmed skills in the stealth tree. Quite a surprise to me.

Stealth skills in previous games were Acrobatics, Hand to Hand, Mercantile, Security and Short Blade. We know that Acrobatics and Hand to Hand are out, and I don't think they will create another skill just for daggers, which leaves us with Mercantile and Security.
However, when compared to the other skills, both options seem quite lacking. Mercantile is basically just a branch of Speechcraft, and Security's only function is to open locked chests and doors, which can be easily accomplished with Alteration spells (and that skill is infinitely more useful). So, either they come up with better uses for Mercantile and Security, or introduce some new skills.

Any thoughts?

I think it would be wrong to leave lockpicking out. While alteration can accomplish this, lockpicking is important to people who want to play as thieves. That is just removing choices. So I'm not sure we can eliminate lockpicking as a possible skill.

Now, you listed the stealth skills from previous games. But whose to say they won't invent one or two others?

Lockpicking should be merged into sneak. With so few skills it's stupid to waste one on what has previously been a crap, largely useless skill. It was useless in morrowind, it somehow managed to get even more useless in oblivion and it will likely be useless in skyrim too.

I disagree that Security should merge with Sneak. While it is true that our characters will often attempt to pick locks from a stealthy position, the act of sneaking and the act of lockpicking are two separate acts. Furthermore, there are other useful acts that could appear and would best be categorized under Security, such as disarming (or identifying) traps, locking (not just unlocking) doors and chests, or even reducing your chances of being pickpocketed by mischievous AI.

Mercantile may see expanded uses with the new trades and economy in Skyrim and has good reason to be included, but it stands a comparatively better chance of being merged. If so, I'd expect an Outdoors, or an aforementioned Athletics-y skill, to replace it.

I don't like Archery being under the combat tree now, even making sense...
makes me feel like the stealth tree being underpowered when compared to the other 2
i could be wrong though (and i hope i am) but i still get this bad feeling :(

I'm hoping for a skill something like, "Physicality" or something. Something that can cover unarmored, athletics, acrobatics, and hand-to-hand.

Martial Arts.

The problem with a Martial Arts type skill is that it might go against the motivation for removing Athletics and Acrobatics. It sounds like Bethesda did not want the player to have to worry about increasing skills by jumping and running.

What would be a plausible Martial Arts type skill is if it were more like a Dodge or Unarmoured skill, where your character had certain abilities to evade attacks in combat. Increasing the skill means you can perform them more quickly, or perhaps with greater distance/power. And there are perks for different evasive moves. That's a plausible Thief/Stealth skill; it returns content from Oblivion (if there's no Acrobatics skill, what happens to the dodge perk in Acrobatics?); and there's scope for a bunch of interesting perks.

But if there is such a skill, it's not clear which one of Mercantile or Security have been merged.

Security is definitely one of them. What good is being a thief if you can't pick locks.

So Illusion is both in Magic and Stealth now :P ? My money is on Illusion not being in Stealth.

Dodging would make sense as one of the stealth skills.

Not sure but I would think archery would be a stealth skill along with security and light armour will porbably instead be listed as a warrior skill.

Which still leaves us with 1 missing skill, which is almost 100% certain to be merchantile or something similar to fit in the stelth tree.

No in the g4 vid I think it nis... we see ALL the combat skills and one stealth skill...

So we know archery is combat and that light armor is the first stealth skill.

This opens up the very real likelyhood that mercantile made it and we know lokcpicking is in somehow tho not its name.

Merchantile and Security, must be that. But I do not understand how speechcraft can be a separate skill with 15 perks o_O
