[PC] "The connection to your opponent has been lost"

Post » Thu Jun 02, 2011 10:25 pm

Use the search box dude it's a bug with the game, so don't set your graphics too low for comfort. And hackers get the order of the boot from decent server admins :)

Although some people have a genuine issue with routers and get round it by enabling DMZ. If that's the case have a look Here

Been looking man hard to find a solution that someone with my same setup has used like regarding windows 7 and the type of router or whatever they use, it seems most people that have this problem has a DLink router so it could be my router but I never had this before or directly after the patch, just the last two days. Not sure what router my woman has or which one my buddy had either, I'll have to look into it.

my pc is connected directly to modem with 50 meg virgin media. SO NO WIRELESS ISSUES. But I still get kicked after 5 minutes with the same annoying message. So it is not us, IT IS THE DUMB F#CKS at CRYTEC. They need to sort this problem out and that of the HACKERS!!!!! How long now?? We all need to stop questioning our PC's and home set up. Its not us its them!

Hate when you do good games, you get a good record, then bam booted it doesn't count, join a hacker's game and your K/D is all shagged up and then that one gets counted! I've got a bad KDR because of this.

Manually entering ports doesn't help either. I have it done - issue still occurs.

Yesterday I had a game with a friend though - he was a squad leader, and we joined about 5 servers - no problem with any.
Half an hour before I tried games myself - 4 servers, each got "The connection to your opponent has been lost" - 5th connection worked.

Closed thread? I am not sure... The server might disconnect me sometime. But things are going brighter recently.

Edit: Wait! I still can't redeem my LE code on my account because I can't login to gamesas.com with the account I log into Crysis 2. Please help.

I can `t play in the crisis 2 with my son because that game always crashes says you lost connection to the opponent. We are both connected to one router and the DMZ can be configured to only one Computer. But we bought 2 license disk has 2 registry keys. Why we can not play together ? Any idea how i can configure my dlink dir-615 for play crysis 2 online from 2 PC behinde one router ?

my provider can give me only one static adress and i use router to play with my son.
i have no problems with steam games , we can play tugether behinde one router from 2 pc but in crysis we can not why ?

I know when I played COD and I had this problem I would have to set a different net port. This being steam you would have to change the launch properties of crysis 2.

Go here to lean how to set launch properties: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=1040-JWMT-2947

Use this command with out qoutes "+set net_port PORT HERE". Replace PORT HERE with the port you want to try and use. Just make sure the port is different then the one the other pc is using.

Hope it works for you.

Am I the only one who frequently get this?

It never happens in other online games I play so I have no idea what the issue could be here...

I can't even seem to finish a game at this rate - this error is EXTRA annoying when I'm doing really well in a match.

you're not the only one. but Crytek has yet to announce this as a known "Bug" that they are working on. Its extremely frustrating getting these network errors.

You guys aren't alone, thats for sure. 98% of the time I can't maintain a connection for longer than 2-5 minutes. A few times I've actually managed to play a map or two. But those instances are few and far between. Whats funny is that I didn't have this problem with the demo.

This is what I've tried - opening all the recommended ports, enabling DMZ, turning off all firewalls and anti-virus, completely bypassing the router and plugging directly into the modem, and uninstalling/reinstalling the game. Regardless of what I change, my NAT remains at Moderate and the disconnects still happen.

What I really think it is is that the game has been configured with very tight variances for bandwidth fluctuations. It doesn't like fluctuations and will disconnect the connection when the bandwidth variation falls outside the configured parameters. I'm forced to use a line-of-sight Wireless broadband service (1.5MB down) that terminates into ethernet at the antenna. I'm plugged directly into the router and not utilizing wireless in my home. I do experience occassional fluctuations in bandwidth (avg. 200k-500k) during high traffic times on the local company network around here, and every once in awhile in Black Ops, my connection would get dropped. But my bandwidth had to be fluctuating a lot for that to happen.
I've talked with other players about this problem on other forums and some people told me that they were utilizing a 300MB fiber connection and the disconnects are still happening to them. So in ways I question my own theory on this one.

I'm convinced that it's just a broken game and there is no solution for this problem on the client side. I've pretty much given up and am tired of wasting a lot of time trying to fix this issue. Hopefully Crytek plans on addressing this soon or I've basically flushed $60 down the toilet. I bought this game exclusively for Multiplayer.

I seriously dont see how this wasn't fixed already i bought this game to play multiplayer and get disconnected every damm game this is the only game also that i have that much issue in multiplayer the only game. I expect a company to deliver a quality product but to me this game is **** garbage if you ask me.

It might be a really great game for those that can actually play i am sure i would enjoy it. But the fact that i cannot play one game and my experience reset every damm game and i am still stuck at level 5 since day 1 i don't get it.

There isnt even a post about this issue from Crytek to at least inform us of a potential fix that they will release soon to fix this issue or give us some actual feedback. I opened a ticket with them and received a reply that it was a known issue for now that i will be sent an email when the issue is fixed its been since the day the game was released and never got any news about it...

If I join a match using Quick Match, I most likely won't be disconnected.

But if I try to choose my own server using Join Match, I have a great chance of being disconnected from the game.

Update: Please read the thread below. I am glad Crytek taking action against this issue. :)

12/4 - We are aware that some users are experiencing connection dropouts mid-game in the multiplayer side of the game. We are aware of this issue and are currently investigating the cause. If you are experiencing this issue, please share any relevant information in this thread.

/merged

Ok, this is a perfect example of why we ask that people search before posting and not to create duplicate threads. I just merged at least 20 threads regarding this same issue and now, together, they create one big thread with almost 100 replies!

Can anyone still experiencing this issue please post a reply in this thread so that we can be sure this is an ongoing issue and hopefully collect some more information regarding the issue.

Thanks!

I get it almost every time.

Got it before 0.2.0 - after patching I could play fine for a day, but after that everything returned back to normal - can't login at all, something like... one time per 3 days I manage to login.

Demo version worked fine, I never seen this error.
Retail version? It's the error I see most often.

Hi!

Are you saying you can't login often because of this error? I was under the assumption that this error occured during games, indicating you are already logged in?

Bleah, sorry, I confused the errors. This one I get during the sessions on these rare occasions when I actually manage to login. They aren't very often and I can re-login with no problem in most occasions, but if... say... I close the game and shut down my PC - after a few hours game won't let me login again, no matter how many attempts I make and how many times will I re-start the game.

This is the error I get during login. Sorry for mess - there's so many red screens I watch that I already got lost in which error appears where :(

I contacted EA support, unlocked ports on my router, checked PC for spyware & viruses using 2 different anti-vir soft, tried running game withouth firewall and antivirus, and... ermm... I don't recall what else, cause I spent really, really long time trying to make this game work.
I'm educated computer technician so... it's as much as one could make, though no result.

I use Win7 x64, ADSL Internet via wired connection to router TP-Link TD-W8910G.
If there's anything else you'd need from me and it'd help solving either of the problems - feel free to PM me.

i have been getting the same issue of losing connection from the servers and i think its the servers problem

because i live in the UK i filter out for Europe sever and look for uk ones some of the servers just drops me out after a few mins of playing and some servers but very few dont drop me out.

i have a strict nat type and dont know how to get it open, (if someone could help me)

im using o2 broadband with their wireless box 4, i tryed the port fowarding the ports as stated in the folder and it doesnt change a thing.

on my firewall which is kaspersky 2011 it has upnp set to open. i have no problems with other games and in crysis i get 14-50 ping in each game.

I have NAT Type moderate and 10ms ping with the server yet I still get disconnected. And if I use Quick Match, it connect me to German server with 300ms ping but I never get disconnected.

That's really weird!
