[PC] "The connection to your opponent has been lost"

Post » Fri Aug 31, 2012 12:46 pm

Hmm, I had this on the Demo too but only in Crysis. Edit: I found it and enabled it, will see if it works now.

I think you have to go into your router settings to enable DMZ. You shouldn't have to though because you can just forward the ports. I think the port is 64100 and if it isn't then that might be where I'm going wrong!

I've realized a lot of people are experiencing a similar bug that I have, whereby you can play multilayer for about 3-5 mins then you get kicked back to the main menu with an error message stating "Connection to your opponent has been lost. You have been signed out".

Most of these people experiencing this have D-link routers, I myself have the DIR-615, which a lot of people seem to be having the same issue with.

Could Crytek please look into the issue for us using D-link routers? The most annoying thing is, when we get kicked with this message, stats or experience don't update either, so multilayer is essentially unplayable.

I have the same issues with that router, but I have Xbox 360 connected too and play Crysis 2 without problems :|

I don't think the problem here is the router but the servers...

I can confirm this. I am behind a DIR-300 and get the same problem. It is definitely NOT a server-problem, it has to do with the router-settings. Unfortunately, the only thing that works for me is setting my computer as DMZ (and thus exposing it to all sorts of threats coming from the interwebs.) This, of course, is not an acceptable workaround. I'm still waiting on advice on how to solve this.

Well it seems to be affecting selected people then with D-links xD
What firmware do you have on yours to get it to work?

Get a real router.

Sorry but srsly. That router is barely supported by its manufacturer who hasn't released an updated firmware since dinosaurs roamed the Earth.

I recently purchased the limited edition Crysis 2 and the singleplayer game blew me away.
However, after I had finished playing the campaign, I turned to multiplayer, with much disappointment.
It seems that after a few minutes ingame, I get signed out for no apparent reason, and the error message "The connection to your opponent has been lost. You have been signed out." appears.
Not only is this not very helpful, it is also extremely annoying, as it resets all my stats and experience gained during the match.
I have searched google multiple times for a solution, and even emailed Crytek multiple times (with no reply, cheers), but have failed to make any headway on fixing this issue.

Additional Info:
-My computer exceeds the game requirements.
-My NAT type is Moderate.
-My PC -> router connection is wireless.

Someone said this could be fixed by plugging their computer directly into their modem, but thats a bit impossible for me since they are on opposite sides of the house.

People calm down, ive been playing multiplayer since release almost without problem....

actually ive had plenty of problems, the Issue of -connection with host has been lost- is a server side issue, its like the server restarts

which means that its not you, find a server by a different provider and try again, it usually takes me 3-4 times to find a server that doesnt do it within 15 mins, but once I do i play on it for 4-5 hours

I realize its frustrating, but i believe you lot might be exaggerating just a tad

That's not the problem...
I use a public wireless connection to play Crysis 2. I can't download very fast, but hell yeah i can play with someone else connection. I don't get disconnected very often. Pluging your PC to your modem won't help.

I can search servers, join games, play just fine, but randomly, within 5 minutes or so of playing, I'll get booted out with the message "The connection to your opponent has been lost. You've been signed out.", and booted back to the Crysis sign in screen. My connection's fine, and no other games do this. I can sign right back in and try again, but the problem just repeats again within a couple of minutes. Anyone else getting this or know why it's happening? It makes playing online pretty much impossible right now.

???

What to do?

Someone can help ?

Thanks

It's a big pain for us server admins as not only you but everyone else on the server is getting booted because the server is crashing. I am running a gametype of 'TIA' only now to see if that stops the crashing as it seems to happen on mixed gametype servers.

Last night I sat on my server and waited until 5 more people joined so we could start a match. When the game started and was in progress the server filled up with players, but then at the start of the next match I had the dreaded countdown of death where it was stuck on 1. Most people left the server but the game eventually started when there was only 4 of us remaining. The server soon filled up again and all was happy again, but then BAM! "You have been disconnected from the host" or whatever it says. Very frustrating indeed!

I'm having the same issue since release on all ranked servers. I'm lucky if it allow me to play more them one minute. I was able to play few matches on unranked servers but they are not tracking stats...

Guys, happened to me as well, but after some digging, I came across very good suggestion. IF you are using router, make sure to turn DMZ off. Disable it.

As Helped me. Now I can play just fine.

DMZ puts your router wide open....when your trying to troubleshoot connection issues why would you want that off?
