No, I'm not referring to restart-itis, although I do suffer from that as well. The problem I'm having lies in the fact that I experience what so many other players do: choppy NPC dialogue which randomly cuts out.
The only solution I've ever found which seems to do any good is temporary, and it involves restarting the PC. Obviously this is an undesirable requirement for every session, so I'm wondering... what exactly *happens* when the computer is restarted that causes Skyrim to start functioning correctly, and is there a way to accomplish this without actually restarting the operating system?
I'm taking a wild guess and assuming that Skyrim takes advantage of anything it's already loaded into RAM from previous sessions, and that flushing this out during a restart is what makes it need to do it all over again?
