TES is a roleplaying game and so often people come here begging for more realism and talking about roleplaying and immersion, but Argonians are lizard-people and their mindset is totally different from human beings. It's so hard to relate to them and hard to get a real roleplaying experience from such a being.

I just assume they're popular because some people don't care about roleplaying or realism and just want to be the most ridiculous and fantastical thing possible.

Some people can't relate much to the average people out there in their real life. Hence the Argonian being picked. LOL I know that's a stretch, but really though some people just enjoy roleplay as something very removed their actual self more.

Maybe there is hope for you yet. However, roleplaying and realism don't necessarily have to contradict fantastical ridiculousness.

For example werewolves and vampires are popular too...Many want to roleplay one. It's because it's so exciting.

It's more exciting and also fun to try to roleplay as something you feel isn't bland and boring (like humans). And...at least my personality fits an Argonian. :hehe:

Both beast races are awesome. I'd pick them both if I could. I vote Argonian though, the first character I make in Skyrim will be Argonian.
