See what where?
A legion member that's been crucified?
Haven't seen that before, saw a couple of NCR soldiers who were crucified in a couple of videos but no legion members.

Nope, it's a common form of execution used long before the Roman Empire and was used long after the Roman Empire. The Midwestern BoS also use crucifiction.

I'm Catholic and I don't know why I would be. It was used as a punishment before, not only for the crucifixion of Jesus. Nothing to see here folks. Move along.

I say we all agree with Styles and forget about it so this topic doesn't follow a certain path.

Correction; we all agree with Volundarkvioa and his almost encyclopedic knowledge of the Roman Kingdom/Republic/Empire.

Not in any way whatsoever. I can see why people may get offended, but Christianity isn't the only group that ever used the cross. Plus Caesar's Legion is based off of the Roman Empire, which if you remember are the ones who crucified Jesus.

The Romans utilized crucifixion as a means of torture and as a means of execution. Generally those getting punished would have their wrists and ankles tethered to the cross by rope (as seen in-game on some people), while crucifixions for execution utilized nails that would be hammered in between the radius and ulna, and through the Achilles tendon.

Having crucifixion in the game actually brings a bit more of the Roman element out for Caesar's Legion.

Though I do think that the media is going to see this a little bit after the game is released and some group is going to be offended, but completely ignore the history behind crucifixion.

An excellent way to make outsiders turn back, or to motivate Ceasars Legion members not to [censored] things up with the Legion. ;)

Ah people shouldn't be offended, Romans have crucified many a people before Jesus.

Sparticus: I am Sparticus!

Other slave:No i am Sparticus!

Other gladiator: No I am Sparticus!

Roman legionaire: (turns to other legionaire) Ah Screw it! Lets crucify 'em all!

So your just offended on the behalf of others that might? Crucifixion was very common, long before Rome and long after it. I would like to see some people impaled, Now that would be fun :chaos: We saw some people impaled in FO2

But it's the media...They constantly pull out stories just to receive views, but that doesn't mean that Obsidian needs to leave out a piece like that because a couple of ignorant people will think "that's sacrilege!" without doing an ounce of research.

On the E3 trailer. Just look for it carefully, it's while the player is inside a CL camp.

i never said i was offended on behalf of anyone now did i? i simply posed a question.
for someone who seems to like using punctuation and proper grammar while trying to sound knowledgeable on an internet forum it would be "you're", not "your"
i just see alot of issues that people could have with that, i know my grandmother would probably have a heart attack,

It's hard to respond on this topic. It's one of the walk the line topics. I don't want to get a warning or band. I don't see how it could be offensive to anyone. Not even Ned Flanders could be. Fallout does not include real world religions. Beth owns Fallout and they sure as hell would not let one of their games make a mockery of someone so important to two of the worlds biggest religions.

Now this is where I could get in trouble. Only way I can see people up in arms calling for the Devs and Beths heads would be something like this.

I put it in spoilers because it might be offensive to some people, which is something I am not trying to do.
Spoiler
You come across a group of Ceaser's Legion. They have a man on a cross, named Jebus. He has a crown of thorns and they are stabbing him. I don't see anything like that happening.

Again, crucifiction was very common before and after Roman times, it's not that big of deal. Some people will always be offended by every little thing but I don't see large groups being pissed off enough to even be worthy of a foot note in the New York Times or one of the little messages that Fox New has go by the bottom of their screen.

Well, for someone who does not use punctuation it would be, "i n3vr sayd i ws ofendeed on behelf o anyon now did i?"

Why even do that? Its a pointless post... and just a stupid cheap shot... lol.

Back on topic. I am not offended at all by this. I do not see why anyone without a severely closed mind would be.

he made a smug comment, now using capitals and proper punctuation and sentence structure on an internet forum is kind of redundant but i am a fan of proper spelling and when you make a contraction while making said smug comment your and you're make a difference,

Maybe it just irks him when people don't spell or use grammar correctly. He might have also just made a mistake, I know I make a lot of mistakes when I get sleepy. Most people aren't perfect machines.
