[A Roleplay]
Anvil, 3rd of Sun's Dawn
Dawn is breaking over the city's skyline; a cold fog hangs about the streets of Anvil. The city grinds to life, merchants open their doors, guards begin the morning rounds, and a number of denizens make their way to morning mass. Lances of sunlight pierce the dreary grey cloud cover; the cries of gulls carry over the city walls. The doors to the Chapel of Dibella are thrown open, and Priest Rawlins greets the practitioners as they enter Church. Rawlins is a friendly man, entering his 60th year and well-liked by the populace of the city.
"Good morning Ms. Caronel, the children doing well?"
"Just fine, sir, just fine. Although I'm sorry to say they could not be woken for your sermon."
The priest grins, the corners of his eyes crinkling,
"Well, we all know how they are at that age. The very demons of Oblivion could not wake them before mid-day."
Ms. Caronel chuckles obligingly and makes her way down the aisle to an open pew.
Rawlins waits until the flow of people abets, then takes his place at the front of the hall. The room is brightly lit, light cascading through the stained glass windows honoring the Nine.
Priest Rawlins turns to deliver his opening words when an arrow shrieks through the open door and strikes him dead. The church is in frenzy; people panic and stampede out the front doors, exploding into the street. The priest is left on the ground, a pool of blood forming around his head; a red-fletched arrow stuck through his left eye.
Messengers are dispatched later that day, carrying this letter to a number of worthy adventurers:
--------------------
You have been chosen to participate in a unique opportunity. You will work with the Church to apprehend a known criminal; you will fight for justice, for gold, or for report. Whatever your motivation, we want you to help us. If you are interested, be at the Skingrad Chapel at nightfall on the 7th. We will be expecting you.

Rules
1. No being all-powerful or all-knowing.
2. No controlling other people's characters.
3. For this role-play, your character has to be pretty distinguished to receive the letter. Whether you're a vicious Arena Gladiator, a powerful member of the Mage's Guild, a tough-as-nails Mercenary, or a renowned Assassin, make sure your character has done something noteworthy. Although, you could roleplay a street urchin who happens to intercept the letter, or someone who follows an adventurer to the Chapel. But for the most part, your characters should be known for something.
4. This is a rated "R" roleplay. You can do pretty much whatever you want, as long as it's not unnecessarily pormographic or gory. Bonus points if you manage to seduce a member of the Church.
5. Write decent-sized posts. This means at least a paragraph, hopefully more.
6. Remember that the key to a good roleplay is character development! And try to give other people a chance to develop their characters as well.
7. Post your character sheet directly to the board, including an introduction, (No need to wait for my approval, I'll PM you if I think your character is inappropriate)

Skingrad, 7th of Sun's Dawn
The city is asleep. The local chapel's doors are closed; a guard stands ready by the front entrance. He keeps his vigil in the soft glow of a lantern, awaiting god-knows-what. Inside, a brown-robed man leans warily on the altar. He holds a worn piece of parchment in his hand. For him, the day is just beginning.
*Note: I will not be on for the rest of the night. I'll probably be back around noon Pacific Standard Time. If you show the guard your letter he'll let you in.
