Interesting read...and also quite hilarious that one of the co-founders would make a mistake like this one:

Avni: But I agree; historically not many triple-A western games have been built with CryEngine. Far Cry and Far Cry 2 were both based on our tech -

Interviewer: I thought Far Cry 2 was built by Ubisoft’s own tech?

Avni:…I don’t think so.

Haha Dunia engine is Ubisofts engine, it's slightly worrying that the co-founder of Crytek doesn't know this.

EDIT: Apparently I'm wrong, the dunia engine is in fact based on Cryteks tech...then skip the hilarious part, just an interesting read.

yes, pretty sure the dunia engine is a souped up version of cryengine1 if the wiki is to be believed. I personally like both games, and think it's interesting to see what can be done with the engine. I'd really like to see like a counter strike mod for crysis wars, could be lots of fun playing with no respawn.

lol it's ok you know how many "propriatory" engines are actually re-workings of the U3 engines? Like Darksiders' engine and Dark Sector's. But the studios will tell you it's their tech because technically it is but it really not
