The Daedras was inspired by what?

What I found most interesting is that with the Shivering Isles expansion pack, we find that a daedra lord (which is considered chaos) can have a duality too. The Aedra supposed to represent order too, I'm not denying that, but what does it mean when one daedra is now order and madness? I may be missing the point, but it did happen (the split of his personality) when the whole of Nirn was being formed into order, so maybe that has more to do with it? In any case considering that the order and chaos can now be in a daedra... it may mean Nirn's number is up.

This is all conjecture, I'm sure, but maybe someone will like to add to it.

Haven?t played SI, but if the Mortal Plane was devised by beings in Oblivion/Aurbis/Nir, it stands to reason that much if not everything of what went into Nirn was already present in Oblivion/Aurbis/Nir in one form or another, as it was in the Chaos of antiquity.

There are lots of different Daedra, If you mean Mehrunes Dagons Daedra then I think they're based on aggresive humans whom have been burnt with lava and... well... I'm not sure about the back of their heads... They're kinda messed up.

You're thinking of what you've seen in the Forbidden Grotto in Mankars Paradise?

Back of their heads? That's, you know, hair.

The lesser Daedra seem to be your typical extraplanar creatures, some elemental, some beast-like, some intelligent, and some demonic. As for the Daedra Lords, they seem to be not unlike the Greek Pantheon, as both constantly meddle in mortal affairs, usually causing trouble, and aren't above causing problems for those that worship them. By contrast, the Nine seem more like the Norse Pantheon; mortal and much less active in day-to-day affairs.

More than evil beings, I meant personifications of our faults.
They remind me of the Greek Pantheon, as most of them are selfish, fickle, and love to meddle in mortal affairs. Except their spheres are typically more negative.
This is very similar to my own view on them, with exception that there are less benevolent and more benevolent [on surface perhaps, but still] Daedric lords... in the end though, they're all beyond our definitions of good or evil, each with own [selfish?] agenda.
