The Dark Brotherhood

I would like to see a new faction loyal to Mephala.
Lies, six, and murder, black widow style.

i just hope they have more missions like the one you dropped the mounted head on a guy to make it look like an accident. not alot of here take this and kill this poor sod. unless it is a public hit for the shock value. a good kill should leave people unsure who did it and why. and a public kill like that would be cool too. have too hit a nobleman in a procession with a poison crossbow bolt to send a direct message. never cross the brotherhood on a contract...

You guys are not forgetting that the game was announced at the VGA's with Todd Howard walking through a hoard of the Dark brotherhood right?

i hope they do a better post-quest quest thing in this one.
i didnt like to talk to sithis as a quest, instead it should be to assassinate randomly generated characters.
that is, if they are in this game

What about the "Brotherhood of Crimson Snow"? Like a 'localised' DB with their own tactics, code of honour and signature?

Considering that the Dark Brotherhood originated in Skyrim I really don't see why that's necessary.

I don't think that they were supposed to be Dark Brotherhood members. In the podcast, Todd just called them monks. I think it was more for atmosphere than anything. And besides, if they were DB that would suggest that the Dark Brotherhood would play a central role in the game, which is possible but doubtful.

If they're in, I'll be severely disappointed if they leave out the "What is the color of night?" / "Sanguine, my brother."

Whatever assassin's faction they use, I just hope the quests are varied and clever and interesting.

I also think it'd be sweet if the location of the assassin's hideout was random and changed every in-game week or so. The main hideout could be located in a cave on the mountainside one week, then in the back of a general store another week, then in the basemant of a seemingly innocent citizen NPC's house another week. That way there would be some challenge in actually tracking them down to join the guild: you'd never know for certain where to find them. I'm not really a fan of the "don't call us, we'll call you" style of initiation found in Oblivion's DB faction.

Morag Tong and DB in Morrowind were real bad-asses.

DB in Oblivion looked like a bunch of SM, emo assassins. To behave like that is to invoke the wrat of Sithis.

I'd like being able to infiltrate and extiniguish or at least deal a heavy blow to the DB. Pretty much as you did in some later quest stages in oblivion, but this time intentionally.
That's the only befitting fate for a bunch of loosely organized lunatics.

I'm sure many of us wanted to continue with the Dark BrotherHood and keep assassinating people, just for Roleplaying purposes, but in the end you'll find out, theres no one left to kill.
I propose a new idea, why not make the game randomly generate NPC's once we want to assassinate someone?
My idea: Since some of you want to continue with the Storyline, you could talk to one NPC for Assassinations and the other to continue with the DBH Storyline.

Rather than the Dark Brotherhood I'd like it when the Morag Tong guild appears again.

"The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim grabs the cover this month and according to Steven, this is deserved. The sequel filled with dragons in Oblivion introduces a low-fantasy setting with really brutal moves and the return of the Dark Brotherhood"

The Morag Tong are the most boring group of killers that could possibly exist. It's legal to assassinate, and their quests were mostly a shopping list of clothes. Forget the freaking Morag Tong.

The Dark Brotherhood are a pack of murderous freemason caricatures living in the basemant of an abandoned house in the middle of a major city and they seem so proud of their style that
it probably ventures the secrecy of their organization greatly... Then again I guess you can't really expect much from a group that recruits you just for mudrering someone randomly.

The quests were fun though :)

Unfortunately, the Morag Tong probably collapsed with the loss of Morrowind.

If any of them survived, they would have to find a new territory. We don't really know if they collapsed or not. Skyrim is just over those mountains to the west. If the DB was already there...

I seriously doubt that the Morag Tong exists any longer, the dunmers have way more important matters to attend to... Like staying alive.

Rowly Eardwulf could revive the Crimson Scars and start a new crusade against the DB.

I'd love another "Whodunit?" quest like the one in Oblivion.

One of the funnest quests in the game. I hope they improve the stealth mechanic to some degree though. Always liked my Argonian assassin.

Yeah I want 'em back and I wish they wear those cool armors from tribunal instead of those lame robes and the [censored] armors they wore in oblivion.

Yup, it's been confirmed by PU, so let the speculation of DB quests begin! =)
