The Dark Brotherhood

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 2:27 pm

Since it has been officially confirmed by Todd Howard that they actually do read these forums, I have a message for the fine folks at Bethesda Softworks.

I swear on the hanging corpse of Lucien Lachance, if The Dark Brotherhood is not in Skyrim, you will all suffer terrible consequences. The specifics of said consequences, however, are unknown at this time.

Never leave out The Dark Brotherhood. To do so is to invoke the Wrath of Sithis.

The Dark Brotherhood is empire wide and doesn't need the empire to operate. They definitely will be in the next game.

I can only hope that this time they're more of a group of assassins than a comedy troupe.

The Dark Brotherhood were my favourite faction in Oblivion. I'd love to see them return in Skyrim.

Down with the Morag Tong!

The Dark Brotherhood can die in a fire, and The Morag Tong would be happy to supply the matches.

I want the Dark Brotherhood and the Morag Tong.

They could fight.

Also Whodunnit? was the best quest in Oblivion.

The Morag Tong are the most boring group of killers that could possibly exist. It's legal to assassinate, and their quests were mostly a shopping list of clothes. Forget the freaking Morag Tong.

What about the "Brotherhood of Crimson Snow"? Like a 'localised' DB with their own tactics, code of honour and signature?

idk if they will be in or not. they may try something new. I kind of expect them to add alot of new stuff into this one, they kind of have a new start after the Collapse.

The collapse might not affect illegal organizations like the Dark Brotherhood as much, but for official organizations, I think that empire wide power structures don't collapse overnight. Many guilds would continue on because they've been operating that way their whole lives and were semi-autonomous before the collapse. Some might have reformed for the better or the worse. I could see the fighter's guild slipping into dirty business pretty quickly.

why not both the DB and a local group the player would have to choose which side to support in a war over contracts in the region

they seemed like a bunch of retatds. SITHIS SAVE ME. everything seemed a bit ridiculous. WE ARE AN OBSCURE GROUP OF ASSASSINS THAT EVERYONE KNOWS ABOUT, WOULD YOU LIKE ME TO TELL YOU ARE ORGANISATIONS SECRETS?

perhaps there could be some ACTUAL assasin type missions, like locating a target, move towards the target and then strike. this could be spiced up by dramatic chases, multiple choices to kill, differing amounts of guards and different locations. the hunted could be a generic guy in the streets, a guard in the barracks, a man hiding in the mountains, a polotician in his hall and so on

i realy did like the " whodunit quest", although the acting was bad and i killed them all within 30 seconds

Probably one of my favorite quests, just do to the creativeness of it, i got total (insert word i can't think of here) when i actually read the book 'And Then There Were None', cause i didn't know it existed when i played the quest.

But, yes, the Dark Brotherhood better return, i loved how creative you could be in killing/tricking your victims on those quests. Especially the many ways you could execute how you went about doing so.

I do have to admit that the Morag Tong was real evil gangsters that made the Dark Brotherhood look like lil puppies.

They weren't gangsters, they were legal. They killed someone, and presented papers saying they were allowed. They were the lapdog of the Man.

The Mages' Guild also kind of... politically imploded.

I agree about Traven, but I think the head of each town mages guild would have their own opinion and react differently to the changes presented by the empire collapsing.

I've no doubt about it. The general thought on Hannibal's actions seemed split pretty evenly, and that's just in Cyrodiil, but from what I've read on these forums, apparently the Mages' Guild did split into the Synod and the College of Whispers. I could be wrong, as I haven't actually read the book, yet, but that's what I've seen here.

Edit: Please correct me if I'm wrong, and that's directed towards anyone who may know.
