The Date

Skyrim v Minecraft.
Both games are now officially being release 11.11.11, but which one will flourish under the powerful new date? :D
Will Skyrim be forgotten and left in the shadows while everyone jumps up in joy for the game that has become a phenomenon and taken the world by storm, originally started by its sole creater, Notch? :o
Or will the fifth epoch in the Elder Scrolls story shine above that mess of blocks, with everyone choosing the massive, open RPG that is the latest chapter in the series we have known and loved for over a decade?
Which one will be noticed? Which one will shine? Which one will be talked about?
Perhaps Todd and Markus will have a fistfight?

11.11.11 - Skyrim or Minecraft? :P

Yeah, Minecraft's only for the pc, whereas TES is for consoles and PC. It won't really be a competition. Added Skyrim will appeal to a larger amount of people, and it's not really an issue.

I'll probably buy both, I still want to get a Beta code or whatever for Minecraft seeing how it is cheaper now than it will be on Release. I just haven't had the funds. But Skyrim is already preordered and paid for.

MC is fun I play it once a day it seems so i voted MC but at the same time TES is also very fun there 2 totally different types of games so putting them together is kinda weird. 2 major differences between Skyrim and MC is one has a story and MC is a indie dev not a AAA title dev. Now for notch to fix or get something better then Java...

Minecraft is a far different game. It's a completely new experience every time you play. I play other games when I want structure. Though, on 11/11/11, Skyrim shall be king.

Way to jump on the bandwagon Minecraft. TES on 11.11 and Uncharted 3 on 11.1. Guess Minecraft couldn't be original.

Yeah, you'd think they'd choose a date where the game wouldnt be overshadowed by the release of a huge game like Skyrim.
Although, I'm sure there's a huge possibility that it could overshadow Skyrim itself in some forms, as I think most gamers who aren't in the know would choose this funny, cheap, popular game over another 'seemingly generic' RPG release. For example, most of my friends will be like "What the hell is Skyrim?" and "Did you know Minecraft is officially released!?", but anyone who knows Bethesda or TES should definitely be excited for Skyrim.
Still this is all for fun.

Minecraft is fun but after your first big burst, which can be 3-6 hours of play you get bored. Then you hardly play it like only once in awhile 3 hours a month. Skyrim will is what 11.11.11 is all about. I wonder if they will count us alpha guys who bought the game a year ago in final release sales.
Edit: Most of the people I speak to about minecraft have no idea what it is,that counts friends on PSN and XBL as well as passerby who overhear talk about it.

Opposite for me. People are going to swarm the midnight for Skyrim by me and probably not even give Minecraft a second thought.

Skyrim 1000%. Minecraft is neat and all, but it's no comparison to how grand Skyrim will be.

If you have not played it,it can be summed up as a Lego set without a design to follow where things try to kill you. You really need an imagination after the survival aspect wears off.

I haven't played it, but that doesn't sound too fun.

Apparently the only thing that looks awful is the graphic.

I feel like I'm one of the few people who doesn't really care about Minecraft (out of those who know about it and have played it :P )

It's cool and all, if you want to build things then go for it, but I don't really have anything to build. I mean yeah, I could spend hours and hours and hours building a giant mansion for myself, but then what? And why? I just don't have the patience for that, and I lack the creativity to have enough new ideas to keep building things. It's cool to see someone else's final product, but I could never get to that point myself. It was fun exploring until I saw just about everything there was to see in an hour or so.
