The Dead Horde: Part 2

" I'll bring my men Fey and Hirrus to the kitchen, and a few of the gaurds. We should take some with us, but not too many. We must leave some to defend Cheydinhal. "

____
Hirrus was just notching another arrow when he saw a group of corpus burst into flames.
Haha, look at them burn!

Hirrus laughed and nudged a nearby gaurd.
" We should get some of those! "

A young argonian ran down the street and into the house, Hirrus quickly dispatched a few of the Corpus that had followed her and begun to bang on the door.

Dynter walked over to the Amiel fanier, and friends. "So what up?" He asked "I'll meet you in the kitchen. Come on, lets go." He walked off.

Primo turned and went outside, pointing to a few gaurds and calling for Hirrus and Fey to come.

Men assembled, he turned and headed back inside, towards the kitchen to plan for tomorrow.

Hopefully the Imperial City still stood.. He didn't know what he would do if it had fallen to these filth.

Kiel converted his shirt to cloth to wrap his wounded leg in. He then made his way to the kitchen hearing of all the commotion, he found a seat in the corner, being unfamiliar with everyone, he decided to just sit and wait for everyone else to start

Dynter stood on the Table and said "Here here everyone!" He picked up a recipe book. "We come here today to see the wedding of Amiel and Fanier. May the bride and the groom please come forth. Amiel, do you take Fanier to be your lawfully wedded wife?. Do you, Fanier, take Amiel to be your lawfully wedding husband? Ok, then. I now pronounce, HUSBAND AND WIFE! The bride may kiss the groom!" Dynter shot a glare at Primo. "your supposed to be singing "Here comes the bride"!" He Exclaimed. He laughed and stood down from the table. "Sorry abiut that. I just wanted to add a bit of humour to cheer up your spirits. Continue with the discussion."

OOC:
A young argonian ran down the street and into the house, Hirrus quickly dispatched the few Corpus that had followed her and begun to bang on the door.

You do realize that she was being chased by a horde of Corprus, not a few?

Radek watched the Corprus swarm into Cheydinhal like flies over a fresh kill. There were dozens of them! Oh god, what the hell am I going to do?! his thought was interrupted by a loud slam, he turned around to see the Attic door, and a load moaning sound that accompanied it. ''Mom?'' Said a voice, over the loud moans of the Zombie-like creatures outside. Something, that sounded like wood, cracked loudly. Radek then heard a scream and saw someone run into the Attic, and slammed the trap-door shut, then ran and sat on the bed. After a few seconds the figure noticed Radek and screamed again. "Who.. who are you? You're.. you're not gonna hurt me are you? Please, I don't wanna die! I.. no.. don't hurt me.." it cried. The voice sounded that of a Females. Radek didn't know how to respond, so he just said the first thing that came to his head. He ran and knelt down beside the bed, ''Ssssshhhh! I'm not going to hurt you, but they will if they hear us!'' he whispered quietly, in his best of a gentle voice, and gestured towards the Attic door.

In the light of the candles in the room, Radek got a good look at his new guest. She was Argonian, but of a different kind then Radek himself, she may have been Female, but she looked like she had the build of a Male. Probably Morrowind variant. He moved over to the Attic door quickly and quietly, and placed his ear against the wood. He heard them. Their loud, blood-thirst moans and howls, they sounded as if they were all over the house, ripping things apart, destroying anything in there path. But, they didn't know where Radek and the Female were hiding. He slowly moved back to the bed. ''They dont know were up here...'' He whispered. Once he was positive of it, he sat down on the bed beside the other Argonian, ''Now, why dont you tell me what your name is? I highly doubt you would like being called 'Girl'''

Primo stepped forward.

" My plan, is to get together as many capable fighters as Cheydinhal can spare, and head for the Imperial City. We can search settlements along the way for survivors, as they are more likely to be less affected by the Corpus disease. If we can get to the Imperial City, we can possibly save other cities, maybe all of Cyrodil. The plan, is to leave tomorrow morning. I will leave the rest, to the Fighters Guild for now. "

Primo went and sat against the wall, waiting patiently for Amiel to speak.

IC: Amiel was not very appreciative of the joke he received from Dyntar as he arrived in the Kitchen. "I think, that was a bit too silly." Amiel searched the kitchen, and found the knife collection. Taking one of the knives, he drew a crude map of cyrodiil into the table. He then took the butcher knife, and smashed it into the area of the map where the Imperial city would be. He then took a small steak knife, and stabbed into cheydinhal's position.

"Currently, we have one wagon filled with camping supplies. Before 9 hundred hours we need a supply of food and we need either the Count to come with us, or some sort of document signed by the count. This will be required to prove our claims should the Imperial city be unaware of the current situation."

Amiel then drew a line, starting from cheydinhal, that snaked down where the blue road would be, and then went north along the red ring road, hugging the northern half of the road and leading towards the Imperial city. He then plunged two knifes into the map. One where Aleswell was, the other where the Roxey inn was.

"On the northern half of the red ring road there is a inn and the town of Aleswell. Taking the northern road, we would have to find shelter in one of these places before sundown in order to be safe. It is a region of steep slopes, and we will have little room to flee."

Amiel drew a second line that went down the blue road, and into lake rumare, leading towards The Imperial docks.

"Our second option would be attempt to use makeshift rafts to cross lake rumare and reach the docks."

Amiel then drew a third line that went down the blue road and then through the southern half of the red ring road. he stabbed a knife into the area where pell's gate would be.

"This is the final path that we can take. Our objective would be to cross the bridge before sundown, otherwise we would have no hope of reaching pell's gate and would be caught outside. This area is a smoother compared to the northern path, and from Pell's gate we could attempt the raft option without having to cross as much water."

OOC: you could be waterwalked acrtoss the sea if you hadn't killed a certain someone... Good night. See you in the morning.

"Very good" Said Dynter "I'm more in favour of the Raft option. Iy might be risky but each second is worth a thousand lives now."

iC: "The problem with the raft is its resource intensive nature. If we go to Pell's gate, then build rafts, we'll simply dissasemble the houses. If we launched from the blue road red ring intersection however, we're going to have a harder time building enough rafts. Especially with the low amount of horses. Waylas was lucky to secure even one horse to pull a supply wagon, and finding two or three more will be even harder." Amiel figured that a land route would be the easiest, but both routes were cutting it close. If they didn't leave early enough they'd have to stay another day in Cheydinhal.

OOC: I'm going to bed. I will have one hour to continue this conversation at around 10-to 11:40 A.M. I will try to get some rping done between 5:30 and 7:30 A.M, and I can rp tommorow night. This was all EST by the way.

Trisha listened partially to the words of her fellow Argonian, relaxing a tiny bit as he told he wasn't going to hurt her, but despite her efforts to pay attention, all she could look at were his eyes. One of them was a disturbing sort of red color and it scared the living hell out of her. That combined with the fact that his clothing and armor were oddly ripped and the places on his body it failed to covered were saturated with scarring. Whoever this was, he had seen a lot of combat. Not only that, but he'd survived a lot. Trisha had, until two minutes ago, only ever killed rats. And even those were few and far apart.

As such, the little woman's eyes never left Radek, even as he knelt and set the side of his head to the hatchway. He whispered something that she didn't catch and Trish found her hand edging towards the knife on the bed beside her. Just before she could get the courage up to grab the blade (though she wasn't sure what she'd have done after she'd grabbed it anyway) he sat next to her on the bed and, with a squeak of fright, Trisha's small, gauntleted hands went into her lap and clasped together, her back now against the wall, tail out between her legs and her legs pulled up to her chest. Please, Gods, if you exist.. Don't let him kill me. "Now, why don't you tell me what your name is? I highly doubt you would like being called 'Girl'" Her new acquaintance asked of her. She struggled to find her voice.

"My.. My name? It's.. Trisha." She stuttered in fright, then added, "You.. you're.. sure you're really not gonna do something horrible to me?"

IC:

Cheydinhal Castle Throne Room

A small spark of magicka began to fizz not far in front of the throne, it pulsated slowly and emanated a dim purple light. Gradually it grew and swirled forming thick bands of mystical smoke that spun out until they became a human sized cocoon of vibrant flickers and haze. Suddenly a large purple flash occurred as the smoke blew out leaving a small statured coughing figure stood there wafting the smoke away.

"Euhh..." he moaned loudly as he reached down to a flask of Matze at his belt before taking a large swig. "... I'll never get used to that." he announced to himself, thinking about how dry his throat becomes after teleporting. As he replaced the flask he also snapped shut the book he held and fastened it into a strap on his belt. As the smoke settled and he shook of the strange sensation, he stood upright and cracked his neck before looking up and gazing at his surroundings.

Kiel simply shook his head during the Barbarians wedding bit. Of all the times to try to get attention by not being funny, he picks now. Kiel listened closly to the man named Amiel's plan. He didn't think the rafts sounded good one bit. "And what if theres not enough material left to build rafts for everyone?" Kiel inquired. "I say, if we keep good pace, we'll make it to the Imperial City by land and bridge with time to spare." Kiel then leaned back in his chair and waited for response.

"My.. My name? It's.. Trisha." The Argonian lass said. Radek nodded and was going to introduce himself, before she added, "You.. you're.. sure you're really not gonna do something horrible to me?" Radek nodded, ''Yeah, I'm sorry, I probably look frightening with all these scars and cuts, and torn up clothes'' He shrugged then stood up. ''I'm Radek, by the way''

He walked back over to the trap door, and rested the side of his head against it again. He shuddered when he heard a loud moan coming from the other side, then followed by a few raspy gasps and grunts. Radek pulled his head away and sat against the wall, his long slender legs bent upward, with his knees against his chest. ''I reckon we'll be safe here, till morning'' He said then looked at Trisha. The Argonian lass was wearing Leather Armor, which sprung something in Radeks mind. Mom bought me a new notebook and dad had a set of light leather armor fitted to me so I don't have to worry so much when I go out to hunt for alchemical ingredients, He had read in the mysterious diary he found, which was still sitting on the window sill, by the strange guard-dog-plant.

Is she....? Radek pondered, then began feeling uneasy. If this girl was the author was that Dairy, she would be a little ticked if she found out some stranger had been reading it. He decided to worry about it later, ''Do....Do you live here?'' He asked, hoping to start small talk with her. He had never talked to anyone in several years, he had always wanted to talk to someone besides himself. He finally got his wish, but it wasn't going the way he thought. Then again, nothing really went the way Radek thought.

OOC: I probably won't be able to post through the night. I've got a project to do.

IC: Fanier ignored the nord's stale joke, and listened intently at Amiel's plans. He liked the one that had to do with Pell's Gate.

"I think we should go through Pell's Gate," he spoke. "So if for whatever reason, we can't cross the water, we can always finish the journey on land." He thought for a bit before adding, "And we might find more survivors."

At her question, the other Argonian nodded. ''Yeah, I'm sorry, I probably look frightening with all these scars and cuts and torn up clothes.'' He shrugged then stood up. ''I'm Radek, by the way.''

"Nice to.. meet you." Trisha managed to eke out, still tucked up against the wall. As she sat there in uneasy silence for few seconds, she looked over to see the plant on sill was not alone. Her diary lay beside it. I.. didn't leave that there, did I? She wondered, then her eyes widened in terror, No, no I didn't.. He was reading it! Oh, gods.. I wonder how much he read? Oh, no.. There were a lot of private and embarrassing things recorded in that book, and the thought that the man in front of her could know all of them made her feel faint.

She'd been working up the courage to move and finally had it.. barely. Scooting over to the far edge of the bed by the dresser, Trish set her feet on the floor and made her way over to the windowsill. Reaching over to the plant, she stroked it's 'head' gently, the odd flora making a little gurgling noise and cuddling up to her fingers as it was petted. Grabbing the diary, Trish heard a question behind her: "Do.. Do you live here?"

For a moment, she considered lying, so that maybe whatever he'd seen in that diary wouldn't be held against her. After a second, though, she sighed resignedly. "Yes.. I do." The words came out with obvious reluctance, her voice now calmer as she stared out into the nighttime cityscape, lying in ruin. She felt better with cool air on her face and tried to make herself not think about what was going on down there in the shadows. Setting her palms on the edge of the sill so her fingers rested up on the sill itself, Trish looked at the plant and sighed again. "You.. read it.. didn't you?"

IC: Amiel turned to the redguard who chimed in about the rafts and said "Now that is a very good point, sir. I must say I agree with you, but considering our dire circumstances we need to consider all possible options." Pausing for a moment, Amiel realised something of some importance.

"Also, after we finish the plans I want everyone to list their name."

Amiel then turned to Fanier, and considering his statements, said "Well, both Pell's gate and Alsewell have similar population sizes, but our cheif concern needs to be tactical. Our we better served by going through a steep, but settled area, or a relatively smooth, but settled area? We must also ask ourselves whether or not the fact that there's the niben seperating pell's gate from Cheydinhal gives us any advantage. My guess is that corpus beasts can't swim very well, and aren't smart enough to travel down the bridge in mass as long as they don't see anyone on it."

"Yes.. I do." Came the reply from Radek's last question. He sat against the wall, staring at the trapdoor, until he heard Trisha stand up and head to the window, where Radek left the Dairy. A surge of panic struck into him, and he sighed nervously. Trisha stood, and stared out the Window, then stared down at the plant. "You.. read it.. didn't you?" The question caused Radek to sweat. ''I....'' He started, but was unable to finish when a familiar feeling coursed through him.

He began scratching his neck nervously. ''I...didn't mean to'' He managed to spit out, he winced his eyes, seeing that he had no choice, but to explain himself. ''I'm uhhh...a scavenger....'' He said, stuttering over a few words as he spoke. ''I needed a place to stay for the night, and well...'' He hesitated, feeling the nervousness course through his body. ''I-I thought this house was ..... abandoned, and I wanted to.....search for anything.....useful...'' He lowered his head, and covered his eyes with his hands. Being alone, and dealing with trauma alone, made Radek's mind incredibly fragile, nervousness or panic could easily send it off the fritz. He began to shake.

Your starting to loose it, this is going to be fun! The voice teased him, Radek cocked his head left, ''Quiet!'' he whispered, then began to rub his forehead, trying to ease the tension on his mind. I cant loose it He thought, Not again....not now...

" If we leave as soon as the sun rises, we can get to Imperial City through the Aleswell route in time. We will need to be ready before the sun rises, and leave the castle the second it rises. "

I don't particularily like the idea of going by raft, and maybe there will be Imperial Gaurds in front of the City.

" It is the surest, simplest, safest way. As long as we leave at the right time, it is gaurunteed to work. "

It must work...

IC: "So you think it will get us to the Imperial city if we leave at daybreak? And the southern route won't be able to do this?"

Amiel was now in favor of hte southern route, as it afforded a better chance of taking shelter should they overestimate the amount of time they had. But if hte northern route would take less time, that would make it a better route in theory.

OOC: to clarify, Amiel proposed three routes, A raft route that could be launched at pell's gate or the blue road red ring road intersection, travelling along the southern half of the red ring road with a pit stop at Pell's gate, and the Alsewell route. Also, Amiel is talking about the southern LAND ROUTE.

" I am much more in favor of the Aleswell route. If we find shelter two hours before nightfall, that is when we stop. I will not fail any of you. We WILL get to the Imperial City safely. "

I definitely am not going on a raft. It is very likely they may sink and that some of us may not make it across.

"I too" The nord elf boomed. "Am in favour of the rafts. If we take trhe land route, night could fall before we arrive at the city, and that is taking a great risk. If we take the rafts, thier is rish. But not as much a risk as if we walked. We will be safer within the walls of the city rather then a small camp or farm. All in favour of the rafts, say "Aye"" Dynter didn't like this Primo. He seemed to be acting like the leader of the group, when there was no leader. "And Primo," He muttered. "We're all capable of looknig after ourselves without legion intervention."

IC: "Well Dynter, I must say I'm in favor of the southern land route." Amiel, for future refrence, pointed to cheydinhal, and then followed the track in the table that led across a rather large bridge, to pell's gate, and finally to the Imperial city, and the entire path was on solid ground.

"I'm going to throw my vote in for the southern land route, with a potential stop at Pell's gate." Amiel looked to the rest of the people assembled in the kitchen. What did they think? Would any plan work?

" My job is to protect the Empire. You are citizens of the Empire. Without citizens the Empire cannot thrive. A farm is safer than a rickety old raft. Keep in mind, we don't have the horses to be able to construct the rafts here. We cannot use horses to pull large logs to make a big sturdy raft, and, we will not have much time to construct said rafts. I believe the raft idea, is a gamble. When you gamble, you can either win it all, or lose it all. If we go by land, we simply need to get into shelter in time. We have Imperial Soldiers, Fighter Guild Members, and.. i guess we have you. If it comes down to it we can take a dozen or so Corpus. You can fight Corpus, but you won't be able to fight when the raft falls apart and everyone is plunged into the water. Unless we have some Water Walking spells or Water Breathing, it is best to go by land. There isn't much risk if we stop at Aleswell or the Inn. Last time i was there, there were buildings made of stone with no windows. Just as good as any Castle Keep. No more dangerous then where we sit now. All in favor of not drowning, come with me. "

Primo stood up and walked through the door into the main hall.
Hirrus and Fey went after him.

If it means abandoning these people and going by myself, i will go by land. Let the fools die, but someone has to make it out alive.
