The Dead Horde: Part 2

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 3:14 pm

IC: Amiel followed Primo out the door of the kitchen, and manuevered himself in front of Primo and his subordinates.

"Primo, Now I may support a land route, but I would like to know why you don't think the southern land route is viable. Tell me this, and I'll be happy to take the northern route."

Amiel was not in the mood for this storming out by the legion members, as it seems rather silly to him.

( OOC: That was posted in response to Dyntar. )

" I apoligise, i was responding to the Nord, i didn't hear what you said. I apoligise also for the outburst, but i can't stand those barbarian types. "

Primo calmed and thought of returning to the kitchen.

" Shall we head back in? "

IC: "Well its understandable I guess. And yes, lets head back in." Amiel led Primo's group back to the kitchen, and returning to his original position, said "so Which will it be, North or south?" Amiel looked around at the map and those that were in the room. This decision could either be insignificant or incredibly important to the group's survival.

"So, imperial legion." Dynter said angrily. "You have a problem with my profession. Well the empire has never done anything good for the nations it rules. It might cater to Cyrodil but in my Native lands of Summerset isles, we are oppresed by you legion dogs. We pay you taxes, and when the time comes to help you ignore the people. You think you are civilized, yet you are like barbarians. You conquer country after country ruthlessly. You cannot satisfie your blood lust. Well, i cannot stand your stench any longer. I challenge you to an honourable duel imperial."

" I have no quarrel with you. I did not conquer your lands, the fools i work for did. I side not with the opressive rule of the Empire. I work to keep it, because without the Empire, Tamriel would fall into chaos. I apoligise if you feel that i have wronged you Nord. But i haven't. I never made any mention of your profession, so i don't get what you are angry about with that. "

"Most provinces still have remnants of thier old governments. The governments would take over in the event of the empire falling. The empire has no use but to line of the pockets of the men in the imperial palace. This land would be a much better place without the monarchy, i dream of a day, when liberty, peace and equality are achieved. But those values shall never be achieved as long as the empire continues to forcefullly mantain control of captured lands. I hope someday, that i will be there when the imperials are ousted from skyrim. When they are ousted from Morrowind. And most of all , when they are ousted from my native land. I warn you imperial, that day is coming. Soon, the Monarchy will end, and Liberty will begin! *Cough* I didn't mean to rant. But I'm passionate about having each country run by its own government, rather then the throne. Anywho, i accept your apology. I take back my challenge. A word of advise, imperial, be careful who you command. Not all of us are imperial lackeys."

"Summerset isles unfree, shall never be at peace."

OOC: Sorry about the rant, its just that i hope that someday Tamriel will be free.

Kiel, a nine fearing, empire loving man stands up at the Nords rant. "Now I didn't want to bring politics into this but Dynter, you are a moron! First of all, they aren't all countries, they are provinces. Second, do you know what hell the great land of Tamriel would fall into if you each Province became an independent country. It would by worse than it is now! The Empire does not steal freedoms from the provinces, they help them. United we stand and divided fall." Kiel takes a deep sigh, realizing he was yelling. "To remain on topic of this disussion; I cast my vote for land route."

"Tamriel is not united. Tamriel is held agianst its will by the imperial monster. Tamriel should not be united. Tamriel is a continent, not a country. It would be wrong to denie each country its cultural identity. What i believe in is each nation independant. Each nation's people have the right to make thier own decisions concerning there nation. It is an abombination to take that freedom from the people. The empire has taken it. We should have a government, that WE elect. A government, where we call the shots. A government, of the people, by the people, for the people. A monarchy cannot satisfy the needs of independance."

Dynter turned to the man in the corner and shouted "BEFORE the empire came, each province was a country! Why are they no longer countries? Answer me that? Why is it, that the imperial government are "Helpnig" us agianst OUR WILL! I DISSAGREE!! EACH "PROVINCE" HAD ITS OWN CULTURE! EACH IS A NATION! A NATION OPRESSED! A NATION THAT MOST BE FREED! AND THAT FREEDOM CAN ONLY BR ACHIEVED THOURGH OPEN REBELION AGIANST THE EMPIRE!!!!!

" Then abolish the Monarchy. Make the Emporor an elected power. Give each Province its own eected government. But let Tamriel fly a single banner. As for the man who just lept up, there is no need for name calling. He is partially correct. Each province needs a bit more autonomy and power in their own rights/ "

The way forward, is that each nation has its own parliment, and that that parlemint pays lip service to the empire and pledges its troops in the empires wars. The empire should not be allowed adminstarte forign countries. The emperor should be removed and should be replaced with an elected seat, we agree on something. The elder council should be voted by the people and the council and the people will vote in the president.

However, this cannot happen. The empire will never give us a bit of freedom. The way of liberation, independeance, and the empowerment of the people is through REVOLUTTION!

"ENOUGH! This is NOT the time for political discussion. We have one vote for land, but with no metnion of direction. I cast my vote for the south, taking the southern route votes to two. What do you think Fanier?" Amiel turned his attention to Fanier, uninterested in the political discussion. Such topics had caused him to ignore his academic studies as a child, and focus more on his weapons training. Amiel, having no interest in politics, was defintely not interested in hearing advocation for a democratic nation during a time of crisis.

Radek seemed to become instantly nervous when Trisha asked about the diary. She was miffed, yes, but mostly she was afraid of being teased or looked down upon. He began sputtering excuses and although Trisha was upset about her personal diary being thumbed through, she didn't want him to break down like he did. She backed up a little, the plant in its pot looking over at him, then curling up and emitting a whining noise. Is he.. gonna be okay?

The young maiden listened to the sputterings of her current roommate, but when he started muttering 'Quiet!' she became worried about him. She mustered her courage and cautiously stepped forward. A few times, she almost just gave up and ran back to the corner, but.. she convinced herself she needed to comfort him. Setting one gauntlet on his shoulder warily, she whispered to him. "R-Radek? Are you okay? I'm.. I'm not angry. Just calm down.. please.. You're starting to scare me.."

Radek shuddered, and took a few deep breaths. It was until then a hand was placed on his shoulder, he jumped and bolted his head upwards to see Trish, with a look of concern on her face. "R-Radek? Are you okay? I'm.. I'm not angry. Just calm down.. please.. You're starting to scare me.." She whispered. Radek stared at her with wild eyes, ''Am I okay?'' he repeated. He tilted his head slightly, ''I haven't been okay.....for a very long time'' He nodded his head next to him, signaling for her to sit down. ''I was never like this ya know...'' He began, ''I actually once had a life, not a very good one, but a life none the less'' He shivered, the room seemed to be getting colder. Why am I telling this women my life story? I dont even know her? He ignored his thoughts. ''I used to live in Morrowind, not a nice place, most Dunmer there treated me like an animal...'' He sighed deeply then proceeded to tell her about his parents, and their strange unknown deaths, attempting to hold back the pain in the process.

''Several weeks after their deaths, we started getting reports, people began to disappear, and never came back'' It brought him a lot of pain to tell her this, but he felt that she needed to know. And that it was calming down his panic-attack, sort of. ''Investigations were launched, no evidence was found about them, only more reports'' He stopped to sniff, ''Dead animals and live stock were being reported throughout Morrowind, officials kept saying it was nothing....until'' Radek's eyes shot wide in fear and took a deep sniffling breath, ''They came!'', he said aloud in a raspy, frightened voice, ''They came out of no where, devouring, slaughtering, they killed my friends, my home'' He looked down and rolled up his shirt and chainmail, exposing his chest, with a large gash-scar dragged across it diagonally, ''I-I barely escaped with my life'' he covered his chest back up, wincing his eyes as his mind played back the memory.

''I could hear the screams'' He said, ''The horrid screams!'' he could not contain himself any longer. Tears began flowing from his eyes, and down his cheeks. But he went on, ''I ran, away from the screams, away from Morrowind, I wanted to get away!'' He smiled crazily, then stared into Trisha's eyes, ''You know what its like, to lose everything you hold dear, in the blink of an eye?'' He sobbed, ''I lost my home, my friends, everyone that cared about me, and...'' He paused, ''I lost half of my mind!'' He sighed deeply, ''My mind, it....used to both be the same...but....'' He stopped, the pain was too much, he turned away and hid his head in his arms, resting then against his knees. Then, He began to cry.

Trish heard his reply to her question and grew concerned. She sat when motioned to and listened patiently, though his voice said that it hurt to say what he did. She wasn't really sure why this strange new Argonian was spilling his guts to her of all people, but.. Maybe he's like me; he doesn't have anyone else.. At that, the face-value truth of what she'd thought hit her and she gritted her teeth in an attempt not to cry. There was no more avoiding it. If they were alive, they would have found her by now. Trisha swallowed hard and lowered her snout, only looking up a moment when he lifted his clothing to show her a gruesome scar across his body. She ran a small finger over the corresponding place on her body and shuddered, trying not to imagine the pain he'd gone through or how much blood had come out of it. At the thought of such an injury, Trish felt bile rise in her throat and swallowed again to keep from vomiting.

"I could hear the screams! The horrid screams!" Radek looked up and met her eyes and, at this point, saw his held tears as well. "You know what its like, to lose everything you hold dear, in the blink of an eye?" Trisha swallowed again. "I lost my home, my friends, everyone that cared about me, and.." Radek cut off for a moment. Trisha sniffed pitifully and nodded. "At least you had friends.." It just slipped out. She couldn't help it. She hoped he wouldn't think she was being mean. Trisha listened to the last bit in silence and realized what he was saying. He's.. crazy? I hope.. I hope I don't go crazy..

After he finished, he buried his snout in his arms and cried, without restraint. Seeing him cry, she wanted to be strong, to help him. But.. seeing him weep made her think of the fact she was now entirely an orphan and it broke her heart. "I.. I know what it's like to lose it all.. I was born with nothing, and.." Trisha sniffed to clear her airway, "..the people I've always called my parents bought me from slavery.. I owe them everything and.. now.. they're gone." Trish lowered her face into her hands and joined Radek in sobbing. "I never even got to say goodbye.." She added into the leather of her gauntlets, her words almost indecipherable from the muffling. She cried hard for a minute or so, then opened her eyes again and saw Radek on the floor still, her vision only allowing her really to see the incongruent blob where he sat, and realized he'd probably meant literally that it'd been taken in front of his eyes. At least.. At least I didn't have to watch them die.

Slipping off the bed, Trisha realized Radek was, while more hardened on the outside, like her. He was a person without a place in the world. Gently, though she still cried herself, Trisha set her clawed hand on his arm for a second, then pulled him into a hug. She didn't say anything as her tongue refused to work, but she didn't know what she'd say if she could speak. She just hoped the gesture alone would bring him comfort.

The Pain, fear, and misery flooded through Radek's mind like a broken dam, he barely heard Trisha over his loud sobs. "I.. I know what it's like to lose it all.. I was born with nothing, and.." She paused and sniffed, "..the people I've always called my parents bought me from slavery.. I owe them everything and.. now.. they're gone." She lowered her face into her hands and joined Radek in sobbing. The two cried together for a straight minute, Radek calmed down a bit, but still lightly sobbed into his arms.

He had not noticed Trish, until her hand touched his arm, and she pulled him into a hug. The sudden movement made Radek let out a surprised gasp, this had been the first time in his life, when someone actually hugged him. It made him feel childish, but in another way.....it made him feel warm. As if his life was no longer pointless. Someone was going through the same thing he was going through, dealing with loneliness for a long time. He faintly smiled to himself. He had a friend.

He then took a deep breath, the sobbing seemed to have drained a lot of energy from him. He wanted to say something, but his jaw betrayed him, and remained shut. The only thing he could do was rest his head against Trish's shoulder. Exhaustion creeped in, and before Radek knew it, he was half asleep.

OOC: Im gone for a few days...tisk tisk

IC:Xerxes watched the woman begin crossing the town and decided to follwo her, He didnt trust the nord. As they crossed the sun past the horizon and it began to darken. The little Argonian broke into a sprint and Xerxes was unsure how to react. As she made it farther from him he began to run after her,as he closed in. She was accosted by one of the creatures. He growled and drew his glaive but as he was coming in three creatures came at her from behind. Xerxes swung his glaive deep into the back of the first creature. Putrid green pus sprayed back at him, He with drew it and did the next simplest move, he sliced the bottom blade into the side of the second one nearly tearing what little remained of it's leg off. A dozen or so more creatures came from the dark and as he looked up he saw her entering a house. Xerxes made his way to there as another creature came at him. It allmost fell upon him, but he lashed out blindly, slicking open its throat, pushing past the creature he made his way to the small house. There he banged on the door. "Its me Xerxes, will you let me in?" he asked in his deep, calm voice, only his breathing was a little fast.

OOC: guys you really need to slow down, we lost another Rper because we were moving too fast.

IC: Fanier really didn't care at all for the political argument that was going on; personally he thought that it was a waste of breath and an even bigger waste of time. He was relieved when the topic of the conversation returned to their plans.

"Well," he began. "I would prefer the northern route, but it seems I am outvoted." He paused and looked at everyone. "It would seem we are taking the southern route. In that case, we should ready ourselves tonight. We can probably find some horses in the castle stable."

I wonder how my boots would look, up that moronic nords ass? Kiel clears his throat. "Yes I agree, this ridiculous matter needs to be put aside. Now it appears that the vote is in favor of the land route, so whats the final plan?"

IC: "Alright then. We will take the southern land route, which wil ltake us through the southern half of the Red ring road, and to the Imperial City."

Amiel paused for a moment, and then turned to Primo, saying "Primo, I need you to speak with the count, and attempt to get him to go with us."

Amiel then turned to Fanier and said "Fanier, I need you to round up any horses you can find in the castle stables, and if possible a wagon. There may be a unused one somehwere in the courtyard."

Amiel then turned to Dynter. "Dynter, I'm going to need your help getting food to the wagons. After that, we'll go and round up weapons and armor from the castle's stock."

Primo nodded in agreement, turning for the door, but suddenly stopping.
" The Count is a Vassal of the Empire, but he is also a Dunmer. Are there perhaps any Dunmer in the castle who could come along?"
As he waited for an awnser, Primo turned to Hirrus and Fey.
" Hirrus, go find out which of the gaurds are willing to come with us. Fey, go scavenge some scrolls and potions and whatnot. "

(OOC: I'm coming back for a while, but if this gets back to three pages in a night, I'm gone)

Tadave sat in the armory, his repairs of the bow finally complete. He slipped it around his shoulder, and grabbed a quiver of 30 arrows from a shelf. He strapped that onto his back and strapped his belt back onto his waist. 'Is that everything?' he asked himself, before reaching down to his medicinal bag leaning on his chair. He slipped it on, and went to see if he could help. Tadave stopped halfway, his stomach growling loudly. He turned on his heel, grabbing a piece of venison and heading out, eating as he went.

IC: "I wouldn't know about that Primo. Your going to have to search the castle yourself for any more dunmer. Also, if you run into the court mage, you know the breton guy with black hair that screens people when they come in? Try to get him to come with us. We could use a healer." Amiel then began looking for a sack, and finding one, stuffed it with bread along with various fruits and vegetables.

"That's one bag of food. Now lets see..." Amiel then took a second sack, and stuffed it with meat. He then poured a large amount of salt into it, and holding the bag by its opening, shook the sack in order to distribute the salt.

"You guys like soup right? 'Cause that's about all this meats going to be good for."
