The Dead Horde: Part 2

OOC: if you want to unleash the fast zombies soon, go ahead. Xa-raku could use some exercise :P

IC: Xa-raku leapt onto the next rooftop. It was fairly flat, and he thought it a good place to relax for a moment and catch his breath. There were a few corprus already trying to enter the building beneath his feet. He couldn't imagine there being anyone left alive inside, so he simply looked around for any less infested areas that might have survivors. Meanwhile, Trisha and Radek heard footsteps above them as Xa-raku walked about on the roof.

Dynter followed Amiel out and watched as a corprs beast pulled him to the ground. Dynter charged in and knocked off the beasts head before it could do further damage to Amiel. He gave Amiel a hand to help him get up. "We have to find a healer" Dynter said "We're all wounded to some degree" Dynter's face was no longer recognizable with the still flowing blood and the ripped up skin obscuring his face. He followed Waylas and Amiel a they continued on thier way out of the castle. With the advantage of no guards, the corprus were now banging on the castle. Dynter turned to Waylas and Amiel and said "Waylas you drive the Wagon, me and Amiel will the clear the roads for you until we get to the edge of the city, looks lke time for an early departure. Quickly now. We don't have much time.."

IC: Waylas got on top of the horse that was pulling the supply wagon. I guess we're leaving the weapons behind. Waylas thought, as he looked to the second wagon that had the weapons and arrows in it. Amiel rushed up to the gate winch, and yelled "We need to give the others a chance to escape!" Amiel stood ready at the winch, ready to open the gates at a moment's notice.

Kiel fought his way to the gate, cutting down corpus left and right. He hopped into the back of the wagon. "I wasn't done yet..." Kiel said.
Kiel drew his bow and began shooting at any corpus that dared approached the caravan.

Primo

Primo walked down the hall to the Counts bedroom.
" Count Indarys, I am an Officer with the Imperial Legion, if you would please accompany us to the Imperial City.."
The count stood up and cut him off.
" I will come. But you must help me rescue my son, Farwil Indarys from the Knights of the Thorn Lodge outside Cheydinhal. He.. "

There were screams in the hallway and groans assumedly belonging to Corprus.
" There's Corpus in the castle! "

They all heard it, it was unmistakable. Without a word, Primo, Hirrus, Fey, Count Indarys, and the Count's Bodygaurd drew weapons and burst through the door.
" Quick, we must get out of the castle. "
Hirrus said hurredly as he notched an arrow and fired at a Corprus beast, piercing its skull.
Lucky shot..

They all ran down the hallway, Cheydinhal Gaurds joining them along the way, including the towns Jailor.
" Head for the door! "

A few corpus ran towards them, Hirrus got off two shots in quick succession.
One hitting the beast in the knee, slowing it down, the other to the chest as the Jailor bashed it in the head with his mace.
A beast lept into the air, flying towards Fey. Primo jumped in front of him, impailing it on his sword.

Bracing his shoulder, Primo ran into the door, seeing the others were already outside.
A slow moving corprus came out of nowhere and clawed at the Count. In seconds his bodygaurd and another gaurd were stabbing it repeatedly.
" This is not the time for redundant overkill! By Akatosh, we don't have the time! Run! "

Reaching the others, everyone wielding a bow turned and fired as fast as they could, felling a few corpus, but more came yet still.
" Stendarr, have mercy. Do not let Arkay end my life yet. "

Fimmion

No sleep for Fimmion tonight.
With the Corprus below, he just couldn't stand to sleep.

Maybe... Maybe he could make it to that tree over there, and the next, and the next?
If he could get close enough to some sort of settlement, preferably Cheydinhal, he could get some help.

Fimmion braced himself, thanking the gods that he was a Bosmer, and not one of the less nimble races of Tamriel.
With an almighty push, he seemed to fly to the tree across from him.

Now, If i can just do that another couple hundred times i can get out of here.

It wasn't the most practical idea, but right now it was the only one he had.

( OOC: Not to bash Basher, (Pun Intended), But, cutting down corpus after corpus? Corpus may have decayed minds, and some are slower than most of us, but they are still strong, maybe even stronger than the average joe. You have "some" food. You have been in a closet for 3 days, you are weak. And whats the thing about Corpus corrupting the Legion, do you mean infecting some? and there were no "Legion" other than Cheydinhal Gaurds in the city until i arrived. and 210, 5'11? Not going to bash much on that, just tell you i'm 5'11 and i weigh 132 lbs and im not anorexic. You are chubby. 5'11 could easily be a Grade 9 student, and no one i know is 210, not even the tallest guy in my school, which is like 6'1 and lifts weights etc. *Endrant* Sorry for not posting, i've been with my girlfriend all day. 20 posts and this threads over. Slow it down boys, i can understand these quick action moments but, keep in mind the slower posters, and maybe send 1 or 2 a summary of what happened. I've got PolishGamer covered. )

Fimmion

Fimmion stood against the thick solid tree trunk, resting his hand against the rough bark.
One... Two.... Three...
Running out to the tip of the branch silently, Fimmion used the forward momentum to propel himself forward to the next tree.
It looked like he would make it, he could almost reach out and touch the branch in front of him.
But not quite. However nimble and graceful Bosmer may be, this was anything but.
Fimmion landed in a heap on the ground, bringing attention to himself with a loud thud.

Fimmion looked down to his leg. There was a lump where the bone had cracked and been displaced.
As he examined the injury, deciding whether Alchemy or Magick would be the best solution, he suddenly realised something.

The creatures.

As Fimmion looked up bewildredly, he noticed about 6 of the beasts lumbering towards him slowly, as if their minds had been decayed and this was the fastest movement they were capable of.
He fumbled for his bow, notching an arrow clumsily. Taking aim at the nearest's head, he released.
Dead on. hahaha.
Fimmion laughed briefly at the pun, before one of the things came from around the tree behind him.
Just when it seemed it was about to swing at him, the thing lumbered right on past him.
Every one of the beasts walked in the direction of Cheydinhal, paying no attention to him.

What made it even wierder was that they seemed to walk with a purpose. Before they would simply wander wherever they pleased.
Now it seemed something was calling to them. Driving them to something specific.

Fimmion sat and pondered this new peculiarity. So mesmerized he simply sat with an arrow notched, watching the strange creatures pass by him and weave through the trees.

OOC:Wooly, stop posting one liners.

"Everyone! Prepare yourself, we're evacuating the Castle!" Amiel then began turning the winch that would open the castle gate. The gate slowly rose to its open position, inciting anger from the corpus beasts that had penetrated the castle walls. Some of them managed to get onto the walls, and they were poised to jump down and attack when Amiel finished opening the gate.

"MOVE MOVE MOVE!" Waylas' wagon was off, with Amiel in front of it to clear any corpus beasts. Fortunately the roads weren't as clogged as they had been, presumably because most of the corpus beasts had broken into the castle. A few corpus beasts did come though at the sound of the wagon, and Amiel quickly moved to engage, stabbing one of the creatures in side before moving on to deal with the others.

Tadave quickly hopped off the railing and drew his bow. while in his stupor, corprus had overun the castle. He ran torwards it, and saw a wagon come out, with corprus hot on it's heels. He pulled an arrow and notched it, waiting until he had a perfect shot, loosing the arrow. It flew through the air and dropped slightly into the top of the creature's skull. It dropped quickly and rolled down the hill. Corprus noticed him, so he put away his bow and drew his blade, plunging it into a corprus that had risen from under the bridge. He ran after the wagon, cutting through diseased bodies with expert precision. A corprus made a jump for the wagon, and Tadave cast a fireball at it, connecting in mid-air and sending it reeling, the fire spreading quickly. He was hit from behind and he hit the ground chin first. He rolled over quickly and stabbed up, catching the beast in the throat. He ripped it to the side, taking off the things head. Coagulated blood spit from it's neck, splatering Tadave's cheek. He flinched, but quickly stood up and ran back torwards the wagon.

Basher ran right out of the castle, corpus running everywhere, when he finally got to the wagon and dove in as the others were shooting arrows above his head, "hold up," Basher said and took a look around, "Where is the count?" He looked over to the left and the count's bodyguard was holding the corpus off, as the count ran. "Where in the heck is Farwil, Aren't we going to save him?

Is it a........................a Mage of somekind? how do you control the......................

Just read the OP, under 'some info on corprus beasts.' It'll explain it.

IC: Fanier fumbled through the castle courtyard to find his horse, which was, miraculously, unharmed. Fanier ran up to and mounted his horse. "Alright, Perce," he spoke in its ear. "Let's go." He sped up to a gallop, drawing his sword and speeding through the gate.

Fanier caught up with the wagon, just as a large group of corprus beasts were were running towards its right side. "AMIEL!" he called out to the man in front of the wagon. "TO THE RIGHT!" He galloped forward to meet the beasts.

Just as he beheaded a corprus beast, he saw a bright light atop a hill, about three-hundred feet away. The light came closer, turning a bright orange. It took Fanier a while to realize it was a big fireball.

Fanier dove off his horse, and as he lay on the ground, he saw his horse thrust into the air by the force of the fireball, hitting the castle wall in flames. [censored], he thought. He looked back to the hill, and saw a figure where the fireball had come from.

Looking around him, he realized the beasts were no longer there. Instead, they were absent-mindedly walking down the road toward the hilltop. Fanier got up and got in the wagon. "There's something over on that hilltop," he told the others, pointing toward the spot where he had seen the fireball. "It's controlling the beasts."

iC: Amiel looked behind him, and saw Fanier riding up on his horse. Heeding the warning, he looked to his right and moved to engage the approaching corpus beasts when fire rained down upon the group. Amiel quickly dove into a ditch, but the fireball had startled Waylas' horse, and the wagon landed on its side. Amiel looked up to the hilltop, and noticing a figure there, wondered who it might be. As he heard Fanier's idea that it was controllling the corpus beasts, he realised they needed to move quickly. Amiel ran over to Fanier in order to help him up.

"We won't be able to engage it unless we want casulties. Let's right the wagon and get moving."

Amiel rushed over to the now toppled wagon, and lifted it up, righting it. Waylas, who had been thrown off his horse, came over to help get stuff back onto the wagon. They managed to get everything back onto the wagon when they realised that waylas' horse was gone.

"[censored]! Waylas, go find that horse!"

Waylas dashed down the road, looking in alleys and the like for the now missing horse.

"We need to run if we can't find the horse!" basher said to the others, "I don't know what that thing is, but I don't like it!"

Basher had dove out of the wagon just before the fireball had hit, He was sitting behind a tree, in fear of the figure on the hill seeing him

OOC: Da pig is in da house! Sorry for not being online much today, for once in my life i actually was low on time. BTW, Wooly, your on a slippery slope, I suggest reading the origional post and if you really want to get a feel for the RP, read the first thread. Try and post in away that corresponds with the rest of our posts, and try to make use of the handy tool known as "Common Sense".

IC: Dynter walked along with Amiel, Corprus after corprus fell to their weapons as wave after wave of corprus hit the ground, for a time it seemed they were unstoppable, and as new people joined the Wagon, including Fanier, Dynter began to actually think they were going to make it out of this hellhole. Then the fireballs came. A fireball flew at Dynter, he dodged it just barely. With his keen eyes, which he had gotten from the elf side of his ancestory, he managed to get a glimpse of the mage on the hill. But he realised it wasn't a mage...it was a corprus...He scanned the creature closely, observing its behaviour, he would right it down in his journal later and give it to....He blanked his mind as he had been teached. Even your own thoughts were unsafe from some men.

In the while he took staring at the beast, two corprus had sneaken up behind him, one was a stalker and one a hulk. The stalker grabbed him while the hulk punched him in the chest. He groaned from the blow...he was weak enough already. Dynter mustering all his strength quickly lashed out and threw the Stalker over his shoulder, depositing it on the ground. Dynter turned arond and dodged the hulks next punch. With fluid movements, he dodged a second punch from another hulk who had joined in. Swinging his Hammer with all his might, he struck the first hulk in the side sending it flying and knocking down the second hulk. Dynter walked over and finsihed off both of them. He turned to amiel who was busy fighting and said "I think we should attack the corprus on the hilltop, it seems to be the leader. If we kill it, we might even be able to save chaydinhal, rather then flee it." Dynter wasn't sure, but if there was one thing that kept a man alive, it was hope. Hope to live through another day.

OOC: Long post to make up for all the previous short ones, hehe.

Primo

Flanking either side of the wagon, the gaurds raised thier shields in a Phalanx like formation, effectively killing Corprus.
Primo and Fey ran up beside Amiel, swords at the ready. A Corprus beast came from beside Primo, who was oblivious to it.

As one of the beasts charged Primo from the front, the one behind him swung at his head.
At the last possible second Fey raised the weapon above his head, bringing it down and slicing its arm off before it hit.
Simultaneously, both Primo and Fey lunged forward, cleaving through contorted flesh, and then wheeled around to decapitate each others combatant.

The heads rolled onto the stone, Primo turned to Fey.
" Not bad. "

As they saw the man in the distance fighting off Corprus, Hirrus ran to get a better view, notching an arrow as he went.
Another survivor would be great.
Releasing, the arrow whistled through the air, sticking out of the creatures neck.

If one were to be watching this from some unknown vantage point, it would have seemed a part of a tale for the ages.
Men and Mer alike fighting to the death with a new plague come to Cyrodil.
In the middle of the night, bloody and tired, they would fight through the streets slick with blood.

Little did they know, someone was watching.

Fimmion

After a while, when all the Corprus had passed beyond his sight, Fimmion regained his senses.
Placing the bow on the ground beside him, he continued to ponder what these creatures even were.
They were so.. deformed. Bulging humps of flesh covered their horrid bodies.

Taking a look at his leg, he decided he was too drained to use magic to heal his leg.
The Alchemic route to healing it would take longer, but he would need his strength to find a settlement, where he could rest and heal fully.
After working for a while to create a suitable potion, he was feeling fatigued.
Drinking the potion for his injury and one to restore his energy, Fimmion sat back against the tree and began to curse out loud.

Wait.. A dead tree would be fine.

Fimmion looked around for a fallen tree, he would need to make a crutch from it.
Spotting one about one hundred yards away he began to crawl towards it.

Suddenly, a pack of wolves darted towads him.
Where they coming to help him?
They're just like those creatures.. Lets hope this still works.

Fimmion put out his palm, pushing the magic through his body.
The three wolves were almost near him, this had to work.
They suddenly slowed, now only trotting towards him, friendly looks on their faces.
Thank god it still works.

It seemed they were not as worse off as the humanoid creatures from before.
They weren't deformed, suffering only from a more feral look and a lump or two.
Fimmion looped his arms over two of them, the third grabbing onto his shirt and tugging him towards the dead tree.

Grateful for the help, he tossed a few scraps of meat to them and patted them on the head.
Drawing a short elven blade he worked into the wood, carving out a crude crutch.
With the help of his new canine companions Fimmion propped himself up on the crutch.
He couldn't do much fighting with one hand. From now on he was reliant on spells and these three wolves.

Fimmion laughed out loud.

iC: Amiel turned to the rather young imperial who had just spoken up and said "Just keep your head down kid and follow the wagon." Amiel turned towards to the street when he heard the sound of hooves hitting the ground. Waylas had retrieved the horse. As he neared the wagon he dismounted and quickly went about hooking the horse up to the wagon. Amiel then turned to Dynter, who had chimed up saying that they should attack the creature on the hill.

"Dynter, it has the high ground, we can't attack it without risking casulties. We're better off retreating!"

Two lame corpus advanced towards the wagon, seemingly fixed on the horse. Amiel moved towards the creatures, decapitating one. The ohter one responded by swiping him in his side. Amiel staggered backwards, but was unable to regain his balance before being hit again. Fortunately, he managed to say on his feet, and he managed to stab the corpus beast in the leg. THe wound was not any major inconvience, but at least the beast was now walking with a limp. Amiel then backed away from the creature, and exploting his higher manuverability, circled around to the creatures rear and severed its spine with one thrust of his sword.

Waylas had finally gotten the horse and wagon ready again, and quickly mounted the horse. Waylas then resumed his move towards the city gates.

ooc: Not really a long post spider pig ;)

ic: If there was one thing that bothered Durus more than being locked in his own house like this when those things were out there smashing on the doors and boarded windows - it was when they were silent. When they didn't make any noise, there was nothing. Not even birds or the wind, it was as if everything was dead outside, and even the gods chose to frown on this forsaken spot. It frightened him more than any creature ever could.

It was the fear that kept him awake through many of the nights, sometimes he could sleep through it, but not this night. Fortunately, he had the book. Durus pondered if it would seem morbid reading through the diary of a dead father, but he had nothing else, only these words written on an old, damaged book.

But within those words - within the sentences that adorned the paper, he had gotten to know this man and his daughter like any of his friends. It was fascinating. The man -Daric- had lived next to him for as long as he had been here, they had talked occasionally, about random things, but he had never truly known him. Now, his emotions and feelings were all in the room with him, all of his life for the past few years was recorded in this one book. The man was a poet, he described the little things in detail, and pondered questions that Durus himself had pondered too. He had been reading the book for a couple of hours now at least, but he wasn't even a quarter way through.

He was thankful.

Reading more intensely than he had ever read before, he skipped through another page as if he had just learnt how to read and was eager to get through as many words as he could. He read quickly but thoughtfully, going through every word as if they were his own, reading and re-reading. Not even the still silence haunted him tonight.

OOC: PM W00tz, KK, He'll catch you up.

IC: Fanier got up with Amiel's help. He agreed with Amiel's decision to retreat from the thing on the hilltop, but he felt something, something drawing himself towards it. It was not like the corprus beasts; he was not being called by it. But he fet an urge to go over there, to see who or what it was. He tried to resist, but the urge grew until he could fight it no longer.

"I'll go over," he said to Amiel. "Alone. I'll sneak over, see what it is, then come back and tell you. Is that alright? Good." He left without waiting for an answer.

Fanier walked among the now docile corprus beasts. He kept his head down, and rubbed some dirt on his arms and face so they woudn't see his unrotten skin. He moved as they did; he limped, hunched his back, and looked down.

As they neared the figure on the hilltop, he could make out certain features. It was a corprus beast. It was not like an ascended sleeper; its facial features were like those of the others. The figure stood up straight and held up his arms. The horde of corprus formed a circle around it accordingly. A green glow seemed to eminate from its hands. The beast moved its hands, pointing into the crowd.

One particularly strong-looking corprus beast emerged from the crowd. It carried the same faint green glow as the leader did. It lumbered over to the leader, its back hunched. The leader placed its hand on the other's head, and the green glow grew brighter. In a few moments, its back straightened, it looked up, and the green glow disappeared.

And then the leader did something unusual; It spoke.

"How do you feel?" It asked the beast in front of it.

"Much better."

"Good."

Now Fanier could see its face better, and what he saw frightened him beyond belief. He not only recognized the beast's face and voice, but he knew who it was.

Stop moaning and read the thread. If you have no idea whats gonig on then just read every post that you haven't read. When you join an RP, you have to have time ready to spend time reading it. And people who devote valuable time to improving this RP shouldn't be ridiculed because others don't have the same level of devotion as them. Sorry for being blunt, but you don't join an RP unless you have time for it.
