To the Devs... If there are LR companions...

Post » Tue Aug 23, 2011 3:41 am

I had a problem with Honest Hearts... the banters from Follows-Chalk and Waking Cloud got annoying. Fast.

Being a PC gamer and modder, I had the ability to solve this problem in a manner outside the game's boundaries, lengthening the period from 3 minutes to 10. I also http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/images/41911-1-1305943470.jpg to illustrate my aggravation when I released this mod for everyone else. Almost all the comments on the mod I released was people saying stuff like "Finally!" or "Beats my solution: a shotgun to the face", or "Can you make one for Dead Money too?"

Since there seems to be a delay for Lonesome Road, could you take some time to lengthen the period between any banter for any companions in it?

To be honest, I liked Dean and Christine in DM, one has a cool voice, the other can't speak. But I hate hearing lines about 'Master' every 2 damn seconds.

I liked christine. Dean didn't really bother me and i just kept god out so i wouldnt have to hear crying every few minutes. I didnt think waking cloud was annoying, but i found myself wishing i accidentally killed follows chalk when i first saw him.

I didn't mind Follow's-Chalk ramblings, but Waking Cloud's is just so annoying. I think it might be because of the voice. If there is a companion in LR then you're right, they shouldn't talk too much.

Or just God's hypocracy in general. One minute critquing the Old World and next craving for a stealth boy... stupid mutie.

I did accidentally kill him the first time I saw him, thus making the entire first playthrough of honest hearts pretty unexciting.

That too. I prefer God over Dog, nothing annoyed the hell out of me more than hearing about ripping off my pipboy every second.

Well, a mutie's a mutie. I hated them both, I really don't like the idea of having any freaking super mutant following me. A ghoul is okay, in Raul's case, but never a Mutie.

I liked Dog, he was lovable. I kind of felt bad for him, better-him-than-me though I guess. God was annoying. Christine and Dean where really awesome characters, and I don't recall them talking much. TBH, I loved all of the character's in Dead Money except God.

If there are companions in LR, I just hope I'm not required to use them. I avoid them whenever I can and hate that some of the DLCs require me to babysit them while I go about my business.

I agree. However, I somehow think Lonesome Road will be . . . lonesome. Maybe Ulysses will be a temp companion at the end, who knows.

I would like a dialogue option: "Hey, just shut the [censored] up will you?"

Definetly needed, it reminds me of fallout 3 with that annoying guy that you have to take from little lamplight to bigtown. He wouldn't shut up and was as annoying as [censored] but if you passed a speech check you could tell him to "shut the [censored] up already!" It is definetly a necessary dialog option that should have been included in honest hearts.

Yea I noticed this in Honest Hearts, both of your followers repeated themselves constantly.

Hell friggin yes, some of the DLC companions brought the annoyance level up several notches.
There's just WAY too much/frequent blathering from them, not to mention the constant &(#="ing comments when sneaking, it's shocking that that wasn't simply removed after the annoyance with characters like Arcade and Lily who wouldn't shut up when sneak toggling, that was just atrocious, but these DLCs are just another level of annoying when it comes to blabbering companions.
