Random Observations of Morrowind from someone who has not seriously played in a Decade

Rediscovering Morrowind for the first time in over a decade, there's a lot of stuff I either forgot/missed in my last time around. Rather then start a billion threads over every little thing, I figured I'd condense it all into one thread.

As for why an Orc...the reasonings are two fold. First, Orc was the first ever race I rolled in Morrowind - until I got him stuck in a cave with no way to get out (This was so long ago, I didn't even know the console existed, and I always only kept one save file - and I stupidly saved when I dropped in the hole). The second is because the Orismer are outcasts while still being part of the Mer race. To me, it seems like the perfect fit for the Nerevarine, plus I see Malacath getting amusemant out of it.

Okay, some disjointed trains of thought...

- I'm honestly surprised at how much I'm able to do in Morrowind at Level One. Oh sure, there are enemies I simply can't fight, but I'm surprised at how much I can take on in the Gnisis/Al Velothi region without fuss or bother.

- Exploring Gnsis after joining up with the Legion, I was shocked to find Utadeek - an Argonian Slave - in the same trade house as General Darius. Casts a bit of a shadow on the Legion in this region.

- I remember just offloading my junk on any old merchant back in the day. Just now, I got ready to sell a massive haul of goods to the Smith in Al Velothi and realized "You know what, I can get a far better deal out of the Legion Smith in Fort Darius." Forgot how reputation stacks in this game.

- Speaking of Reputation, saving the Pilgrim from the Ashlanders and deciding to nick the Fire Salts the dead Ashlander leader had on his table (Coincidentally, I'm shocked all three were such pushovers. The Dark Brotherhood assassin jumping in was just icing on the cake) resulted in a reputation hit with the Pilgrim and an angry comment by her. I gained no bounty, but I just found that odd. She'll sit there and watch me slaughter a man without comment...but heaven forbid I nick some of his stuff!

- On that note...the Ashlanders made me remember how weird the AI could be. I was all ready for a fight against the two outside...but they calmly stood there and watched me pummel their companions and were even willing to talk to me afterward. Too used to Skyrim, where entire camps come screaming for your blood after you cross a invisible threshold.

Well, now with that out of the way, it's best to be heading back to Gnisis to report in and sell all this stuff. The Dwemer Ruin and Daedric Shrine right outside Al Velothi (I question the logic behind building a outpost within a literal stone's throw of a Daedric Ruin) call to me, but I'm roleplaying as a good Legionnaire. The Soldier of Fortune bit comes later.

Though I do plan on swinging by the (now deserted) Ashlander camp and scoping out what I might have missed, since I no longer have Miss Disapproving Tone with me.
