Fanier looked down at his shepherd's pie. All that remained of it were a few crumbs and tiny lumps of meat. Looking around, he could see that the others were either done or nearly done with their food. "Alright, then," Fanier said as he downed a bit of scotch. "I suppose we should get a move on. Mr. Archibold, I have a mount of my own. I'll go and get ready. Thank you for the meal."

Fanier navigated his way outside and to the stables. "Alright, Perce," he said as he stroked the neck of his Bay horse. "I found some work. And you get to come this time." Perce grunted in affection as Fanier procured an apple from the saddlebags. As Perce munched on the fruit, Fanier pulled an elven shortsword from his saddlebag and fastened it around his back. "This one could get dangerous, Perce," he told his horse. "So be careful."

OOC: Sorry Mr. Boom. Feel free to drop back in.

IC:

THE HEROES

The small but scrumptious feast was soon devoured, and the more polite wiped their mouths and re-folded napkins, whilst the less subtle and well mannered belched and stretched, rubbing their stomachs.

"Come, good friends, let us ride into the night!" Said Archibold.

Jeeves sniffed disdainfully at the group, looking at the more impolite down his nose and others with consideration, and sometimes adoration.

The old man and his butler than processed outside to the stables, soon to be followed by The League. They would need to make good time, taking back roads and cutting across smaller towns and villages, if they expected to make it to Skingrad in time to save the Count.

Skingrad, Southern Gate

Darnmon's men proceeded stealthily through town, avoiding the riotous peasantry. However, as two of his men approached the southern gate after a rather uneventful journey, they were swung wide by the guards to omit a black-clad rider, heeling his steed on so quickly the two had to dive to either side to avoid him.

They caught no sight of his face.

They got back up. The gates were closed by those in the guard house, and the two exchanged a glance for a moment.

"Whose going to tell boss the news?" Asked the Imperial one.

"Shield-Crossbow-Spear?" Asked the Nord in response.

After winning the first two of three rounds, the Nord returned to a spot in an alley that gave him full sight of the gate. He never lost at Shield-Crossbow-Spear. The Imperial man would be at Darnmon's inn soon, baring the news.

Edward's voice dropped lower yet, and he glanced about as if wary that he might be overhead. Then he spoke to the Altmer. "I said I'm here for the mage's guild. I'm not, but it's a cover story that could get me inside and won't alert them."

He looked the Altmer in the eyes, not hesitating a bit, "The Count is in grave danger, and I have information that can save his life. I have to speak to him before they get here, and before they find out that I'm here."

Skingrad Keep

"I'm the one with the mages guild. Now I need a name or it's to the dungeons with you, knave!" The Altmer was growing angsty. Suddenly, three more robed figures rounded the corner.

"What's the delay? Who's that?" The Altmer turned to responded, leaving his back open to Edward.

The Butler, mean while, had gone off to the antechamber of the keep. He noticed a man sitting and wait. "Sir, may I help you?" he asked the individual. Little did he realize he was the second Dissenter in two minutes he'd asked that question.

OOC: I assume that's me. If not, I always have the edit button.

IC: Luc whirled to face the man. Ah, the butler. Hopefully one not too intelligent. Luc grinned and said, "Yes, good sir. I'm seeking an audience with Count Hassildor. You see, I'm Luc Bertrand of the Colovian Interests Guild. I'm sure he is already expecting me." Luc took a look around the keep, pretending to take interest in the architecture. "What a marvelous castle. The only one more grand is the Imperial Palace." Luc kept on grinning while thinking, I'm sure I can win this dumb peasant over. I've convinced nobles smarter then him to do my bidding.

Wariel neared the bridge to castle Skingrad. "Where are all the guards?" he said to himself. The dissenters probably created a distraction in town. He burst through the courtyard, hardly taking anytime to dismount outside. He quickly opened the doors to several men and a rather terrified Altmer. "Who are you? You are not part of the league. You'd better talk or this will get ugly real fast." He unsheathed his sword and braced himself.

OOC: okay seeing that most of the heros are already heading straight to the castle Cyrus is going to forget about going back into the city and instead stake out the gates to the castle.

Cyrus and the imperials had decided it might be better to wait right outside the castle and stake out to see if anyone suspicious was trying to get into the castle. The three were sitting curled up in a well that stood in the middle of the castle Skingrad Courtyard. And the thing was that it was cramp, dark, and moist and Cyrus had been pretty much forced to have to listen to the people talking above him. He couldn't see anything due to the fact that the well was in plain sight and lifting up the grate would be a pretty good give away that he was hiding. And he pretty much decided he didn't wanna get pelted with arrows and swords while stuck inside a cramp well with two idiots who couldn't fight worth a damn.

Cyrus was focusing on a couple key words like protect or someone talking about trying to "stop" the assassins. He svcked at reconizing voices and so he would just have to hope that someone would let it slip that they were here to protect the count and try to foil their plans. But that wasn't the only problem, it also was hard to hear with the constant complaints of Jason and Babbles as they continually whined about the scracity of space and light. And now he was just was just waiting in silence. A couple of time he had yelled at his two annoying imperial accompliaces to shut up or else someone would figure out he was here. But for now half the battle was just figuring out who his enemys are.

OOC: This is getting out of control. Completely so.

Right, sorry to do this, but for RP purposes we need to assume everything the League did happened a week ago. The reasons for this are

1) With the scope of the world like it is and as I've planned, getting there so fast would be ridiculous.

2) I don't think anyone, least of all the heroes, know what's going on.

So, effectively all Heroes are in front of the North Eastern Skingrad gate. Dissenters, your still where your last post left you (remember to look at weather changes).

IC:

The Heroes

Archibold and his man servant were at the head of the column when the city came into sight. They had all found mounts, either having them or obtaining them. It was night, and dark clouds grew.

Thunder growled in the distance, echoing after a bright light from the west, over the city. A storm was not just brewing, but heading there way. Regardless, the full moon was still uncovered. Dark clouds drifted, however, in the night sky over the city. It all had an eerie feel to it.

Skingrad Keep

"Ah, yes," replied the butler. "Well, your not the first to seek audience tonight. I'll get back to you, but it may not be soon as I believe there are... complications, with his latest guest." The butler seemed uneasy.

Mean While, a khajiit named Panthar Ghasta had been follwing the heroes in the tracks. He had been sent by the heroes guild to aid the Heroes. He travelled horseback and made his way to Skingrad to find the heroes. Throughout the whole time, Panthar had only been a mile behind them.

After awhile of hard-riding the North Eastern Skingrad gate and the group of heroes came into view. they stood just outside the gate. Panthar rode up to them.

''Greetings! My name is Panthar Ghasta! I've been sent to aid you! I am a capable fighter and look forward to helping you,'' said the Khajiit when he came close enough to the group.

OOC: There's just not enough time in the day...

IC: Darnmon was leaning against the wall from his bar seat, shrouded by the shadows, his eyes closed. Many thoughts went through his mind right then, swirling around in chaos. Thoughts of murder, destruction, and all the other forms of evil his master wished to take place. Darnmon was the person for the job, his sanity having gone a long time ago. He still appeared sane on the outside, but it was all just a ruse, a ruse for the sake of his master. When things would come to blows, his true mindset would become obvious. Until then, he sat in silence.

Blissful, uninterrupted silence, until an Imperial lad, one of his men, came barging through the front door, allowing light to spill out into the darkening streets. He walked over to Darnmon and sat down beside him, nervously fidgeting in his seat until Darnmon lazily opened one eye to look at him.

"What?"

The Imperial glanced quickly at the door. "Well, you see boss, some guy made it into the city."

"Really? And who was it."

"Well, see that's the thing. We didn't catch his face. But he was riding up a storm, like the minions of Dagon were behind him. Nearly trampled me and Sven. And he definitely wasn't no lousy peasant, boss."

Much to his own displeasure, he found that he now had Darnmon's full attention. "Which gate?"

"The southern one."

"Then gather some extra men there and watch for more intruders. I'll head up to the castle myself. If anyone else shows up... Kill them."

"Gotcha boss."

The Imperial made his exit, still glancing over his shoulder in surprise that he wasn't dead yet. Darnmon leaned back again, closing his eyes. It wouldn't do to kill the help on a whim. That was no way to inspire trust and loyalty. And Darnmon knew all about loyalty.

The Altmer had turned his back to Edward, and Edward wasted no time -- he'd had enough of this suspicious old coot. He quietly, swiftly, unsheathed the dagger at his belt with one hand, and with another retrieved the summons to Lord Dread's conference. The invitation didn't address him by name, and would be a perfect plant to incriminate the Altmer. In a lightning move, he dove forward, seized the Altmer firmly, spun him around and drove the blade up through his throat and into his skull. At the same time, unseen by anyone, he slipped the invitation into a pouch that hung at the other man's side.

The Altmer didn't even have time to react, beyond a soft gurgle; and then he collapsed, dead, to the ground. Edward addressed the group of soldiers and courtiers that was making haste to surround him, and spoke firmly and calmly. "This man was an assassin! He had come to kill the Count. My name is Edward, and I serve the Arch Mage. I was sent here, unknown even to this traitor, as a secret ambassador to warn the Count, and stop this murderer at any costs!"

It was a brazen ruse, but Edward figured it was worth a shot. And, anyway, at least he got to take that nosy Altmer out of the picture.

OOC: Forget my last post ever happened.

IC: Wariel rode up to Skingrad hurriedly. It was then realized not to be foolish and go to the north east gate immediately, but instead headed for the gate with the least screams and smoke billowing out of it. He decided that the southern gate looked the safest. But as he neared it he noticed two Imperial men at the gate. These two were armed and looked suspicious, but he decided not to question them.

"Greetings friends. Might I come in? Or do you want gold? I've got gold..."

Cyrus had pretty much given up the well. Babbles and Jason had run off, and he had been there for well over an hour. And as he headed down the hill he had decided that he woiuld try and stake out the south gate. The walk there was long since Skingrad castle was up on a tall ass hill, and made Cyrus think "What is the count preparing for a Tsunami?". But finally he reached the southern gate, and as soon as the redguard opened the door to his suprise an imperial was standing awkardly infront of two other imperials. He seemed kinda of nervouse like he wasn't sure these people were safe or not. And thats when Cyrus realized he found his enemy.

"Who the hell are you!!", yelled Cyrus.

Felix eyes slowly opened, a massive pain emitting from the back of his head. He could feel something wrapped around his legs, and barely see a fire.

Where... am I... he thought to himself, letting out a groan. The last thing he had remembered was seeing the city of Skingrad a day away, and then some action happened, involving something hitting him in the back of the head. Bandits. he thought, remembering now. While moving toward the city, he was ambushed by a group of bandits. Since he had barely anything on him, Felix assumed they were holding him for ransom.

His vision began to get slightly better, Felix now seeing that he was tied up and hanging upside down in a cave. No one was in it, so Felix assumed that the bandits were out looking for other victims. Letting out a growl, the traveller began pulling his body toward the rope, wrapping his hands around it so he was no longer upside down. He then looked up.

The rope was poorly tied, so, just a little pull.. a creak emitted, some stones falling off the roof of the cave. Felix felt himself fall down on the stone ground, letting out a grunt. Some blood now rolled down his forehead and in between his eyes, Felix assuming either from the blow behind the head, or from the rough landing. He slowly stood, fatigue hitting him.

"Got to get out of here..." he said, walking down a passage way. Felix took notice that his weapons, cloak, and shirt was taken from him, he walking around only in his pants, the caves cold air blowing against him. Not helpful at all. A few turns, and Felix found himself looking at a room with a few candles, a gray table, and a bandit sleeping on a chair next to it.

Felix then took notice of his equipment on the table. Cloak, shirt, top shirt, gloves, and his beloved blade. He then looked to the bandit, slowly creeping toward it. Felix slid a large rock on the ground into his hand, recognising the bandit as the one that hit him in the back of the head with.. what ever it was.

Now inches away, Felix set his hand on the bandits mouth and noise firmly, it opening its mouth and letting out a muffle.

"My turn." was all Felix said before slamming the rock against the bandits temple, a small amount of blood squirting out of the side. Felix pushed the corpse to the ground, looking at it. He set a hand to his mouth, turning away and gazing at his gear. All though used to fighting creatures like golblins and what not, Felix never officially killed a human being. The worst he ever did was let the guards help him.

Felix let out a sigh, grabbing his shirt and sliding it on, then his overshirt, it a mix of green and brown in color. He grabbed his gloves, sliding them onto his hands and strapping them across his wrist before setting his sheathe on his belt and setting the sword in it. Lastly, he grabbed his green cloak and wrapped it around his neck, exiting the cave to see many clouds forming in the sky, thunder booming overhead.

Felix pulled the hood of his cloak onto his head, spotting Skingrad not to far away. Perhaps twenty minutes of walking would do the trick, and hope fully no more bandits. Felix began heading in its direction, the winds causing his cloak to move with them a little.
