The Divines 'nd tingz

Anyway, I'm a little bit muddled. In my TES youth I always used to stand by Akatosh as the protector of mankind, and thought he was the most badass thing ever. i just read through some UESP pages (I know, they're not entirely true all the time) and discovered that the Elven Akatosh is Auriel, who is basically the deity version of the Thalmor (seeking to find a way to get rid of the mortal plane and ascend everybody to immortality). This makes me think Akatosh is evil too, it's quite confusing. I know you have to approach it with the idea that there can be multiple versions of a god, all to show different characteristics of a god, but I can't help thinking that Akatosh is kinda evil? Any help on the matter?

Cheers.

http://www.imperial-library.info/content/where-were-you-when-dragon-broke-complete-version

In order to sever Akatosh's ties to Alduin and Auriel, the Marukhati Selectives way back in the First Era caused a Dragon Break, which resulted in Akatosh becoming its own entity and the Selectives disappearing. It's why people say that Alduin isn't Akatosh. It's because well, he isn't anymore.
