The Door [RP]

The Door

The end of the Oblivion Crisis marked the Fourth Era. First of all, Tamriel is in pretty good shape. The Council now rules the Empire, and places are being rebuilt. Secondly, we have a war between the Nords of Skyrim and the Bretons of High Rock. But, that has nothing to do with you for right now.

4E 11, a Scholar discovered the position of an old Ayelid Ruin. It was just another abandoned city, nothing to new about it. Upon the searching of the Ayelid Ruin by The Mages’ Guild, they found a powerful force behind a locked door. Even with the strongest of spells, the door was sealed shut. However, an inscription above the door left everyone baffled, it read:

Ahead lies that which is of the Seventeenth. Forgotten it lies, and forgotten it will remain. Only those of the Seventeenth blood may enter, but this is a warning. What lies in the Seventeenth is what no man nor mer has yet to lay eyes upon, and the depths which it contains cannot be counted. Beyond lies the Ancestors’ wasteland, beyond lies hell.

‘What is the Seventeenth?’ Was the only question that was asked for five years. However, upon the searching of the deepest recesses of the Ayelid Ruin, the Guild found a book about the Seventeenth.

It was in an unknown language, which nobody could decipher. They only ever got bits and pieces of it, which basically spelled out: “Those with the blood of the Seventeenth are to have divine powers. Cursed and blessed, they forever live. Only upon reuniting them with their true fate can set free their suffering.”

4E 20, a Breton mage finally figured out the puzzle. He deemed that the blood of the Seventeenth lived on through reincarnation, meaning when a Seventeenth died, it was reborn. After studying many other Ayelid Books, he found that the blood of the Seventeenth could be found in children right now.

And so, the Legion set out to find these children, and after a grueling 10 years, they were all captured. Their ages now range from 13 to 25, and they have been brought to the Mysterious Ayelid Ruin.

4E 31, the children of the seventeenth enter the door…
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What YOU do: You are one of the Seventeenth that was taken by the legion and brought to the Ruin. Right now, the people of Seventeenth are sitting in an antechamber, which beyond it lies the door to the unknown. You, the Chosen, will travel into the unknown, and face what the darkness has to offer.

But you are not without help. Each person can draw upon a special power in dire needs. And with this, you can fight the darkness which lies beyond.

Ex. Johnny the Orc can create an impenetrable shield around him and others to shield them from harm.
Ex. Lucy the Breton can summon an ancient guardian which protects her and others.

In addition to the Special Powers, the chosen have an extremely strong grasp of combat. However, it is locked deep within themselves, and they will have to learn to tap into that power before they can do anything extraordinary.

Ex. After months of meditation, Charlie taps into his power, and is now an extremely skilled fighter. Able to cut through entire trees, and jump 10 feet in the air, Charlie is one deadly warrior.

The plot idea looks really good, but with Vum's RP- that also uses teenagers and already has a lot of RPers- won't this be made a little redundant?

The concept just seems too similar. But I hope I'm proved wrong. :)

Reserved. This looks awesome. But with the combat thing...

Maybe not something as uber as that? Just a suggestion.

You'll think differently when you find out what is actually beyond the door.

Well, if it were advlts, the concept of fear wouldn't be as prominent as I want it to be.
If they are too young, they wouldn't be able to understand their situation, and would just run around crying.

And yes, I hope it plays out well, too. Thanks for the feedback, guys!

Oh. of course the age thing works out fine, but I think you should of released the RP at a different time; maybe after Vum's finishes. In any case, it looks awesome and I hope it does well.

But can I recommend that maybe each child has some sort of weakness; or will it not matter once the door is opened?

Every Child is like you and me. Defenseless and helpless. That is the major drawback. They cannot fight nor fend from themselves. They will have to gain the courage and skills they need to survive. That's why they have their powers, to protect at the start from the evil depths.

Also, the deeper you get, the more complicated and deadly the monsters and creatures become.

Note: Child killing is not allowed on the forums so none of these children (or any others in the RP) must be allowed to die.

Of course, Rohugh. The worst thing that will happen is that they will disappear, but I don't think that's against the rules, is it?

Helpless? That is insulting to teenagers everywhere. I'm fairly certain a seventeen year old can handle himself/herself.

More importantly, why do you insist on forcing everyone to be children? It really seems like it is limiting the RPers creativity without any real purpose behind it. I suggest that you at least up the age thing to mid twenties for human races and mid thirties or forties for elves.

Other than that it looks pretty good; kind of like Blood of the Ancients.

I meant: Could a 17 year old fight off a bear?
Along that lines. Of course, they aren't without hope, they still have some knowledge of survival.

I'm sorry if it offended you.

Alright, I'll up the age. Everyone has given that idea, and I should listen. Power to the People!
