Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 6:40 pm

Hello everyone :)
Lets start to say I havent been playing any of the games before but Im totally in love with skyrim :), one problem tough, In the beginning of the game my knowledge wasn`t so big , So I got the first dragon priest mask and because I was a warrior I didnt find the mask useful for me and didnt know that I was going to use it later on in the game :(, so now 120 hours later I cant remember if I dropped it or sold the mask in the start . but WHY WHY can I drop a quest item, no other item have I sold or dropped if I have sold it ,Is it still in the shop ??or has it just disapeard ?? Its so enoying to dont have the last mask for one stupid mistake ,There should be a patch or something for everyone in the same situation , I dont want to start all over ,()playing on the xbox360)
thanks for answer and tips /Dac

its not really a quest item per-say, it is really more of an extra thing to do while out in the world.. i generally save anything that has a unique name just in case...

I wish they got rid of quest items altogether, and instead had a system where if you were to sell an item which was needed in a quest, it would remain in the merchants inventory forever. If you were to drop it, then when the cell resets it would keep the quest item forever, then you can just use the quest marker to lead you back to your item.

I don't need the game telling me I will need a giants toe and making all my giants toe quest items.

The only problem with my solution is it might make the game saves even bigger, which could lead to longer load times etc.

But on topic, there isn't anything you can do, the DP masks aren't quest items so you can't get the 9th hidden mask on the save you are playing.

Quest items cannot be dropped while the quest is active/unresolved. If it's not a major quest and you've sold it, then I say: hey it's an open world game and you decided to get rid of something you needed later on. Tough luck :)

If you find something unique, just stick it in a chest. Items in chests never disappear.

Thats misleading, only certain chests (e.g. in your home) won't respawn.
