I find the idea the "Defender" has the prerogative to choose the trajectory of a projectile to be quite abhorrent, because then it's controlling the attacking character's character to a degree, by being able to be boiled down to the following situation (Attacker: "I shoot an arrow at the Defender" Defender: "The Attacker's character is a bad shot, and the arrow misses entirely.")

Instead, I see the defender always has two options: Dodge (Either through awareness, or seridipity), or tough it out. Just because it hits doesn't mean it hurts. Personally, in situations such as Ranged attacks, I like rolling a 10 on a modified d20 roll to determine a projectile's trajectory. Ranged combat is somewhere the abstract gameplay of D&D really shines. There are far too many variables to write a trajectory fairly.

Of course, this is just my personal preference.

Just a note: I have a d20 on my side of the screen. I'll be using that when determining the outcomes off attacks against my character, and even reflect the outcome in my description of attacks against foes. (I don't character control, but still give an indication of how effective my attack should be)

You guys seemed to pretty much entirely ignore Revis, but oh well. At least we're finally splitting into sub-groups.

Uglius, are you set on these groups for any particular reason? I was just wondering, as there were a few characters I would very much liked to be grouped with for interaction reasons. I also know that Scow requested to be in a group other than mine, and to also have Rex in his party. If you had your own reasons for this arrangement I'm sure we could work something out, I was just hoping to at least have Revis, Elynniel, and Jarn in my own group, as Baal would have some good chance for interaction with all of them. It's really not a problem, I just wanted to know if you had any express reason for arranging them that way. Thanks ;)

Also, I thoroughly enjoyed Surius' nickname, Scow :P

It would be interesting putting Jarn with the noble and Baan. But then, Jarn and the Breton have already had a small confrontation which would be interesting to explore.
