Lifelong starving bar band and studio musician. :)

I'm fine with people saying they don't like the effects as personal preference, but don't say it's used to mask errors because everytime I use delay effects I make damn sure I don't hit a sour note and have it bouncing around lol.

I didn't say the effects masked errors, I said it masked her tone. She wasn't pitchy, but her range and vibrato was forced.

Well, I don't agree. When someone is singing in a cathedral or large arena and naturally gets the same effect, is their tone affected? I suppose to each their own.

There has been so much editing on the audio of that video that i am enticed to say that that isn't even an acoustic version anymore

still sounds great tho.

She's not bad, but quite overrated. The effect on her voice completely masks her natural tone, and she doesn't have much of a range.

Here comes the parade-rainer... hey man, bread can mold... what can you do?

Even with that expensive microphone and obvious software filters, an untalented, unpracticed singer wouldn't sound so beautiful. My opinion? Ignore Anubis-SC2. Criticism is only useful when it's constructive and helps artists and musicians to improve (or to inform consumers about a product), not when used as a petty way to argue with people who liked the song and insist that it's not as good as they think it is. No one cares, Anubis. Really. While we're showing off though, I'll take the opportunity to mention that I've been playing guitar for eighteen years now, and I'm envious of hers. It's a very sweet-sounding instrument.

Anyway, I love her song and have been posting it all over these forums and the Internet.

She is awesome, there are a few options:

1. Get a record deal by an independent record label, and live happily ever after.

2. Get a record deal by the zionist controlled satanic illuminati music industry, live not so happily ever after.

3. get sued for copyright infringement since I think that lawed passed where you can't just sing whatever song you want if its not owned by you.

4. She fades away into nothingness, only stayin gin the back of the minds of true fans.

im at work and bored, lol, anyways yea she rocks! i would totally dig an album if she made one!

This cover is beautiful, hit me right in the soul
I loved the song, completely, I was sold
Now we need to auto-tune the tune, give it a different lane
A remix with some oomph? Someone holla at T-Pain.

I care about telling you off publicly, not about what you actually have to say. There's a difference. You're being petty and unnecessarily critical.

All I did was voice my opinion that her video could have been much better without all the editing and you freaked out. If someone's petty and unnecessarily critical, it's you.

So I disagree with your opinion. Get over it.

Ultimately, a critique of her "skill" is irrelevant. What matters is the sincerity of the performance. There is a heart, soul and passion in her voice that cannot be taught. She did something extraordinary by sharing that with all of us. I simply see no purpose in trying to knock her down for it.

I just about to say this and I saw you beat me to it. I agree 100%. Who cares if she uses this or that to make her voice good, she put her heart into it and that's what counts. Look at Kurt cobain he had a horrible voice technically speaking but we all loved his music because he put everything he had into every song. Honestly I think here voice would still sound incredible raw. You can tell she can sing. She can definitely play the guitar. I play and its not easy to play like that and sing.

Also please people lets not fight over if her voice is good or not. I started this thread because I saw that a fan made an incredible video and shared her incredible voice. Please just let's enjoy this video, she deserves for people to see it and here it and if this thread gets closed some people may never get the chance.
