is the Dragonborn immortal? : The Elder Scrolls Series Discussion

All mortals have an immortal spirit, but a mortal body. The Dragonborn is the same, only with a more powerful soul. Even Tiber Septim died of old age at 108 years. Only divine beings, liches (loopholes ftw), vampires, those infected with corpus, and daedra have immortal (not necessarily invulnerable) bodies.

Question: If i say Hellmouth is hundred percent correct, will I be accused of brown nosing again?

You already are.

But the Dovahkiin's soul is immortal. It's the soul of Shor.

Whilst his soul is likely immortal, you have to question if breaking the dragon or not influences immortality, not in the sense of old age, but that in every failure exists, but for every one that does exist another instance exists where the dragonborn survives.

This may be true...But Alduin could still feed on Sovengard souls.

And he could still feed on the dragonborn's soul too, so what? In the Dovahkiin's case he's doubly screwed, having a dragon's soul a defeat at the hands of any dragon would reverse the roles and see his soul absorbed, doesn't even need to be Alduin.

I don't think we'll be seeing an immortal PC this time. Remember dragonrend? We've already taken "Mortal Finite Temporary" into ourselves.

What'd be an intellectual nuke is if Beth's with final DLC for Skyrim Dragonborn became a mortal without contradicting Dragonrend...

Some souls are more resilient than others. Don't the souls of regular mortals just get stripped of their memories and recycled through the Dreamsleeve? Shor's just keeps coming back.

Divines and daedra get special treatment, as the gift of Mundus is not meant for them. Mortals get mind wiped and get to try again with a fresh new mind.

Pretty sure we're in agreeance, just not being so specific on my part.
