The Dragonborn should be named High King....

Provided that you're playing as a human race and helping the Imperials, I think that your character should have the option of demanding to marry Elisif as part of the reward for both ending the stalemate in the civil war and saving the world from dragons. Instead, Elisif just stays single, Tullius does nothing and the Jagged Crown simply vanishes.

Realistically, the Imperials would want to appoint their Dragonborn champion as the High King, as he would be an incredibly intimidating symbol of the Empire's power. And once the player has an immense reputation, the people of Skyrim shouldn't be too upset with the decision.

It just seems a bit unfortunate that the Dragonborn is so willing to be everyone's tool, soldier, savior and sellsword without demanding anything more than menial gold and equipment in return. Don't you think Tullius would have given the Dragonborn just about anything he wanted to kill Ulfric?

While I'm torn on the whole "Skyrim lets you have so many titles that they quickly become irrelevant and worthless," I figure that the same guy who is Harbinger, Arch Mage, Master Thief, Listener, Champion of the Empire, and the Dragonborn savior of the world might as well be given a title that only he is truly qualified for.

Unless he's an Elf or Beast race because... well... racism. :P

I dont have a problem with not being High King, I wouldn't want to anyway. Doesn't fit my style.

High King? No. Doesn't fit my character, a sixy female Imperial.

Maybe if I played as a Nord, though.

I was hoping for my stormcloak to be able to marry Ulfric and become a dragonborn queen. But this is only realistic for a Nord, and they're not going to create a reward that's only open to one race.

But I did at least hope to have some political appointment as reward. I would have lopped Elisif's head off to become jarl of Solitude.

If the PC was a Nord male, I'd say yes.

Note Dragon Age Origins had a similar situation. If you played a Human Male, you could marry the queen at the end (if you didn't have her sent to prison). If you played a Human female, you could marry the person you helped name as the new king. If you played Elf or Dwarf, then no royal wedding for you. I know people cried about this but it just made a lot more sense than just letting any race rule the human country. Kudos to BioWare for not giving in to the fanboiz in DAO.

Bethesda, in their political correctness of letting all races have equal options, would never do this as the tears of the hurt fans would soak their ham sandwiches. Eating wet ham sandwiches svcks.
