So, I know that the Chim-El Adabal (Amulet of Kings) can only be worn by a Dragonborn, and that the Dragonborn Emperor wearing the Amulet would light the Dragonfires, but how long have the Dragonfires been a part of the institution? I ask because, what happened when Reman III was assassinated and Potentate Versidue-Shaie took over? Wouldn't the barrier between Mundus and Oblivion have fallen?
