"Um...hello everybody, uh I'm Laurana Vandacia and I'm going to play you some songs this evening." She announced in a voice that she really hoped sounded professional but was actually probably a bit squeaky. She glanced around the Inn to see if anyone had noticed, but quickly looked down. Come on Laurana, you can do this. She told herself over and over. You've played in front of people all your life and you get nervous on this one, why? She knew the answer but wouldn't actually admit it to herself. "The first song will be a traditional bard trail song, which most of you will probably know." Alright I can do this, I can do this. Laurana was still worrying until her fingers hit the first note, and she immediately forgot about the people watching her. As the second note began, Laurana began to sing, in a clear even voice.
"On and on the trail goes
And never shall it cease
On over the horizon
Into the dying sun
The trail takes us through the mighty mountains
Down the winding slopes and across the lush fields
Over the majestic elven bridges and through the maze of trees
The trail continues under our feet
But for a bard the trail never ends
It goes on and on and on
Into the majestic sunset, where the bards live forever in the soaring skies..."
As the last notes were finished Laurana gently replaced her harp on her lap and said, "Thank you."
