The Dude Build. Advice?

Post » Thu Mar 17, 2016 3:21 pm

Does anybody have any advice on how I should play "The Dude" All I can think of is that I'm going to use the bathrobe or just the undershirt and jeans with the armored modification. High Charisma, Sarcastic. Any advice for special and weapons ? I'm not sure the dude would want to really fight anything man...

If you're going for being "The Dude" maybe use a switchblade.

You could also use the junk jet to shoot cigarettes at people.

I suppose there needs to be a quest involving a rug.

I watched the big lebowski all over again to get key aspects. Had lots of fun doing the build. Hope you have fun playing it.

PS: I had two other friends spewing ideas so the references might not be in chronological order. So

str 7: (armorer),strongback, steadyaim, ((heavy gunner))

per 3: awareness, (lockpick after bobblehead), ((rifleman))

end 5: (toughness), lifegiver, chem resistant, aqua boy ,(rad resistant after bobblehead)

cha 8: (local leader) (cap collector) ladykiller, party boy, inspirational

int 3: (vans) (hacker)

agi 1:

luc 1:caps collector

: character trait skills

(): skills recommended competablity

(()): pick one weapon skill can be omitted

Character trait skills explained:

armorer: wear an armored bath robe and sunglasses.

strongback: The dude carries a huge iranian carpet by himself. It looks very heavy. Notice how dude isn't a thief(aka no pickpocket) but an opportunist

steadyaim: The dude is an excellent bowling player. Hence the steady aim.

awareness: Dude can smell piss from afar.

lifegiver: In a disturbingly long scene the guy wearing purple named jesus threatened and insulted walter and survived. It's a sign from heavens. Dude looks like jesus anyhow.

chem resistant: My prejudice but we will be swimming in med x and psycho so better take it.

aqua boy: Very important perk. People tried to drown dude in the toilet yet the dude can obviously breathe under water. The dude is very nonviolent. Aqua boy will help him swim and avoid encounters.

ladykiller: Even with babbling a few words both bunny and maude tried to seduce him.

party boy: He drinks a lot. Even when kidnapped he has a glass of vodka and milk

inspirational: His friends are reluctant to defend him and will follow him to the depths of hell.

recommended skills:

armorer: do the railroad quest to get an armored bath robe.

lock pick: the dude wants to get through as fast as he can. This will allow him the quickest route.

toughness: extra resistance on top of armored bathrobe. don't ruin his image with a hat please.

rad resistant: you are never taking that bathrobe off are you.

local leader: the dude doesn't want to move around. yet you need to sell your loot somewhere. shops at base will be awesome.

cap collector: money for ballistic weave early

vans: the dude doesn't hesitate he always knows the way.

hacker: the dude wants to get through as fast as he can. This will allow him the quickest route.

caps collector: extra caps early will help a lot.

weapon skills:

unarmed: Dude can't combat unarmed obviously he gets his head pushed in the toilet. So no.

melee: Dude can't unarmed thug with a bowling ball after 7 tries. Walter just beats all 3 thugs. So no.

conclusion: any other gun skill will not roll with the dude. Yet you got to have one for the sake of playability.

Overall:

The Dude is loved by his friends and family. He is reluctant to call upon minutemen with flare and heavily arms his companion with many bullets and explosives.

He doesn't like fighting. So most of the time he will swim away and take the longer route. The Dude loves decorating settlements with rugs. Rugs tie the room together.

Yet the Dude minds the hard work and not getting food when he doesn't do his share of hard work. So he scoots to the Railroad. He uses a lot of chems and alcohol.

Very smooth talker and a lady killer. Yet he can't convince thugs that he's not a millionaire before they piss on his rug. He's very unlucky and too convincing.

He failed countless attempts of reasoning with people or convincing his companion's aggresion. Also he doesn't have medic perk cause he can't heart massage

his friend who next to him. He is somewhat intelligent since he figured bunny kidnapped herself. Is not very good with animals since he is very alert when Walter brings his

small dog or some ratlike thing tried bitting his weiner. Also since he is afraid of losing his weiner he must not have adamantium skeleton(you know limb damage).

But not on Saturdays. You'll also need to mod dogmeat into a Pomeranian. With papers.

Well that's a given, he'll need a place, to have a rug, and whatever rug that is, is the One Rug That Ties All Rooms Together

You know, just because the dude failed at combat doesn't mean he's not able to fight, it just means his type of weapon wasn't present in the movie. Clearly he's an energy weapons guy, there just wasn't a laser rifle in the movie. ;)

They have bowling balls in fallout 4? I know they have bowling pins, but I'm not sure how I'd be able to find enough to use in the junk jet.

Bowling balls, kickballs, baseballs... this game is basically balls everywhere you look.

That came out wrong.

No, surround the rug with missile turrets to protect it, that way no one can pee on the rug, because the rug really ties the room together.
