The dumbest things your character has ever done

Post » Mon Jul 05, 2010 12:04 pm

I was riding on a horse and tried to climb over a rock and instead fell through it and couldn't get out until my horse had been killed by a mountain lion. (I did try to dismount.) Then I ran back into the same rock and got stuck in it again.

I then couldn't get out and summoned a creature and tried to kill it to see if it would push me out. It killed me and I then had to load a save that was 4 hours ago.

HA HA HA HA! hillarious...

Pretty funny how all the npc's talk about how great you are, with scowling hate filled features, good thing my character can't understand their words or it would be immersion killing.

:) Nope a demonic tiefling, any quest that can be given or resolved by pointing, or pictures, diagrams and maps is in.
As are certain quests where the giver may be able to communicate through "magic" / daedric knowledge but since she's not an oblivion demon thats rare too.
That or a thieves cant of body language, signals and jabberwocky, as being a knight of the post from the slums, she's used to dealing with the signs.

Resolving is harder, stealing and brawling is what she's good at..
Not diplomacy or being generous, so nothing that needs self sacriface or nobility even for promise of trinkets.

Gregreo thought to please the crowd of the arena by fighting three minatours in nothing but tan pants. He'd punch the buggers to death.

Needless to say, the glorious Grand Champion spent most of the afternoon, half of the evening running around the arena healing himself while taking pot shots at them. The crowd didn't seem to mind and he was awarded a lot of gold for it.

lol, I've done that before.

I also have done the following:

1) Attempt to swim in lava.

2) Took Martin into an Oblivion Gate and pushed him into a pool of lava.

3) Told the Jemane Brothers to wait in Oblivion, the I closed it with them still inside.

4) Jumped off of Dive Rock with Adoring Fan.

Camarilla had just cleared a particularly difficult cave of marauders after I had upgraded to OOO. There were 7 marauders and it took me almost an hour to get all of them as I had to pick them off one by one. When I was looting around afterwards, all proud of my actions, there was the balcony sort of in the cave with a pool of water under it. Now, I have this amazing jump mod where your character does a flip in the air which looks really cool, so I do that all the time just to see the flip. Unfortunately in this particular case there was a small plateau in the middle of the pool, which I of course smacked my face right into and got knocked out as I was low on health. She was floating around in the pool afterwards, face down, and probably drowned.

Dumb thing ?

Tried to level in Oblivion normally and enjoy playing that way.

And I tried it after I already did it in Morrowind. I should have known how painful this is.

I so hate this rulesystem.

Most un-dumb thing ?

Realizing I can just level with the console and ignore this stupid rulesystem.

Even better, take them and Adoring into an Oblivion gate, tell them to wait in a safe, secluded area, then close the gate with them inside!

I've heard that if you did that, you'll never see them again.

Or would they magically appear back out? I dunno. Try it.

Well dumbest thing my characters have done is easily this:
Okan-Kur, an Argonian noble went exploring the forest for deer, when he saw a Conjurer kill an Imperial Legion guard. Okan-kur ambushes the conjurer, killing him, seeing more of these evil conjurers, he kills the outer guards. Sneaking into the Ayeild Ruin, everything seems fine, when he hears some pvssyr, and looks to see another conjurer. He lets loose an arrow, hoping for th ekill, but instead, his doom. Not only was that conjurer able to take his arrow in the arm without flinching, she summons a Frost atronach, while her colleagues summoned various daedra.
Backing up to get out of there Okan-Kur saw two men fully clad in Daedric gear. "Halt, pondscum, you've seen too much. Your death is now." Okan-Kur attempted to fire an arrow into the heads of these maniacs. Missing by a hair, the two Conjurers unleashed a flurry of strikes with their claymores.
Okan-Kur laid dead as the conjurers took his fortune for themselves.

If only he just simply killed the one conjurer, he could live to hunt another day.

Followed the emperor out of the dungeons. He didn't ask for being the Champion of Cyrodiil, diving into dangerous oblivion gates all the time. He was happy in jail. :P

On a more serious note... He has fallen off a lot of stuff. Accidentally killed important people. Screwed up the game with mods etc. Most of that was my own fault, not his.

Brilliant! Maybe take Martin and Jaufree into an Obliv gate and tell them to wait there. Or even more people, take Martin, Jaufree, Jermane Brothers, Darkbrother follower, mage follower, not sure if you can have a fighters guild follower but seeing as how the other two did it why not? Close a gate with all of them inside. Though if you did make sure to save before hand. What happens to Martin and Jaufree though since they are 2 of the most important characters and cannot die?

I believe you can only have 1 guild follower at a time. If you go the Mages Guild with your assassin following, I think the mage apprentice will say you have to dismiss the DB member first. :)

Most likely, they will reappear right next to you the next time you fast-travel somewhere, even if you told them to wait. If they're scripted to follow you, they will. Even through the barrier shielding Nirn from Oblivion. :P

Biggest mistake was allowing the adoring fan to follow me around. I figured that having another blade around might be handy in a fight. First cave I went into with him I tried to sneak up on a bandit so that I could fire an arow into him, of course the adoring fan saw the bandit and ran away crying something like "By Azurar by azura!". Of course the bandit charged, I missed and I had to whack the bandit in the face with the bow before running away. For his insolence the adoring fan was taken to the traditional execution spot of Dive rock and forced to walk of the edge, that ought to teach him

I took a look at this Dive Rock and...:

"... to many players who despise the Adoring Fan, it is an infamous point at which the Adoring Fan can be killed."

Why? I assume u can DETONATE the Adoring anywhere, yesn't?

Typically the most common occurance was going out clearing many dungeons, then entering a city to sell my loot, only to have some upity guard try to kill the Gray Fox and make Captian for it.

What's really painful is reloading, then doing it again

This isn't technically about my character but about a character.
Apparently, on Oblivion or Morrowind, my boyfriend found away to get his character's speed so high, that he could go across Cyrodiil instandly and go around so fast he would practically float.... Until he would crash into a mountain and die. If this is possibe, I'm not sure. I have no idea how to get a speed so high for my boyfriend said he was able to make a spell so potent that it made his speed and agility to around 700 or 1000. Not sure if that's possible though. :P

Gads, wasn't that in Morrowind, near the begining of the game when that poor guy fell from the sky and you get a few scrolls of flying or somesuch?

And on topic, it took me quite a while to figure out how to operate an Oblivion Gate.

When I first got Oblivion I would pick up everything I saw because I thought I could sell it for a [censored]-load of money or because it looked cool. An example: While escaping the Sewer at the beginning of the game I always picked up all of the bones instead of the ingredients and would drop weapons instead them if I became over-encumbered.
