The Dunmer Screenshot Thread #4

Post » Wed Aug 10, 2011 9:13 pm

It looks great :D

What people are saying about the texture on the armour, the only part im not sure about is the arms. The torso and legs look fine IMO, its just the arms that look out of place

I like the look, although I believe his eyes are like that because of the attack animation(Same thing happened in the Fallout games)
Weren't Dunmer inspired by several Asian cultures in the first place?

And I have to say, when I first looked at the screenshot I thought: "Is this modded Morrowind?" :P

Not that I know of...
The Akiviri, though, were very "Asian" in culture.

However, some Dunmer actually looked a little Asian in Morrowind when I think about it, so perhaps it makes sense after all.

Well, for example the Ashlanders remind me of Mongolian culture.

Look closely, and you can see hes got a scar on the right side of his face just below his eye. ^_^

Looks good. He's ugly, but in an awesome kind of way. The armor looks somewhat out of place though, but I hope this is something that gets changed before release. I can't wait to see all the other races now, I'm so excited!

Btw, to everyone saying the eyes aren't red; they are. Zoom in.

That's still a pretty racist title....

No, not really.

Racism is when you say something bad about a race of people that is intended to apply to everyone of that race (eg "Irish people are stupid", "White people have bad fashion sense", "Dunmer have bad teeth"). That is racism (I don't believe any of the previous statements by the way; those were examples). Calling the dunmer our "ashy friend" is about as racist as Marty the zebra from Madagascar being called "my monochromatic friend".

On topic: Looks awesome. I won't play as a dunmer, but this will make the ones I meet look so much better.

Why not? He was already 4000 years old in Morrowind's events. What's a little more than 200 years for him? ^^

Did he get out of Vvardenfell?

I didn't like it a first, thought the screenshot was from another game and not skyrim! But actually now I quite like the more dark and rugged look or skyrim compared to oblivions pretty boys. But why is there so much facial detail yet so little (in comparison) armour detail?

what's a little natural disaster or invasion when you've managed to survive long enough to become 4000 years old.

i could see him as a hermit in skyrim, still going on about his hobbies of finding dwemer artifacts alongside his daughters/wives/clones.

Maybe. It shouldn't be too hard to find a reason why he's in Skyrim.

That's just awesome.

This explains why it took them so long to take the screenshot.

Love the aura borealis.

I don't like so much how the ears point backwards (a lot better than in Oblivion though), I hope there'll be different forms of elven ears.

And you can't see them well, but the eyes should be redder, hope you can change that too.

btw, is that an owl flying above his shoulder?

Going by how much detail in face customisation we've seen, I'd say there's a good chance the ears are alterable.

And I dunno about an owl, but it's a bird of some description in any case.

Holly [censored]! seeing booty sweet's comparision, it makes the oblivion dark elves the odd one out. everyone is going to hate me for saying this, but the expersion on the face, the type of beard and the hairstyle and the shape of the head makes the skyrim dummner look almost like a male nightelf from warcraft ( im talking about warcraft art, not ingame wow graphics). Seriously, BSG have [censored] greatly improved on their character creation. No longer will i be a slave to anime elves with HHHcup sized [censored] that bounce like soccerballs

He looked a bit too pale to me, but I'm guessing (and hoping) that the other Dunmer NPCs will have the darker skin.

That looks incredible. I may actually play a dunmer character now. I avoided them in Oblivion because they looked horrible.

LOL so which race did you pick? IMO all the races looked pretty bad in Oblivion without mods.

Finally!! :celebration:
Dunmer looks AWESOME!! Only thing I don't kinda like is the "short" ears, I prefer them long.

Screw nords, I'm gonna play as a dunmer on my first playtrought. :mohawk:
