The Dwemer are back!

Not really, but what would happen if they re-appeared after the events in TES 4?

I'd think they'd be pretty angry at the Dunmer.

discuss.

Well, they're probably dead....

And if they would ever return, they wouldn't get far since the dunmer have the empire (for now) as allie...

They're history. I think the Dwemer are more interesting as a lost civilization than as a living race anyway.

I never understood why people have posted over the years wanting to see the Dwemer return someday, be cloned, etc.

I'd have to agree, the Dwemer are gone, and they should stay that way. Not only would brining them back make them lose that "mysterious lost civilization" feel, but after they've been gone for so long, and, by the looks of things, will never come back, any attempt to bring them back that wasn't set up from the start would probably just seem silly.

Agreed totally. Not to mention a race that most people believe were destroyed for impiety wouldn't exactly be welcomed with open arms, particularly not in Morrowind. I'd rather genocide not be a topic TES tackles at the moment.

With both the Heart of Lorkhan and Numidium gone, I don't see how it can happen.

I would agree with the above posters that the Dwemer are gone. No use over rezing those guys up.

I find it quite funny how people always state in every dwemer topic that "they're gone for good." Exactly what proof you guys have that states they have no chance of coming back? If they "mysteriously disappear", couldn't they just "mysteriously" reappear?

This is Bethesda here. They're not exactly Bioware when it comes to storytelling (hence FO3 and Oblivion main storyline). It wouldn't surprise me if they DO bring the dwemer back in the future.

They became the [censored] skin of the Numidum. They can't just undo it, since there is no one to undo it. The only one who could have is in a stinking pit of Corpus, is bloated with corpus, has lost a lot of his memory, and bits of his sanity come and go.

Also, Vivec stated he cannot sense them

That would be about as original as making Dagoth Ur come back in TES V. It COULD be done, but it would be lame. Extremely lame.

The fact they're not still around and that we don't know the exact circumstances of their disappearance is what makes them so awesome. Bringing them back would just be bringing them back for the sake of bringing them back.

I think that they would try to reclaim their lost and ravaged technology. Also, since there was huge mystery behind their disappearnce, whole civilizations would be up in arms about trying to figure out what happened to them and why. I feel this would be especially true with the Dunmer.

And they'll be a techno-prog-industrial rock band

Yeah, I'd rather TES5 have the Falmer "returning" instead of bringing back Dwemer or Ayleids. That would be an interesting twist on the "long dead elven culture."

Well the Ayleids aren't extinct, so it would be a return to power or a repopulation rather than a return from the dead.

I concur. Unless someone/thing undoes the creation of Anumidium (and consequently the Septim Empire) the Dwemer are gone. I'd prefer that Yagrum's "Outer Realms" were elaborated on a bit more.

Because really they didn't become the golden skin of the Numidium, they became the golden skin of Yagrum's fat ass. The Numidium wasn't finished so the souls sought the closest Dwemeri host and he swelled up a like a balloon trying to contain them all - claiming he has corprus is his cover...

I think that the MQ of TES5 should be the rediscovery of the dwemer, then TES6 can have a new race :mohawk:

He also said that he didn't murder Nerevar.

That's just one theory. We don't know whether that's true. And we don't know who is responsible for it, although there's less speculation about that. If Azura was responsible, then she might be able to make them come back. The Dwemer couldn't be gone completely, as there are still Dwemer ghosts.

It doesn't really matter what happened to them, as, if they came back, the Dunmer would massacre them.
