[WIPRELz] The Eagle has Landed - Enclave MQ Overhaul

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 5:46 am

When Alexander dropped me after the first memorial scene, he goes to the vertibird that disappears, after that a black flash. I am not sure what is supposed to happen but I think this isn't right.
Elder Lyons acts like I'm LW

PS. Good luck to you Pistolero, hope you do well in the army

Yes. This mod is not dead yet. Pistolero has just come back from the army. But if you can ask, your help might be well appreciated

That's an excellent idea. I should ask him, if he needs any help.

Take Care!

Yes, America is back 'n all. Including myself.

For all you others to know, Talyn82 has joined the TEHL modding team. Rest assured, we are working around the clock to make sure this mod sees daylight. And despite moments of silence once a while, this mod never dies. This is too big to die. Too much work has been put to this to see this die.

I would also like to remind y'all that I am desperately looking for voice actors, especially female ones.

I just picked up a Mic the other day, give me a bit to do some samples and I would probably be willing to provide you with some voice work (male), I can see if my fiance would as well (female)

Female voice-actors, huh? Have you asked llamaRCA? http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/user/1200978-llamarca/
She's the one who made and voiced Willow companion mod. And she did pretty outstanding job on that

Hey, I didn't know you hung out over here! Yeah, he asked me :) Pistolero and I have been hanging out together over here in the forums for a long, long time. It's great to see him back and working on the mod again.

Hey, I didn't know you hung out over here! Yeah, he asked me :) Pistolero and I have been hanging out together over here in the forums for a long, long time. It's great to see him back and working on the mod again.

In Bethesda forums, this is the only topic I check on actively. Nexus, Underground and deviantART is quite enough for now :) Good, he asked you already. Then I guess that is all I got.
I do hope you consented. As I said, you did outstanding job on Willow.

Exactly, when I saw how much work you had invested into the mod. I knew this mod could not and will not die.

All the roles are open. Notably there is only two female posts open now, the main character's mother and generic Enclave Soldiers and Civilians. But there will be a lot more females around since I don't want the Enclave look like some stupid Legion.

Aye, I am glad to see that you've been sticking around here too. :)

I hope that we can get this mod living again. I mourn the apparent loss of Kyntak, but luckily I got Talyn to replace him. We will be an outstanding duo.

Exactly, when I saw how much work you had invested into the mod. I knew this mod could not and will not die.
Aye. My mods have the tendency to die (I have had dozens upon dozens of mod projects over the years) but this is my crown jewel and I take some sort of pride in getting to work on it. If some of you recall, this originally was a petty mod request by myself for others to work on. But a few minutes later I said, [censored] it, and did it myself.

Yes, I assume you haven't heard anything from Kyntak. Damn shame. But it's very convenient that Talyn joined up now. Right now I'm sure any help is needed.
By the way, what is Talyn's part in the project? Something specific, like scripting? I'm just curious.

He is what ZuluFoxtrot was back in the early days - a perfecter. I make the bulk and get it working somehow and Talyn pretty much makes sure it actually works and looks good. So far he's been correcting dialogue and works on certain scripts. But of course for all I care he can do anything he feels useful.

Something that crossed my mind - would anyone support the idea of reincorporating Colonel Autumn into this mod, with a different voice actor? His death in this mod is swift, plothole ridden and as everyone knows him he could have important impact on the story later on, especially when the Enclave starts taking over the Wasteland. You see, I'm toying with this storyline where we would incorporate the Enclave's civil war about FEV in TEHL. Colonel Autumn with troops operating in the Wasteland could lead the anti-FEV side while troops loyal to Eden (mostly R&D and troops in Raven Rock) would support the idea of exterminating all life in the Wasteland. Just something to keep player busy after the Purifier story (I call it Act I) is finished.

I also got the idea of having Enclave presidential elections later on, when Eden is wiped off the map by player. Colonel Autumn would be a considerable candidate.

This mod is still fresh enough that replacing Johnson in the Raven Rock quest would have little impact on progress. Johnson would still play an important role though (he would still ambush the player at Purifier Rotunda), as his fanaticism was originally intended to act as the polar opposite for Colonel Autumn.

If the voice actor is similar enough, I'm all with the idea. Otherwise I don't really see what is it that makes him to be the only one who could do those things. I do like Autum's character and I would love to see more of him in the mod, but only as long as it really is him, you know

Autumn would be nice, I could even manage him without the voice but still with the few dialogue he had in the game. With him added in limitless possibilities of stuff you could do are out there.

Having Autumn will ease a lot of pain when making deeper plots for the mod as there is no longer just made-up characters.
The thing that brought me this idea is the fact that in this mod Colonel Autumns has http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DroppedABridgeOnHim, that is killed off without any reasonable explanation only because the actor isn't available any more. I really really dont like it.

Another way would be to include the voice change in the plot. A experiment with a Deathclaw goes horribly wrong, the evil Lone Wanderer makes a visit, a rusty power armor helmet and no oil can around... and Autumn now has the 'Darth Vader' syndrome ;) .

There is no way that it will ever feel 100% correct the actor isn't available but if done right (not my "drop a bridge on him" "Darth Vader" example ;) ) it could be a interisting solution to the problem.

My original idea was that since Colonel Autumn has little dialogue in the first place, it wouldn't be much if we changed his voice ENTIRELY, from start to end. To say that "he always sounded like this".

A lot of work (combat, idle and reaction dialoge has to be made too) but the best solution in my opinion. It gives you all the freedom you need.

The 'Darth Vader' syndrome idea actually sounds pretty good. But, as I have said before, it should be because of the players actions. It can't just happen. Entirely chancing his voice would be only foolish to start with. Finding a proper voice actor is challenging enough.

Despite debate I would like to remind - once again - that I encourage people with mics to record some dialogue and give to me for evaluation. All roles are open.

I record lines for my main mods soon. So if you have a minor role I could add it to this session (I make combat, reaction and idle topics too, so you could reuse them). How I sound you can hear http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JfpgAzef3sE or at other videos on my youtube channel. I have a pretty heavy german accent.

This offer isn't limited to this recording session. I know how hard it is to get voice actors when you need them. Feel free to sent a PM if you need something. At the moment I am pretty busy with FNNCQ2 for FO3 and David for NV but I can squeeze it in (that's why I wrote minor role).

I always liked this mod.

Sounds like Autumn would be extremely busy, so why not just have his orders delivered via underlings? There should still be a direct chain of command. Then again I have no ideal how far the player actualy advances up the ranks in this mod. But, if your adamant Bout having some interaction between the player and Autumn, just have it as part of a General Assembly. Where other soldiers communicate with Autumn via loud speakers. Voice distorting crap loud speakers.

I got a good one for you: Humbert, a slaver important to the "finding daddy" quest, has some 10 to 15 lines in total. Being a Wastelander it isn't hard to explain why he would have a foreign-sounding accent, and he is VERY minor so it isn't a big job to do.

Thanks :)

That's... A great idea..!

On how the player advances through ranks, back when this mod was mere concept the player was steadily rising in rank until the highest... But as of now the player remains a glorious Private (First Class) for most of the game. I admit it, that's mostly because I'm a Private myself by military rank (could've been a corporal or sergeant if I wanted to, but I turned down the offer :P)
